- This song makes me feel so warm and at peace ~ I hope you enjoy it!
When writing these lyrics, definitely a big question of - how true to the original do I keep? In the Japanese choruses, "(tada) aishiteru" is repeated something like 5 times, and in English it just didn't feel right :') So I put on a localization hat, and thought, if this were a song to be released in English, then how to approach it? It was a really fun exercise and I'm proud of how it turned out!

I am Japanese, but I was deeply moved by this English cover. From the lyrics, I felt a profound love for both "Trails in the Sky" and "Trails of Cold Steel." I was especially touched by the translation of the initial "ただ愛している" as "Dearest you, my sky, my love." Thank you for the beautiful translation.

my only experience with this series was downloading the demo on my switch.
never got to the actual game as I ended up elbow deep in the data section covering the words, items, and history and reading what transpired in the previous games....and damn was I annoyed in finding out that no matter what, no matter how hard these young adult fought and survived they had they happy ending ripped out from under them in the end each bloody time.
Thank you for this video, for it sets my heart at ease and puts a smile on my face, knowing these young heroes finally FINALLY get to be happy and see an end to things. I am so happy to see so many happy, laughing, talking, and just enjoying their new beginning as they move forward.

You do know that the song plays in the normal ending, right? It's "Radiant Hope" in this ending (The only difference being that the normal ending has no graphic in there, as opposed to this ending

The words were disigned very close to the orginal and works great as English song, Great work. I never like songs which keep rounding same words again and agian, but when I finished End of Saga and relisten this song. Everthing Rean had gone through in both Normal end and True end just flashed in my heads. As a player gone through all these with Rean, nobody would not like Ai no Uta. 🥲
I finished Cold Steel IV yesterday night. I didn't want to listen to this till I'd heard the original in the game -- worth the wait; this might be my favorite Trails cover of yours!

This song does a lot for me, it calms me down and just brings me to a good head space, it also gets my brain going as I'm writing a fanfic for Trails so I can picture this song for one of my pairings. the moment this popped up last month i put it to watch later given i haven't finished Cold Steel 4 yet, tho after i just binged the game in the last 2 weeks I finally got the chance watch this and i have to say you nailed it. Pretty good even and personally i would say you nailed it even better then the actual Song. I broke down in tears after the first listeninig because of now knowing the exactly the meaning of this Song and how fitting it was for the Ending. Thanks you sooo much for covering this song, it blessed my day.

This song has a double meaning. SPOILERS FOR CS4'S ENDING
The game has 2 endings, a "normal" ending and a "true" ending. In the normal ending, Rean dies by driving his corrupting Valimar out of the atmosphere to kill Ishmelga, thus sacrificing himself. In that ending's context, the song represents that even though a close friend and maybe loved one is now no more, losses like that and grieving are one of the inevitabilities of life, and the best thing one can do is gently move on from it, paying homage to the good memories of yore. "There are good times and bad times, let's walk through life together."
In the true ending, Rean manages to kill Ishmelga in his own realm by using Millium in her sword incarnation, that he can use cause an artifact offered to him by Argnar, one of Aidios' gifts in the form of an ancient dragon, lets him break free from Ishmelga's hold. In the context of that ending, the song refers more to Olivert's and Scherazard's resolve as a couple, as well as the resolve of all the other characters, and thus the song becomes more somber than sad, giving a gentle goodbye to a 300 hour journey through Erebonia, through all the turmoil and the struggle with the bright moments shining through, all to end to this event. It's a song that reminds that even if everyone splits, so long as they keep in touch, so long as each other's spirit lingers in each other's memory and soul, such a thing as "forgetting them" is impossible. "There are good times and bad times, let's walk through life together." _No matter what the ordeals of life, we're walking through the trail of life, bonded._
Cold Steel 4 for me made these 3 years of playing Cold Steel along with Trails all the more worthwhile. Thank you to Falcom for the great moments. And for teaching me a lot of things about bonds I needed to be reminded of.

Apart from the very end, the normal ending didn't have a graphic, cutting to black after you see the effects that it has on Class VII and his other friends
I will be honest this song felt like a godsend after beating cold steel 4 still crying over here just pure emotional tear after 4 games.

They probably changed the translation in English, that's not the first time after all ("Ao no Kiseki" would translate to "Trails To Blue", instead of "Trails To Azure", and "Hajimari No Kiseki" was renamed from "Trails Of Beginnings" to "Trails into Reverie"
