I'm not a Reylo and I have never seen any Harry Potter media but I gotta say, I love these bookbinding videos. And yours in particular, you are so softspoken. It is almost like asmr.
Really wonderful to get some oral fandom history to listen to. I also stumbled onto fanfic/fandom through a site for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but then as the comics came out, google led me to meta written on lj, and that's when I fell into fandom. Never really left, though the fractured nature these past years does make it more tiresome to try and keep up/find things. Thank god for Dreamwidth and AO3!
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who combined love of a particular fanfic with love of bookbinding. Years ago I bound copies of "Red" by BigPink and sent them to her and her editors. I was going to do more but got a *really* bad case of perfectionism which stopped me in my tracks. Anyway, if you liked the show Supernatural and can ever find Red online, read it, it's great. Thanks so much for your videos, I just found them and am enjoying them. The idea that someone else is doing this makes me very happy. Enjoy your creations and the skills you've taught yourself! :)
Hi, I just started learning how to bind books and typeset. Where did you find a typeset for Manacled or did you make your own? I don’t have a background in graphic design so I’m struggling to do it on my own. I am watching a lot of videos! Thank you!😊
Did you do the typeset for Manacled on your own? I’m just starting to learn how to make and bind books and don’t have a background in graphic design so I’m struggling. Is there somewhere you can find the typeset?
I really want to bind dear draco and manacled but my mom will ask what it’s about and that will be embarrassing cause she will know I have a crush on Draco and other character LMAO
I’ve been watching several of these videos are fanfiction into books with bookbinding, but I find it kind of funny that all of them are Draco and Hermione fanfiction are they really that good.
Now that you've begun to round the spines, are you still tightening the thread when you sew the signatures together or are you not doing it as much now? Does it make a difference if you're rounding the spine?
dramiones/reylos are so lucky wth 😭 we really have the most talented people in our fandoms

What kind of paper do you like to print your fan fiction on??

I don't tighten as much anymore. Just a light tug. I noticed the shoulder curves easier and faster against the backing boards this way.
how do you format the text before binding?
What are the strips you put on the spines when you’re sewing them together?
linen tape
@@omgreylo do you need to put that?
