  • Here we go. Today I go crazy with customs and disregard how much it will cost me to determine if what I think can be pulled off. Will it work? or fail? Here's 52 minutes of video to find out. Lol.

    With the flash figure you could make a Batman Returns figure

      Thank you for watching. I wanted to. It looks almost 80% there but I wanted a good heasculpt on it and I'm still looking for one...maybe a custom one.

    @proto legacy - for some reason I can't find your comment here to reply to but Thank you for watching and I green off the boot is not a bleed through because the plastic is casted in black. It's actually paint app, maybe it's a hint of something that happens in the movie but i'm not sure.

    I actually think this is a fantastic effort and looks really good. That Mezco head definitely fits better on the 7 inch body. If you can get the paint all to match it will look great once finished.

      Thank you for watching. Absolutely, I need to re-do the paint and also get rid of that green in the boots.

    There's no loophole around likeness rights, McFarlane has to pay no matter what the final product looks like. Its not based on how accurate it is, part of it is the recognizable persona and since even the box is labeled. Theres zero wiggle room. (Also, that means flash Batman is 100% McFarlane Toys effort at Keaton's likeness, which is weak unfortunately) Solid rebuild, lot going on here haha final product ended up great

    • @amusedjester
      @amusedjester  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching. It's all speculation on my part. Although, there's rumor going around that in order to sidestep Yvonne Craig's estate on her likeness as Batgirl, McFarlane puts the new 1966 Batgirl under the Comicbook version of the 1966 Batman. I still think the "wiggle" that TOdd is dancing around is that he has secured the likeness of the character, costume and movie design but not the actor's. I think he can legally claim that he based his figures on the character design sheets.

    • @amusedjester
      @amusedjester  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Forty3Snakes Thank you for watching. Yeah, those likeness rights must be a whole boat-load of money. Keaton would have learned from his experience how much they are worth. I made this video before we even found out whatever is happening with Affleck and The Flash movie credits.

    I'm waiting to see how people tackle adding a cape to that flash figure, a returns keaton is 90% there already, just need to paint the body, add a cape and splice a custom returns style keaton head on that neck joint and add some fins on the hands after removing the clove cuffs and a belt... it's way less complicated than what you did! the skinny body doesn't make any difference because the cape covers it!
    we're for sure getting an 89 Batman from McFarlane because 89 gets all the love, it wouldn't surprise me if McFarlane doesn't do a returns figure even tho all they would need is new forearms, a head and a cape but I maintain McFarlane is both a genius and dumbass at the same time, the gold label batmobile could come with a returns figure or the 6 pack but it's probably going to be 89 with one or both or this new suit!

    Great job! A daring challenge, but you pulled it off and I am actually impressed with the result! Only thing it really begs for is a nice wired cape of the right pleather material. Your final figure is not bad without, but man, with, it might be beyond words! Just sayin'! Still proud of your total lack of fear!

    • @amusedjester
      @amusedjester  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hahaha! I keep looking at the cape and I keep wanting to put a wire on it. I want to pose it like the first time we see Keaton in it. Painting is not my strongest forte, do you do any prep on the pieces before painting them?

    • @LesWalker2023
      @LesWalker2023 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@amusedjester Sometimes, sometimes not. This toy plastic, usually PVC, can take water based acrylics, like Vallejo brand fairly easily. I often spray them after with Mr Hobby Clear flat topcoat spray, but with that more rubbery cowl, which I would not paint, since that wouldn't work, you might have to mask that off and paint the rest, or prepaint the body, do the cape, etc, then put the cowl on last. As is. Not too hard really, just do it in the right steps. A wired cape is a must though!

      @@amusedjester Most McFarlane figs don't require much in the way of joint prep when it comes to repaints. Occasionally I've had to Dremel out a bit more space inside the shoulder socket, and the chest socket. But that's it. If you're going to paint the molded wrist and ankle joints, make sure to heat up and pull everything apart so you can get everything painted, sealed, and then put it back together.

      Thank you for watching. It only needed a re-paint to make the arms cohesive to the whole body, so I didn't make a whole video on that. I will add it later to the 1966 West custom video. That one is also in the finishing stage of re-paint. I will just do 1 big video of a bunch of customs being finished.

      @amusedjester  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching. Unfortunately, I'm planning on using the remaining heads for other custom projects. For one, i'm taking off the head and using the mask for a Keaton diorama. But the KO figure is fairly cheap at aliexpress. I think I spent a total of $16 for a figure.

    All of those Mezco Batman 89 hands and accessories are in scale with McFarlane figures; as are most of their hands, heads, and accessories for that matter. You might have to very carefully drill out the peg hole in the hands to get them to fit, but they will fit, and they will be in the correct scale! So go nuts with swapping in accessories too!

    • @amusedjester
      @amusedjester  ปีที่แล้ว

      THank you for watching AND subscribing. I know right? It's my only way to recoup value from my mezco as my copy was stiff and broke. I can, at least, salvage some enjoyment by using the accessories through numerous customs.

  • @gagemcnamara2834
    @gagemcnamara2834 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You should use the mezco 89 heads on the mcfarlane 89 batman figure that would be a lot better. Plz make a video

    • @amusedjester
      @amusedjester  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for watching. That one is easy. All you have to do is take off the existing shoulder cowl from a McFarlane and put on the Mezco one. The hardest part is getting the figure since it only comes in the 6 pack and the car. If they release one as a single, I'll do it.
      I did, put on the unmasked Keaton head on the new McF figure and it looks awesome. I'll have to squeeze it in a future video somewhere.

      Thank you for watching. Great Ideas. I was going to use the Flash body but while comparing it I noticed that it was leaner and I wanted that width from the Keaton figure. Plus, I am still tempted to do a Returns figure using that Flash body. lol. I HAVE to wait until this goes to clearance. I can't believe I'm buying multiples for custom use only. It's getting expensive.
