Thank you for showing turning the electrical off. As a Registered Nurse, you don’t even want to know the stories I’ve experienced taking care of people who didn’t check the electricity before doing things.
And I appreciate that you wear a mask, I’ve got stories about people not wearing masks too but this is a DYI channel, not a gory story channel.
And yes this retired nurse is enjoying her time doing simple home repairs and watching channels like yours🙂

Hey, Love the bloopers at the end, I think its really cool you have an emergency shut off switch for the oil burner located away from the unit. On my HVAC I installed a Sonoff Mini R2 inside the shut off at the HVAC and replaced the toggle with a rocker switch because the R2 took up too much room. With the R2 installed I can still go down and shut it off when service is needed, or I can shut it off remotely from anywhere via voice or app. This works out well as my washable filters are located on the first floor and I can turn off the HVAC by voice, clean the washable filters, replace the filters, turn on the HVAC via voice & reset the WiFi Filter Sensor from CleanAlert via the app.
To add a wall switch to the use of a Sonoff Mini R2, you just need to run a pair of bell wires & connect them to the grey terminals on the R2. The switch will work independently from voice or app as it only senses a change in ground to the logic chip (no voltage). The R2 works on voltages from 3.5v to 120v. 10 amp & WiFi 2.4G controlled by the EWelink app. R2 cost approx. $13.20 when you buy the 5 pack.

Dude - several comments = if you continue to add to the mix bloopers with Don Rickles type banter between you and your wife plus self-deprecating humor, you will have a conscientious viewer for ever🤣. I was hooked on your mellifluous and melodic voice narration of your renovation work like Bob Ross did for me with his painting art videos. So adding the humor is icing on the cake. One request - since you're almost done with your own house renovations, please buy another house and do it again. It's wonderful to see a complete makeover evolve as you have put forth. Continued success and happy holidays and New Year to you, your family and pets. Sincerely.

11:07 I think that you're tacking the staple too tight. You just need to prevent the wire from flopping around and being pinched by drywall. Another advantage of keeping the wire loose, is that you can pull the slack out of the wire if you need a few extra inches at the box, in the future, if the exposed wire is not long enough for a new switch.

I'm not sure how much credence you should give to this. But in my drywall learnings on TH-cam from professionals and on forums, I've seen multiple times they recommend boards not get pushed together super close, ok to leave 1/8 inch gap - less likely joint tape cracks will occur over time (so they say)
