Always good to see honesty and authenticity Unfortunately life isnt the movie a lot of these events and orgs want to project and it can actually be hurtful to the people caught up as a casualty to it all
just discovered your channel through my recommendations, thanks for showing us the behind the scenes of the tour! I'm a huge aussie tennis fan so stuff like this is really cool to watch, looking forward to more vlogs from you!! :)
Hi Destanee, many years ago we watched you training at Legend Park Tennis Club. Think you were about 12yo at the time. It is great to see how you have progressed and ended up making it to the Pro level - especially when so many others didn't. Unfortunately these so called "Team" events are really primarily about money. The fans want to see the higher ranked players competing against each other. That's what sells the tickets to these events. And that's why the higher ranked players tend to feature in the matches. This often means that many players in the team don't get a chance to shine. Even more so when the team "management" is focused on using these events to promote themselves and their favoured players. I think the United Cup should revert to the Hopman Cup format. Two female Singles Player, two male Singles Players, and an optional female and male player for Doubles / Emergencies. The Optional players must play at least one match during the Group Phase. The players positions are nominated before the beginning of the tournament. That way, every player knows where they stand before the event starts. And every player will get to play at least one match regardless of their position in the team. Anyways, Happy New Year to you and your support team. Keep fighting. Wishing you all the best. Cheers :)
Watching this after your match with Collins and just wanted to let you know how loved you are in my household and family. We watched you back in 2017 at the Aus Open and were so proud of you then and even more proud of you now, keep up your hard work and success will follow you in no time 💪
The British team are always close, supporting each other and encouraging from the sidelines, whether playing or not. Much of this comes from Ann Keothavong but it was the same under Judy Murray. Something is missing from the Aussie "team".
I'm curious, did you get the vibe other teams were hostile and unwelcoming as well or did it seem like Australia only? I know you said GB seemed close but I wonder how much you think thr camaraderie contributes to the success of the team?
Came here after seeing the post on tennisforum. I don't think she said anything terrible. She was just being honest about her experience.
Just want to say there are a lot of people who are rooting for you and want to see you win, on and off the court. Happy New Year Destanee ❤
@@najeehall1210 thank you for your kind words, happy new year ✨🫶🏽

Good luck Des. More vlogs like this pls ❤
Do you think the environment came down to the players or the management of the team? Crazy how the host nation can have the worst team atmosphere
I was at the Ao last night and I watch u
All the best Destanee. Chee hooooo
Get rid of Lleyton Hewitt if he can’t foster a positive team environment for his players

I'm sure you'll be the #1 Aussie player next year.
You can't be "canceled" if you're not even remotely famous.
