    This video is crazy I am already working on trying to take a trip out in 2015 and this video keeps me motivated. Did you use the gopro headset and if so how did you decide when to start and stop based on when you were on the rail vs idle time?

    • @robertyoon
      @robertyoon  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I did use the gopro headset. If the fishing was hot, I left it on the whole time. If it was slow and I wasn't fishing, i would walk around and capture other people catching fish.

    Great video, I way enjoyed that. I used to go down that way and into mexico when I was a kid in the early 80s with my father. We caught a lot of yellowtail and a few yellowfin but never got into them like that. No fishing here in Wyoming will ever compare. Hey I'll trade you 100 pounds of elk steaks for 30 pounds of yellowfin.

    • @johnhdalton

      @robertyoon  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey John,

    Rob, awesome video! So how much fish did you catch? do they clean, package and ship it for you (at a cost of course)? Looks like a ton of fun.

    • @robertyoon
      @robertyoon  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I caught I think 400lbs of fish on this trip. They don't clean/package the fish for you, but they have a few companies that do at the end of the trip. Its .75 cents per lb of fish to process and bag..so my bill came out to 300$. Thats without shipping. Shipping 300lbs isnt cheap but its do-able.

    I just watched the complete video, that boat setup is absolutely awesome from the way they have the rods, the tackle boxes, the gaffs etc. I live in Ireland but have been in contact with them to get availability for July 2020. I have been watching up on your videos and dude, you are living the dream over there ! I am well jealous lol. Can I ask what camera setup you have and is it on a chest mount or something like that ? Cheers and keep up the good work man

    • @robertyoon
      @robertyoon  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Before making you're decision, I suggest you goto bdoutdoors.com and check out their forums. They have forums for every location Florida/California/Alaska. Fishing varies season to season, but this July trip was pretty epic. Also what they target varies season to season. California has probably the best fishing fleet in the world. You would be hard pressed to find any boat anywhere outside of California that fishes past 3 days, let alone 8-17 day trips out of San Diego. The Camera setup is a gopro head mount on top of my hat. Good luck

    • @robertyoon

      The guys marlin was too big for his rod/reel. He lost him because we could not bring him in. Those 22footers were probably only a 5-10 miles from shore? Maybe little more or little less.

    Did the man ever get the marlin?

    • @robertyoon
      @robertyoon  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      No one landed the marlins. Too strong on too light of line.

    7 day trip sounds crazy? Is it a bunk system and how do showers work?

    • @robertyoon
      @robertyoon  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They have a freshwater maker that converts salt water to fresh water. Shower works well

    Man every time I see people rest their rods on the rail above the grip I always cringe waiting for it to snap.
    Great vid.

    • @robertyoon
      @robertyoon  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      NoOneImportant556 These rods are specifically designed to be able to rest your rod on the rail. Here's a tip, dont buy your fishing rods from Walmart.

    • @robertyoon
      @robertyoon  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      We only use the best gear.. None of my rods have busted on all my biggest fish... I've seen Kmart rods bust, but never the better gear.. Thanks for watching!

      Well Ive seen $2,000 custom spun rods snap from big fish and bad fishing. No rod is immune to snapping. ESPECIALLY graphite rods.
      One nick from the rail and its going to snap. No matter how good or expensive it is.
