경리단길(Gyeongridan-gil)
번화가라 하기엔 조그마한 편이고, 이태원동에 속한 지역이지만 이태원과는 이질적인 분위기 때문에 유명했었다. 과거 육군중앙경리단(현재의 국군재정관리단)이 이 길 초입에 있어 경리단길이라는 이름이 붙었다. 상권은 국군재정관리단을 중심으로 언덕길과 녹사평역 방향을 따라 형성되어 있다. 근처에 외교공관도 여럿 있다.
용산미군기지와 가깝기 때문에 개발제한구역으로 묶여있던 2000년대 초까지만 해도 옆동네 해방촌과 마찬가지로 그냥 외국인 좀 많이 돌아다니는 소박한 주택가였다. 클럽, 술집 등 상업시설은 주로 이태원에 몰려있었기 때문에 당시에는 기껏해야 저렴한 밥집이나 시장밖에 없었다. 그러다가 평택으로의 미군기지 이전이 진행되면서 급속도로 식당이나 술집같은 가게들이 늘어나기 시작했다.
일반적인 식당보다는 분위기 좋은 술집이나 카페가 많아 한국에 체류하는 외국인들이 찾아오는 곳이다. 한때는 힙스터들이 많이 찾는 곳이었지만 요새는 연남동과 합정역으로 많이들 옮겨 갔으며 유명세를 타면서 그들 또한 발길을 돌렸다. 그러나 그 유명세는 어디 가지 않았는지, 이후 다른 동네나 도시 일대에 새로이 형성된 카페/술집/옷가게 골목들을 '*리단길'이라는 이름으로 불리는 일이 많아졌는데, 대표적인 예로 망원동 쪽의 망리단길, 석촌역과 석촌호수 동호 일대의 송리단길, 봉천동 쪽의 봉리단길, 수원의 행리단길, 경주의 황리단길, 순천의 옥리단길이 있다
원래 좁은 동네였기에 차도도 2차로이고 인도도 매우 좁다. 가게가 늘면서 주변의 주택을 개조해 가게를 내고 있다.
싸게 식사를 하기는 힘든 동네다. 분위기 위주의 가게가 많아 요리값이 비싼 편이다. 게다가 모텔도 거의 없기에 정말 놀러만 오는 동네이다. 이태원동의 경우엔 모텔이 10만 원에 가깝다.
It is small to call a busy street, and it belongs to Itaewon-dong, but it was famous because of its foreign atmosphere. In the past, the Army Central Accounting Group (now the Armed Forces Finance Management Group) was named Gyeongridan-gil because it was at the beginning of this road. The commercial district is formed along the direction of Noksapyeong Station and the hill road, centering on the Armed Forces Finance Management Group. There are also several diplomatic missions nearby.
Until the early 2000s, when it was tied up as a development-restricted zone because it was close to the Yongsan U.S. military base, it was just a simple residential area where many foreigners roam, just like the next town's liberation village. Since commercial facilities such as clubs and bars were mostly concentrated in Itaewon, there were only inexpensive restaurants or markets at the time. Then, as the relocation of the U.S. military base to Pyeongtaek progressed, stores such as restaurants and bars began to increase rapidly.
It is a place where foreigners staying in Korea visit because there are more bars or cafes with a good atmosphere than regular restaurants. It was once a popular place for hipsters, but many people have moved to Yeonnam-dong and Hapjeong Station these days, and they have also turned to fame. However, many new cafes/bar/clothes alleys in other towns and cities have been called the "*ridan-gil," such as Mangridan-gil in Mangwon-dong, Songridan-gil in Seokchon Station and Seokchon Lake Club, Bongridan-gil in Bongcheon-dong, and Okridan-gil in Gyeongju.
It was originally a small neighborhood, so the driveway is secondary and the sidewalk is very narrow. As the number of stores increases, the number of nearby houses is remodeling and opening stores.
It's a hard neighborhood to eat cheaply. There are many mood-oriented shops, so the cooking price is expensive. In addition, there are few motels, so it's a really fun neighborhood. In Itaewon-dong, the motel is close to 100,000 won.
