INSANE REAR ARCH MODIFICATION FOR WIDE ARCH PANDEM KIT

In this video me, John and Matt modify the BMW's rear arches to accommodate the new Pandem wide arch kit, new larger wheels and if Air Ride is fitted at a later date this modification will help the car lower to the max.
I have covered as much detail in this video step by step what you need to do for this modification. This can be done to most cars whatever the make and model.

Asbestos fingers developed over many years. I'm Matt by the way. In all honesty it's not that hot until heat sinks in after 5- 10 seconds

Great vid pal, got a question: what welder you used? I am planning to tackle my rusty rear wheel arches and weld new panels in, but I have no idea what welder I should buy for domestic use. Also no clue about welder settings LOL

Hi Steve, sorry for the late reply. The type of welder that was used is called a Mig welder, you have to do a bit of practice as you have to work out how fast and how much wire comes out whilst you are welding, look up a video and you can see what little things you need to do like preparation on the metal etc before welding. It isn't as easy as it looks but practice, practice, practice. 👍

Thank you very much, I do love the look of the Musk kit but I had to pick one and gone with the Pandem look this time. Don't worry this won't be a one off build. I have plans to build many cars. So I may build another E46 with the Musk kit then 👍

Why do you have to cut it if I don't want to lower my car do I have to cut to make a wide body

The reason why you have to cut the original arches is because the new wider arches actually sit higher then the originals so if you don't lower your car you will be able to see the original arch behind the new wider arch.

Hi Scott I hope you are well today. I got the kit from a seller in Poland. I can't remember the name but they make a number of different kits for different cars. I'm sure if you type E46 Pandem kit they will come up but I got the kit before the UK come out of the EU so costs have gone up a lot now, I struggle to find parts for good prices now because of that 👎

that cant be the correct way surely? the welding should be on a inside lip.....not on the edge....

Hi, thank you for your comment. There are many different ways to do the same job. This is the easiest way as you don't need to cut and make large sections of new metal. When we cut the arches out there is no inside lip anymore as from the factory arches are roled. But we need to cut this section out so when the wider wheels with large spacers are installed the wheel has clearance. 👍
