Realism isn’t everything, having a gun sound that sounds cool and unique is way better, like the revolver from bo1, like the magnum from halo CE, the intervention from mw2, I’ll take iconic gun sounds than real ones anyway
@@rommelthedesertfox3089 comes down to preference, also depends on what type of game your playing, if I’m playing battlefield which is a war sim, yeah I expect real gun sounds, but a game like cod which at least used to be An arcade shooter, I wasn’t expecting all this realism, so it was ok to have unique sounding guns

i know that the "high quality 8-d surround sound audio recorded from real guns and professional sound makers on a $24,950 mic" sounds good on paper but these are so iconic. This is what the game should be. So many people would get back into the game even for a small change like this!
@@angerami77 I never said the old sound design is objectively better since obviously the modern sound designing is higher quality, I only prefer them because they sound very recognizable and over-all don't sound generic and plastic-y.
The sounds are clunky, but it was what made them great. And the M200 is just gold Though i do prefer the click-clack sounds of some guns, they just sound so good and crisp
The guns in the OG cod4 and mw2 had such character, you could easily identify them by sound alone. Ironically with more realism in new cods, the guns are incredibly boring

Look im not gonna nitpick over sounds that ultimately dont mean alot. If my gun can shoot and kill whats infront of it, thats all i care about. Im here to have fun, since that what games are meant to be. Old games and new alike, their sounds are all equally memorable!!
