You can sign up for their free trial here: app.plantoeat.com/hi/letseatplants and then sign up for the Learning Series which is a 5-week email course. 🙌🏻🙌🏻 (Use this link: app.plantoeat.com/hi/learn after you've signed up for the free trial, as you'll need a Plan to Eat account to sign up.) Enjoy!
@LetsEatPlants - if I signed up for the plan to eat - is there a way to link you as a friend? Do you share recipes on it or is it for your private use?
@maryf.8840 Hey Mary! Yes, you can absolutely link me as a friend! My username is letseatplants 😃 (From the menu there should be a friends section where you can "Add Friends") I've just been using it for myself as of now, but perhaps I will be sharing recipes on there later. (Still converting all my pen & paper recipes over as of now. 😜)
Prepping ingredients instead of meals has been an absolute game changer for us sticking to healthy meals throughout the week. Thank you so much for your invaluable content. ❤
I had a friend who worked at Taco Bell back in the 80s. He mentioned that it was just the same basic ingredients in different combinations. You can make a lot of "different" meals by using the same core and swapping the stuff around it. Noodles with tomato sauce is Italian. Noodles with teriyaki is Asian. Etc. Look for a versatile core.
Love the video! Prepping veggies makes things much less stressful during the week. Freezing tofu is great, but freezing, thawing & freezing AGAIN really amps up the texture if you are looking for a "meaty" substitute. The tofu tears into chunks or strips very easily. I do this when making Chicken-less Poppers for dipping on game day. Cheers!
Oooh, I haven't tried the double freezing yet! I've seen it a few times before but haven't taken the effort to actually do it. Might have to give it a go! Thanks for the suggestion! 😋
NOFRILLS! I can't tell you how excited I was to realize one of my favorite creators is Canadian too 😊 Love from Ontario in the Niagara region! That app looks like exactly the kind of thing I've been looking for honestly. I built something like it in Notion but I might need to check it out
Awww yay! Hi neighbor! Hahaha omg I love No Frills. I do most of my shopping there. 😆 The app is honestly just what I had been looking for too. 😅 It's really useful for importing recipes since most of them I find while scrolling on my phone, and then of course organizing meal ideas, easily changing serving sizes, getting a shopping list made automatically, etc. I just love the seamlessness of it all. Let me know what you think when you give it a try!
I had used a corn starch slurry to bread some zucchini instead of using egg. Mix the corn starch and water, microwave briefly, then use it to wet the veggies before dipping in the breading (I had panko mixed with chili seasonings). Air fry or convention oven until brown.
Ooh like a more salad specific prep? That’s a great idea! Probably later spring that would be good when the weather is warmer. 😃😃 Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks for another great video! I'm doing the trial of the website and app and I think it could really be helpful with planning meals for the long term. For example, I think I will create monthly menus that change in variety with the seasons. I cook very simply so the meals I will add will be easy, healthy and include variety. I'm very excited about this and hopefully can build something that will be very easy to use....after the learning curve of getting used to it. :)
Wohoo! I’m glad to hear you’re doing the trial and enjoying it so far! Yes, totally agree there’s a bit of a learning curve to get the most of all the features… but I’m really loving it too. It’s been really helpful for me to have everything planned out digitally.. not to mention all my recipes so conveniently stored. 😀😀
I like to prep and add one kitchen paper inside of the container just to get any extra moist and keep the fruits and veggies fresh for longer. Great tips, loved the video :)
Thank you for the request! I haven’t done one in a while because I felt like I was always just buying the same things. 😆😆 But now with inflation I have changed a couple things I buy there so it would be good to do an updated haul. 😊
Aww thank you! I'm so glad to hear that. 🤗 The hedgehog apron was actually gifted to me by a friend a long time ago! I've looked and looked to find similar ones but haven't been able to find one as of yet. 😔
How much corn starch do you add to your baked tofu marinade? Thanks! (I have been doing the tofu "freeze thaw squeeze" method for 12 years - Gives it a FAR superior texture. I WISH restaurants knew to do that - theirs is always SO soft...Ewww.)
Right!? Vegans need to teach the restaurants a few of our techniques. 😂😂 I usually use about 1 Tablespoon per block of tofu (so if I double the recipe I'll use 2), or if anything, just a bit less. Basically enough to lightly coat the pieces. 😊
Great ideas as usual, but no way I can afford the meal planner app. I like how you batch prep rather than the same thing for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hubby and I just don't eat the same thing more than twice in a week. And I'm getting to the point where we have plenty of food, but I am just running out of ideas as to what to fix. I know it's first world problems, but food fatigue is real!
Haha I hear you with the food fatigue Betty! I’ve been going through a bit of that myself. Definitely working on some more fast & easy ideas just to have some variety. 😊 The meal planner app is a great tool, but I totally understand if it’s not for you! I just like to share helpful tools as I come across them. ☺️
How do you keep your baby cucumbers from getting wrinkly and growing mold after a few days? I keep them whole, in the bag they came in. Maybe it’s just the quality we have here 🤨
The ones I don’t wash I find keep for at least a week untouched actually… so perhaps it is the quality of cucumbers. But definitely once they’re washed and cut they only last about 3-5 days. 😊
If they’re going moldy in their original packaging, I might try taking them out and wrapping them in a paper towel or tea towel and then in a Tupperware, because it sounds like they’re too moist in the bag! So keep them unwashed but try wrapping them and see if that helps. ☺️
That app looks cool but something like that would have been $0.99 on the app store 5 years ago. Now you need to pay $50 / year?! Why is it a subscription??
Great answers here! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 $50 a year is actually quite reasonable as it’s only around $4/mo. but I do understand it’s not for everyone. I just like to share helpful tools as I come across them! 😊
Actually, there are a few apps like this one. Here is what the website says: How much does Plan to Eat cost? It’s $5.95/month or $49/year. We do not ask for credit card information before starting a free 14-day trial. We have a 60-day, no-questions-asked refund policy. And by default, we do not automatically bill you when your yearly subscription expires. ……….. This looks like a great app, but unfortunately I’m on a tight budget and paying for other things, like Prime & Britbox. So I have to stop and continue with pen & paper. These monthly bills are financial killers.
I love plan to eat! We've been using it since 2014 probably. They have a 50% off sale every Black Friday weekend, which is when I always renew. What's your username, Maddie? Maybe we can be plan to eat friends? I'm Kelitapetita
@@LetsEatPlants ok, I'll find you on PtE! I have a lot of Omni meals as well as plant-based meals saved because my family likes meat. I have a lot of vegan baked goods saved because my son is allergic to dairy and eggs!

Love your videos and your encouraging manner. Thank you
Aww I'm so glad to hear that! You're very welcome 🤗
I wish my fridge looked like yours! Thanks for great video! Happy new year. Looking forward to your videos Maddie.
It definitely can! I promise it’s easy. 😄 You’re very welcome and happy new year to you too! 🥳
I'd love to have that good of lighting in my kitchen!
@@Insightfill Hahaha I’m always complaining about the lighting in my kitchen actually! There’s only one window so I feel it’s kinda dark. 😆🙈

Good idea on the corn starch for the breading!

Yea I’ve started using it a lot more this year, it’s quite versatile! Similar to your breading on zucchini, I’ve also used it to make French toast. 😃
I love your videos. Could you please make a video about how to prepare ahead of time to do many raw salads for the week? Thank you
Ooh like a more salad specific prep? That’s a great idea! Probably later spring that would be good when the weather is warmer. 😃😃 Thanks for the suggestion!

🥰🥰 Thank you Francisca! Love getting comments from you!
Great prep advice!🧡 Sadly, I haven't seen the Ajika seasoning (or the "In a Pickle" one) at Trader Joe's for a while.😢
Oh no! I got that one back in March, but haven’t checked for it since then. 😢😢
Thanks 👍 Maddie for another helpful and inspiring video. Love 🥰 the video and love 💞 Maddie & ❤Q.

Is this app $49 or $490/yr?
$49 without the discount! So 25% off of the $49. 😊😊
I saw that too. The web site says "$49.0" which caught my eye. Makes sense.
That app looks cool but something like that would have been $0.99 on the app store 5 years ago. Now you need to pay $50 / year?! Why is it a subscription??
If you knew a developer and how much time goes into an app not sure that would be a question.
It will continually be maintained and updated. You have to pay the people doing the maintaining.
