Death Knight's fire lasts only 3 seconds on the ground. I think in this case Raph timed it perfectly, it probably ticked over mechanically before the visual showed the fire to be completely gone.

Hm, actually, thinking about it for a few seconds more. The lagging behind bit is surely not how it works. That would be an incredibly stupid design... So take the above with a grain of salt :)

I wish this game had dedicated servers.

Maybe id software should actually listen to veteran players who know the game better than they do and fix the issues he complaining about. The sound and LG issues are things I see every day online, along with the lag on ability activation. Rapha is RIGHT.

rapha is great player, probably the best in history, but he always was whiner.. except QuakeCons, he's got crazy selfcontrol on tournaments, but when he plays online, he just should stop talking like in competitions@@Wobbothe3rd

@@Wobbothe3rd Maybe he's right, but he is the only pro player with such complaints. Yes, there are some issues with online, but come on, there is no perfect working online latency-sensitive game, because there are no perfect Internet connections and there are some other outer imperfections, that cause the game to behave like this sometimes. All QC players are under the same conditions, they deal with all the same imperfections while gaming online. I understand that Shane has a very keen sense of the game after decades of career, and these issues bother him, but why he can't realise that there are no perfect online ever?

Don’t let rapha’s emotional reaction distract from the possibility he has legitimate complaint. Anarki’s board should be audible from that distance, I believe. Perhaps there’s an event or auditing log a player can review to confirm whether that sound was produced at that moment, and at what volume. Finally, a pro player has the right to get pissed in cases like this. QuakeCon is probably a sizable chunk of rapha’s yearly income, after all.

@@50PullUps I like the idea of a log; both the server and client(s) should produce it. On the other hand, if there was such a log to review, there would be so much bickering at the end of a game they'd get nothing done in a tournament... But as a debugging tool it could be useful. I'm almost sure that such a log already exists (I know I would've added one), just not publicly available.

@@50PullUps At 7:14, their positions are reversed, we can see Raisy is moving about, but there's no board sound at all. We can hear a jump sound, so is it only the board sound that's not heard at that distance?

i don't understand. where was raisy at? seems he was hanging somewhere in the skies but bot in his front and in his back... the godslayer is now a god himself. Edit: he was on the jump pad... Had to go to 0.5 speed to see him

What i think turns people off is his way of saying things like: that's so stupid of him, should have been a "free kill" etc. He's directly or indirectly calling his adversaries stupid as if he's a robot who simply cannot miss or make a mistake. The game is infuriating and has its plethora of flaws sure but he's saying stuff completely disconsidering other player's skills.

That's why he has most wins and most money won... Because he's overrated right?

yup. the ONLY cheeser for years in a quake game and people act like him playing safe when others aren't, all the time, and cheesing all the time...is impressive.

But he's right here at least. Sg damage is completely idiotic. Sometimes it's insanely strong, sometimes it does 4/8. Qc, from a dev standpoint, is a disaster. Hopefully q5 announcement is a few days away, but who are we kidding right?
