I loved every single Kiseki, but the first two trails in the sky are really special. It's really easy to fall in love with this serie with Trails in the Sky.
I wish this got more attention. This series has so many amazing vocal tracks, but since it's pretty obscure you don't really see any cover artists doing takes on them. So it's wonderful that literally the only English covers for this series on TH-cam are so fantastically performed.
This song will always reminds me, that even in despair there's still a sliver light of hope. Call it catchy or copypasta whatever. But I won't change my wordings.
I put around 600 hours to the trails in the sky trilogy, and the story of Estelle and Joshua was truly a must-have experience for everyone. The amount of world building and character building put even some of the longest books to shame; the entire script of trails in the sky First chapter is 1.5 times the length of the bible because every NPCs in town has their own story to tell. I suggest you watch the video of Mother's basement named "How a Japanese Indie Studio Kicks Bethesda's Butt at World-Building ," he explains the appeal of this series better than anybody.
i feel the same and the video was a good one. when the developers care enough to give EVERY CHEST IN THE GAME dialoged then you just have to admit that they are going up and beyond to bring the best experience one can get
BIG props to you for being very very faithful to the original Japanese lyrics. As much as I love XSeed and the work they did on Trails in the Sky's localization, it always rubbed me the wrong way that they'd add more meanings and words to the original script that change my perception of some characters every so slightly. Estelle is so much more focused in her words in Japanese, but in the English translations, the rephrased script sometimes don't capture the same intensity as the Japanese version (the scene where Estelle convinces Joshua to leave after the last boss comes to mind). This said, your beautiful vocal performance combined with your fantastic translation is just wonderful!
How...how is this possible? It's only been half a year since I finished Trails in the Sky SC, yet this song makes me soooo nostalgic. I guess this is how you can tell whether a story is good or not. If it makes you want to forget everything about it and just experience it all over again, you've stumbled upon a masterpiece. That's what this series is in my opinion: a masterpiece. It's a journey no other story will ever replace. That is, unless Falcom can outdo themselves, which I doubt.

@@amircurgu3720 Everyone always gets stuck on the Third, usually because of all the Doors. If you haven't already by now, I'd strongly encourage you to power through and watch all the Star and Moon doors, it has critical lore to the future arcs. The Crossbell Arc is so extraordinarily brilliant.
I gave up because I hated the dungeon crawler gameplay, so I just watched the rest of the cutscenes and Doors on TH-cam. I really liked the story but I personally prefer SC. I really should play the Crossbell games since I've heard so many good things, but I'm currently reading the visual novels of Higurashi and Umineko, so maybe I'll play Zero no Kiseki after those.

Even with the new Trails of Steel out, I still love the original trails in the sky trilogy! You should do a version that uses the OVA's instrumental too! I know it would sound incredible if you sing this song with the remastered instrumental!

Not sure if you ever plan to revisit the Kiseki series, but two songs I'd recommend are "I'll Remember You" from Trails of Cold Steel 2 and "Maybe It Was Fated" from Trails in the Sky SC.
