Omg I really want to learn how to do this! I'm putting book binding at the top of my list of things to do over the Christmas holidays. Not only would I love to bind some of my favourite fanfics but I recently submitted my honours thesis and would love to bind it.
ahh lovely video! just picked up a couple bookbinding books from my library so i’m hoping to get started soon :”) this is incredibly helpful so thank you!!
@@allieryan if you go into layout and select custom margins the options will be in there. There is a drop down box and one of the options is book fold. Honestly I would just google “how to create a booklet in word” any other text detail is just like formatting normally.
Hi! I'm thinking of upgrading to a laser printer, and I was wondering how yours is holding up after all the milage you put on it? I think you have a LaserJet Pro MFP M148dw (it was a little blurry so 🤷🏼♀️) and that's actually a fairly affordable laser for what you do
Inkjet is just a whole lot more expensive over time. After googling “hp laser printer” I think it’s the HP - LaserJet Pro MFP M130fw Wireless Black-and-White All-In-One Laser Printer - White. It’s $200 on Best Buy. I’m thinking about getting one too but there are $100 ones I’m gonna look at
Hello! I wanted to ask if there was any way to seal bookcloth so it doesn't get stained? I make my own bookcloth using cotton fabrics, heatnbond, and tissue paper, and I'm worried that the spines might get stained or dirtied and I'd have no way to clean them.
Sorry, I don't know of a way to seal DIY book cloth. I never thought about spines getting stained, but now that I think about it, if any of my books' spines got dirty, I wouldn't worry too much about it. You could maybe try waterproofing sprays for fabric? I've never used any of those so I don't know how it would affect the longevity of the cover.
Hi ! I love your work and I want to try to bookbind but I don't find all the materials where I am (France), I search for mull and linen tape and I can't find it. Do you have a Amazon list of what you buy online? Thank you so much for your video!

Yass! I wish I still had a copy of my thesis to bind. Definitely a great way to showcase your hard work.
That "Like Young Gods" copy you made still gets me, it's so freaking pretty
you've inspired me to write my own fic! hopefully, then I can bind it! :)

Dude I love you so much. I can't wait to support your patreon later!
I’m curious how do you create the title page.
Thank you! I can't wait to start!
please do a video on how you do the settings on ms word because i’m literally struggling 😭
^^ I've been trying to look online for this. It'd be super helpful to know a template of sorts!
If you're using a MAC just give up now lol. I have both a MAC and PC and formatting only works correctly on Word 365 for PC.
@@amandasoup1able I do!! I have word and a PC, just don't know how to configure it

What do you use adobe acrobat for? I’d love to see a video on making the book on your computer !

I know its been 4 years, but do you have links for where you bought all of this stuff?
What is the maximum amount of pages (i.e the thickest book) you are able to trim the sizes of with the guillotine?
Hi! What thickness string do you suggest? Love your work
what specific printer is that? does it matter or does it just have to be a laser printer in order to print faster?

I do! It is here: www.amazon.com/shop/omgreylo?listId=O19SH279HCW5
How do you find rolls of book cloth? Everything I'm seeing is only a sheet.
Amazon has some, also Blick. But I now prefer Duo bookcloth from TALAS that buy by the yard.
where do you get your cardstock from ? :)
From Michaels
