It is so, so remarkable how much he's improved since he gave up drinking for good when Conor was born. That was the beginning of what's turned into a whole 35-year career of greatness that he easily might not have had. It says a lot that sober Clapton at 79 years old is a better singer and guitar player than Drunk Clapton was at 30 years old. It also really, really deepens the tragedy that the desire to be a good Dad, like he never had, is what finally helped Clapton kick the last of his addictions, and that he had only 4 years of clean happy life before Conor's death on somebody else's watch--a tragedy which too many people blamed on his substance abuse given that he was finally free of it. No one was surprised, I think, when he outlived Hendrix. But now George is gone, Jeff Beck is gone, Robbie Robertson is gone (here in Canada, his set included a tribute to his Canadian friend Robbie Robertson, instead of his tribute to George with Dhani). Even some of the guitar heroes a generation behind him like Eddie Van Halen are gone. It's amazing that Eric is still here, still bringing his "A" game on stage. Whatever he's done to turn his life and health around since the late '70s, I'm grateful for it.
Eric looks and sounds great 79 years old great to see him selling out venues a real poke in the eye to the people who tried and failed to cancel him for having an opinion
Mr Clapton is an icon, inspiration for elderly people and impressive how he spreads the message of peace and love . A Ray of hope in these confused times . Please come to Amsterdam again, Eric
It was a real surprise live how EC changes up the setlist , Thursday night was special , I will be there next year again , love this guy ❤ The audience were joyful
Over the last 60 plus years of being a fan I will probably die still being a follower of him regardless of his politics even though I disagree with him. I was thinking it was Eric’s age, he’s only a few years older than me but now I don’t care. When he’s gone we will miss his music. It’s obvious he misses certain fellow musicians that have left this earth.
Like you I also disagree with his politics but love his music. Especially his blues guitar music. George is my favorite Beatle & great seeing Dhani ❤🎸❤
Ah, yes, George's classic, Gimme Love (Gimme Piece on Earth)! It's funny, I always considered this to be George's one true Christmas song, even though it really works all year round. Lyrically and musically, it just always took me back to Christmastime, certainly more than Ring Out the Old (Ring In the New), which always came across as more of a New Year's song for me. Eric Clapton, as expected, does a wonderful job playing it here. And best of all, he's looking and sounding great! It's also great to see George's song, Dhani Harrison, playing up there with him.
So sweet, thanks for posting this! As I hear and understand it, this a prayer to God, the Supreme Person, asking for divine love - as the title implies, in trying to know God more deeply - that God might reveal Himself more intimately in the core of one's heart. "Trying to touch and reach you, with heart and soul". "Keep me free from birth" - to be released from the cycle of birth and death (reincarnation) by attaining that intimate perfection of love of God. This could be the goal of any spiritual practice or path, and is the purpose of life, in the Hare Krishna philosophy, faith and practice - to finally know the pure spiritual nature oneself and God, and the loving relationship eternally existing between each soul and one's Creator.
That would be incredible. Eric's voice would suit it perfectly. Very beautiful guitar and solo and would love to see how Eric would play it. Most likely won't happen unfortunately since its not the most popular tune in the world, but one can only dream.

i walked out when i saw the palestine flag on his guitar. saw an interview where he praised Putin, blames Ukraine and praises the pro hamas protesters.hes always been anti Israel and now he can state it out loud.i always stood up for him. not anymore. Hes efin crazy
I have no problem with the Palestinian flag on his guitar (although I definitely don't support Hamas) but I don't get how Eric can be so positive about Putin. Some people take the West's self-flagellation to such extremes. Eric should talk to somebody like Fiona Hill or Timothy Snyder.
So happy to see Dhani there with Eric! ❤❤❤ (I know George is smiling. 🕉️)
George was always smiling ☺ Even when he was about to leave this world. He knew he was going to be with his Sweet Lord Krishna 🙏🏼 🌈 🕉
It’s so nice that Clapton honors Harrison’s music. I miss George, the quiet Beatle but so deep.
It's a friendship that brings tears to my eyes.
God bless Eric Clapton
One of the greatest artist of all time. What a career! Nothing but respect to this once in a lifetime musician.
Great to see Eric looking well and sounding great, reminds me of his 'concert for George' back in 2002, thumbs up

Doyle played the lead beautifully. Wonderful!! Long live George!! How could anyone give a down thumb to this?
Great song and much needed in these times.

Nice slide playing. Clapton is honoring his friend George. That is nice to see.
Never mind that he slept with George’s wife. What a friend.

George was compassion, kindness, laughter and spirituality personified. RIP - Rest in Paradise George 🎸

Great great song - a lovely homage to George from Eric, Dhani and the band!
Great to hear this played live and to be able see Dhani on the same stage. I will never forget this

In the end he was right. Eric is one of the last true rockstars, who has his own opinion and runs against the system.
What part of his politics...Hamas, vax mandates, Enoch Powell? He's all over the map, possibly residually drug-baked.
George 🙏❤️

Clapton looking good for an old man. His voice and rhythm technique are still warm and robust.
I saw John Mayall on stage a few years back when he was roughly Clapton's age on that video and he was brilliant.
I've seen people post on TH-cam that real guitar players don't use a capo. You stand corrected.
