Thank you. This is the first reason why quake doesn't have more players. Intentionally difficult, hidden info, nothing is really clear, you get stuck into walls constantly etc. Now everything has extra lag too.. Rapha says that playing clutch is for masochists but so is playing quake, as much as i love it.
@@Wobbothe3rd intentionally hidden info, bad geometry, intentionally annoying ceilings, getting killed through teleports , getting stuck into walls is not depth you masochist. imagine thinking bad design is depth just to stroke your own ego. Such typical quake elitism. "look at me guys i play a deep game" - go f yrslf
In 2017 when the game launched, many people coming from Quake Live heated the idea of champions with different abilities, but I think it was a great idea, it brings more variety and complexity layers to the game, making it more interesting and you are able to be even more skilled. Quake Live still great, but do the same thing again and don't reinvent the game for sure would have been really boring.
Or they could just let Quake Live be without releasing QC and forcing the majority of the top players into it to stay relevant and paid. I still find QC a much inferior game. I don't really mind champions but much lower stacks with *increased* railgun damage makes no sense to me. We used to have tons of rocket-on-rocket and shaft-on-shaft fights, nowadays it's mostly who clicks whom with the railgun while other weapons are basically finishers. I hate it.
I think that champions is good as it has created more diversity for the movement, you have air control, strafe jumping, crouch sliding, and some other stuff all in the same game. However, the abilities do nothing but detract from the gameplay. If they had introduced champions but limited the differences to passives and movement qc would be a much better game.
