Oh I’m liking China more and more! Travel vlogs are the best way to actually see a country especially when the vloggers are so lovely and happy 😊. This is a beautiful city and big as it is, it still looks like a relaxing vibe. 🥰😘

🙏Thank you for mentioning the key role Kunming played in WW2. One fun fact about that part of history: The US 14th Air force (was known as American Volunteer Group aka AVG or the flying tiger) was established during that time in Kunming, and the old Kunming Wujiaba Airport was used as their base. I believe there is still a flying tiger memorial museum in central Kunming.

From 8:10 to 9:10, I just cannot help. I must highly highly highly praise this video with my full heart. The history of the Chinese part of WWII has been long forgotten in the west, but the Chinses people still firmly remember it. It was a part of the century of humiliation. Thank you very very much for bringing this up. Thank you again.

Julia and Matt - You are the best travel vloggers on you tube! I've seen all of your videos and China, through your lens, has been an eye-opener. The public parks are amazing. Kunming is just lovely...the rose pastry is a mystery to me...I'm glad that you take the time to show the food that you are discovering along the way. I didn't expect to see so much beauty in these cities and they are so clean and lively. And for now, you've got a break in the weather. You've earned it. (I caught sight of a Tory Burch store!) Love to You Both, Suzi

23:17 The street lights you see are actually designed based on the shape of a magnolia flower. Magnolia flowers are widely distributed in China, including white magnolia flowers and purple magnolia flowers. There are two flowering periods a year, usually from February to March and from July to September. Very beautiful.

Listening to many TH-camrs from China, the most dangerous thing in that country is the traffic, it seems that it is not a problem in this city. It is really good to see both of you read up about the places you visit in China. It makes the visits so much more interesting and meaningful. Knowing the culture may explain a bit more why certain things are done certain ways and why they differ from the West. But of course too many Western articles/media are not 100% accurate. You can always ask the locals.

But it was USA that helped Japan to invade China to begin with. Half of the munitions Japan used to invade China were supplied by USA. USA did nothing in the Japanese Nanking incident, USA refused to help Chinese victims!
The military Japan sent to invade China had been trained by USA!
Japan and USA were allies until Japan suddenly attacked Pearl Harbor. Yamamoto, the naval general who led the naval fleet to attack Pearl Harbor had been trained by USA, he was personally brought by the USA government to USA to get trained at the US Naval Academy!
Flying Tiger was not connected to the USA government, it was a private mercenary business! Many of those Flying Tiger pilots were WW1 veterans who were unemployed.

You can also explore a pretty interesting night market at the Luosiwan subway station, where many people sell clothes and food. It's a large area and quite enjoyable. It's not at all, people are friendly. There is a 144 hours (6 days) transit visa free entry which is enough time to visit a couple of cities. The difficult part is probably mobile payments. Cash is hardly used in China and mobile payments is the predominant form of payments so for visitors downloading a WeChat app and get their payment card linked to the app would make things a lot easier. Language wise, locals will use their mobile phones to translate. Most western tourists visit the big cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing. But Lijiang, Dali in Yunan are beautiful places in Yunnan. The landscape of the movie Avatar is based on a place called Zhangjiajie. There are lots of ancient towns and town along canals like Tongli, Wuzhen, Zhouzhuang. Furong is also a lovely place. There are lots of travel videos here on these places.

Not sure why you are blaming Western education. The Sino-Japanese War, as part of Japenese expansionism prior to WW2, is a well known and well documented part of world history. When Japan threatened Burma and India during WW2 naturally Britain spearheaded a campaign across the whole area. As for Poland - first Germany invaded, which sparked the beginning of the war; then very soon after Russia invaded and claimed the eastern sector so poor Poland got it from both sides.

Common practice in East Asia is to not stick your chopsticks into a bowl of noodles or rice. Lay them horizontally on top of the bowl. I am glad you enjoyed your local Yunnan noodle dish. generally speaking, all factories are well spreaded in rurual areas and industry zones, so not ez to spot for random tourists. Like there is a mining town(with around 50k population) 50~km away from Kunming named Annin, providing steels and some other ores to city

      Naaaaaah...
I bet you brought up Mao's killing millions of Chinese which was not intentional as those who died were from starvation from natural disasters.
      👇👇👇
Should I remind you the following :
The US and its allies (Australia, British, Canada, Denmark, France) actually have a hand in those deaths as Mao's request to import food from the US and it's allies was denied due to sanctions.
Your American and its allies sanctions and embargoes had much to do with China's famines at that time.
      👇👇👇
Recently, the US and its lapdogs are still doing the same things to Iran, Cuba and Venezuela when these countries are denied importation of medications etc.
      👇👇☝
Why don't you talk about the intentional murder of millions of Native Indians by the Americans and its allies or about the slavery of the blacks by the US?
      👇👇👇
I suggest you checked how many blacks were murdered, raped and brutally treated by the Americans.
      👇👇👇
Do you realize how many countries are sanctioned by the US?
      👇👇👇
The biggest serial killers in human history :*did not occur in Nazy, Germany..*nor in Mao , _china.. !
      but on :
      👉 America soil.!!!
      and...
      👉 India soil
      👇👇👇
More than 100 million native Indian were slaughtered and lost their homeland by the white Americans.!!
      And...
More than 150 million 🇮🇳👳 were killed by the British empire.
      👇👇👇
Historical Fact :" most of the people doing the serial killers were the CHRISTIANS !!
      👇👇👇
      Can you handle the truth.??

Do travel out like the bloggers here instead of overconsuming your media propaganda from down the basement of your folks' home before the world passes you by. Tryanny is a country that supports another country that bombs the hell of other countries for what is now classified as genocide by the international criminal court.
