Shot-for-shot parody of the brutally earnest Canadian Heritage Minute in which the head of the school house rips the teacher for showing her students how to read.
I've been looking for this video for years. I've always referred to this as the "ointment cheese" commercial. The subtle humour at the end, with the voice-over's mispronunciation of 'read', is great. That is one part I never noticed when this was originally shown on the Comedy Network.
Sacrilege Moments: Proof that we Canadians never have and never will, take ourselves too seriously. I'm so glad that I'm a Canadian. We really are a lucky bunch, eh? 😁

The mispronunciation of both 'read' and 'write' (pronouncing the w) never fails to make me laugh.

Dee Easton lmao I remember laughing at that part of the parody the most hahaha
When she says “no shite” I lost it completely….
"Millions of Canadians have learned to read (*past tense use of the word*) and write in our public school system."
haha "yeah, no shit"
Best Video Ever
Nailed it.
I remember these from my childhood. The flag video is the best.
