    That thing is so fkn hawt hope this becomes standard across all manufacturers. Amp + Signal Processing + Hi and Lo level ins and loads of outs. A solid base for most systems. So good.

    Finally a complete rundown on this amplifier. Could you do a video on building a 3-way front stage using this amp? I’ve noticed an increasing amount of people going fully active with their setups. Everything from driver selection to crossover points would be super helpful.

    The more I see them, the more I am liking Audio Control amps with their built-in dsp. Sure, having multiple amps is nice to show off, but keeping it 'simple' with 1 piece is pretty awesome too. The flexibility it (Audio Control) offers is awesome.

      Of course you do. 75% of his channel is just pimping audio control products. It's classic us marketing at its finest. Shove something down people's throats and they'll like it no matter whether they really do technically or don't.

    Mark, these are very well done videos, so thank you for taking the time to produce such informative & valuable content. My son & I are building a 1951 Chevrolet Truck as a Father/Son project. This is an heirloom car, so hopefully he will keep it for decades if not forever. Since there is no factory audio system in play, his thoughts are to use a BT receiver connected to his smart phone using his playlist, then route through an EQ to correct the source going into the amp(s) and finally route to the speakers. Would the D-6.1200 be the best product for a 5 or 6 channel system? Or is it overkill for a BT connection to a cell phone? It's a single cab truck where the front 3.5" speakers are mounted in the dash or installing 6/6.5" in the front kick panels, rear speakers would be placed in the rear cab corners, and the sub(s) mounted behind the seat. The amps would be installed under or behind the seat. Thanks for any advice you can provide to us.

    How is it in terms of sound quality? Can it be compared to something I know, like HELIX P SIX DSP MK2? Is there only 12dB/oct and 24dB/oct? And the others? What about time correction? Which connection method can be used with android multimedia? It is important that the sound is not processed from android. How to connect then? By bluetooth? No optics? With optics it's like a clean signal as far as I know. I don't understand English very well, so please forgive any inaccuracies. Thank you

    You did a great review of this amp, but you forgot a very important capability: It's a full 8x8 audio matrix. This means you could have multiple inputs beyond the BT adapter. I chose the D-6.1200 and it's baby brother D-4.800 to run an IASCA/IQC system in my F150 (which I happen to be smack in the middle of). In order to retain the highest possible source quality from my iPhone, I'm running an Airport Express (12v mod + fan) for lossless Airplay via wifi, running mini-toslink to toslink into a Cambridge Audio MagicDAC 100. Then, I have a 1ft custom RCA into inputs 5-6. I'm using high-level inputs 1-4 for my OEM stereo and the BT adapter uses 7-8. Lastly, you can simply program the preset memories to use whichever inputs you want. I'll personally have Preset 1 as All Seats Airplay, Preset 2 as Driver Seat Airplay, Preset 3 as All Seats OEM, and Preset 4 as All Seats BT. Keep up the great videos!

    I'm still pretty new to car audio. I've watched tons of your videos and I've learned so much! When I have any questions, I dig a little deeper and I can usually find the answers I'm looking for. However, I'm stumped on this one. In the video, you suggest running the six channels to a set of 3-way component speakers, but, at 4 ohms, that would put 125 watts to a single tiny tweeter. How can the speaker survive that much power? The tweeters I've researched don't come close to that kind of power rating.

    Mark could you make a tutorial video on setup and tuning the DSP on the D6 1200. I watched many videos that you made as well as others but no one goes through to explain the steps and the reasons for the order of steps to take. I have a 2016 F150 factory head unit infinity split fronts and rear with rockford 12. put this amp in and I keep trying to tune my system. It just doesn't sound as good as it should. I'm upgrading my girlfriend's car audio and was wondering if this would work to power the front component speakers, the rear coaxial speakers and an 8" sub in the rear. It would. But unless she's a complete audiophile and wants to tweak every speaker on the computer you won't need these. Just go with a Punch five channel amp. (P1000x5) It has four channels for each speaker and a fifth channel for a subwoofer.

When installing the DSP is the recommendation to splice into the factory speaker wires or just cut them off completely to run to the DSP? I’d be running all new speaker wires for new speakers so the factory wires wouldn’t be in use, but splicing in line would make it easier to remove my aftermarket equipment if I sold my vehicle. Thanks.

    I'm late to the game here, but I just bought a 2012 Lexus IS250 and I've been researching how to adapt to the factory navigation/audio system and found this. Damn...Audio Control has me thinking about selling my JL Audio HD750/1 and HD600/4 amps and replacing them with this one amp. It's either that or using the Audio Control DM-810 DSP and keeping my HD amps. I really like the space saving and flexibility of this amp and I wouldn't sacrifice much on power either. Hmmm...things to think about. Damn you Mark!

  • @kid_rajah
    @kid_rajah 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You just GOTTA show how to install this with a second amp. Putting subs on their own amp is common so I would like to see how the DSP would handle such a setup with a 6 speaker setup commonly found in SUV’s.

    • @CarAudioFabrication
      @CarAudioFabrication  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I discussed this in the video, you would connect the six speakers to the speaker outputs of the amplifier, and then you would send the signal from the RCA outputs on this amp to a separate subwoofer amplifier. You could even use this amp to tell the other amp to "turn on" with the remote out, and you can completely tune the subwoofer RCA output. So 8 full channels of DSP control.

    • @kid_rajah

      CarAudioFabrication what if I wanted to run 2 sub woofer amps, a lc800.1 and a lc1500.1, since there is only 1 set of outputs, would I just need a rca distribution or even rca splitter to have 2 sets of rcas?

  • @tcisneros79
    @tcisneros79 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Mark, I want use chanel 5 and 6 for subwoofer and RCA line output can i add another amplifier for subwoofer?

  • @ericperry72
    @ericperry72 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    2 things this amp needed, and extra set of outputs to be used for rear fill or for more powerful amp for front mid-bass and you still have the other see of outputs for the subs. And the last option would be the ability to run two of these together and when connected one amp runs all left side and the other runs all right side.

    • @CarAudioFabrication
      @CarAudioFabrication  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean, where does it end though? Then it would be: well why not have 6 outputs so you can run an active set of 2 way components in back plus subs? I get what you're saying, and it would be nice... but I think at the point that you need the extra channels you are getting into a larger build that is likely going to be a dedicated DSP like the DM-810 and several amps.

    • @ericperry72
      @ericperry72 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CarAudioFabrication yeah you are right. Then a 8 channel with 1 set of outputs would be the whole system amp like the jl audio vxi amp. I say that because it seems AC is trying to bring a all in one solution.

    this looks like an amazing, no-brainer amp if budget allows... but I wonder, isn't 125W RMS per channel too much for what front speakers and tweeters can handle? what are your thoughts Mark on this?

    Mark! Could you explain the process and devices available to retrieve a digital signal from OEM head units so we don't have to go through unnecessary DA / AD / DA conversion??? Also... you rule!! (I should be more specific and mention that I have a late model BMW).

    Shouldn't the GTO signal sense be switched off when you jumpered the remote turn on to power?

    This is a solid piece, is it possible to run 1&2 as Twitters 3&4 as fronts, 5&6 as rear and line out for the sub (amp).

    Hi Mark, using my current amps, what would be a good SQ stand alone DSP?
    Nice review btw 👍

    Hey Mark, If I plan on running front and rear component speakers in my Jeep Wrangler will that actually be 8 channels? I was thinking about the Audio Control DM-810 with a 4 channel amp for the fronts, a 4 channel amp for the sound bar speakers and a separate amp for the sub. What are your thoughts?

    What if I have 2-way components in the front, 2-way in the back, and a sub with a separate amp. how would the wiring work?

    Do you still need an epicenter if you use the output to control a lc 1.800 amp? If so, how do I set to full range

    Hi Mark! Will this amp work with a 2018 F150 with the B&O sound system? The only thing that seems to work for this is the Nav-tv. I've been waiting for an Amp pro to come out but if this amp works I would definitely use it. I just bought the LC 1-800 for my sub. Would love your opinion.

    My car has 4 stock speakers in each door. I want to cancel the OEM speakers and put 1 woofer 1 mid range and 1 tweeter in each door, so there will be a total of 12 speakers.
    Will this DSP be enough to run the 12 speakers? If so, how to conncet the 12 speaker into the 6 channels? If not, what should I do to make it work?
    Also, can I connect another regular amplifier to run tweeters and mids, and transfer all data from the DSP directly to the other amplifier?
    I know its a lot of questions, but your detailed answer will help a lot.
    Thanks.

    All that but we can't adjust the level of channel 1 separate from channel 2? Time alignment is great but only half the battle for a true center image.

    • @CarAudioFabrication
      @CarAudioFabrication  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You absolutely can adjust level independently. Watch the section where I show how eq can be controlled seperately on left and right. The slider changes to two sliders

      @heytonyman 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CarAudioFabrication Aah got it! Missed that at 19:22 where the level changed from both to odd and even. I just caught where the EQ could be adjusted independently. I was thinking OK I can drag the entire EQ down for that channel but that's a lot of adjustments to make an across-the-board change to the level.

    Looks like the AudioControl line of DSP software doesn't have an actual rear fill setting/filter, i.e. stripping the center/mono/common signal to leave hard left/right for ch 5/6. What DSP lines do have that functionality?

    Is the signal sent over Bluetooth from a smartphone to a paired speaker flat, or mostly flat? Using Amazon music app and an Android phone. Help is appreciated.

    I wonder why no phase adjustment (180 isn't enough). I guess delay will help getting output phase correct but it's nice to have independent control. Lastly, how do we preserve any surround sound DSP from stock system and still tune for best sound. I'm not sure what my factory DSP does (delay, frequency changes??)
