    I don't know when we are going to get it right in this continent. Somaliland is bigger than some recognized countries in Europe like Estonia, Croatia, Czech republic etc.
    We are scared of separation but we can't live in peace.
    I am happy that Rwanda and Kenya are already leading us to the future of borderless Africa, by allowing entrance without visa.
    Nice job Jude❤

    It's because they don't have natural resources....just like you said. Somaliland has been even more peaceful than most africa countries. It goes a long way to show you that all the crisis in Africa and other countries are politically motivated with eternal influence

    My freind don't loose your sleep over somalia problems its very complicated somalia as nation suffered so much from the hands of foreigners and their own specially last 30 years so now somalia is healing and getting stronger by the day and no one clan can become a country thats why no one willing to recognize a tribe to be government and btw u are African u yourself and and can is hostage by definition so why divide a country that been through hell and now coming up 😅 well the oil somalia pulling out this year and the arm embargo that got lifted i don't see how somalia will loose to any odds

    The political obstacles to recognising Somaliland as an independent state are numerous but tough. Go talk to the Kurds in Turkey, Western Saharans in Morocco etc.
    I suggest a confederation of Somaliland & Somalia for a fixed period of say 15yrs after which each state will hold referendums asking if they want to go independent.
    Meanwhile maintain separate Police & Military force etc

    This is not unique. There are a lot of secessionist nations not recognised by the UN. The UN needs to stipulate criteria for recognition of states because it's a mess. It's basically based on foreign policy interests now, not agreed principles.

    • @benceze
      @benceze 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@skp8748 Lies. UNGA resolutions indirectly state that the parent state must commit human rights violations on the secessionist nation for it to be eligible to statehood but they don't necessarily stick to that principle for example in the case of Biafra, Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The reasons for recognizing South Sudan, East Timor, Bangladesh, Kosovo, Eritrea, Croatia are not clear in UNGA resolutions or ICJ advisory opinions, they are only distilled by academics. So the UN doesn't really have any justification for rejecting Northern Cyprus, Catalonia, Kurdistan, Aceh, etc. It's dependent on foreign policy of the powerful nations in the security council or powerful neighbors of the seceding state like Australia to East Timor or India to Bangladesh.

    • @skp8748
      @skp8748 10 หลายเดือนก่อน
