You are welcome! The Product Extension has gotten some updates since I filmed this so i will be doing an update in the future. If there is anything specific please let me know.

Are the parameters still available in the new design or do I need to adjust the sources(originals) first before copying

Great question Eric! If you insert an external design and then break the link, yes the parameters will come along with that design. It might get tricky if you use a common name like Thickness and you insert them into a design that already has those values. If you don't break the link you can "edit in place" but note that this can create associativities with the original design and new design.
But back on point. If you insert them into a new design and break the link you will notice that some of your parameters will get renamed with _1. so for example if both designs have Thickness you will see "Thickness" and "Thickness_1". Units will also cross over so your parameters might be a mixed bag of in and mm.
It takes some practice but if this is something you do I think spending the time to come up with a good "base" design with general plastic part features can help you out. Also note that we drew all Positive bodies, but you could also create bodies you plan to cut away. Like areas for a snap latch. Using the direct modeling tools to resize and move things around is also a great option.

What the heck is a Boss? Maybe start with defining what that is.

Screw Boss is a common plastic part and the hobby license doesn't have access to the Boss tool. It is the round plastic part in a molded design where you have hardware, things like thread forming screws.
Here is an excerpt from VEM Toolings website
"Screw bosses play a crucial role in molded parts as an attachment and assembly point. They are cylindrical protrusions that are typically located on a part’s wall and contribute to various functions such as positioning aids, fixation points, facilitating gear rotation, and acting as bearing surfaces or levers. Screw bosses are cylindrical parts with holes that can accommodate threaded inserts, screws, and other mechanical fasteners. "
