Did you...did you guys Royal Release each other?
Royal Release damages if it doesn't counter. Since it does damage they pretty much countered each other.
+MochiXSCX Correct me if I'm wrong, but Royal Release (the same thing as Just Release in DMC3) is specifically the counter, right? Royal Release is when you press up on the left thumbstick and the style button right before you take damage, draining the rage meter and doing extra damage in addition to negating all damage you would have taken from the attack. My question is, since it has to be completed right before you take damage, how did they manage to Royal Release each other's Royal Release? Is donguri just that good, or am I an idiot and missing something? Probably both.
You can do a royal release with 0 charge. If that is what you were asking.

B.Dante did attack since Release itself does damage, but since they both use Release at the same time the game registered both damage entities; therefore initiating a double Royal Release

wow donguri is a master with every character. But he is untouchable with Vergil. which means Dante is underpowered

Is the first piece of music from persona 4 ? Its lovely, but it just doesnt match dmc well. No offence. The second one is great, recalled all my memory of fighting Vergil in dmc3. The most mazing dmc video I ve ever enjoyed. Were the sparda twins paid well enough, they hv worked so hard ? XD

I played this game long time ago. (like 3 years)
It was called Guard flying. You had to do enemy step after specific attack and to change direction you had to do air hike and use royal guard.
I am bad at explaining so I suggest to look for this somewhere.
its guard flying but in devil trigger you have 2 jumps, so he does a jump cancel (enemy hike) flies with guard, and does the same with other 2 jumps and tps back to sanctus with air hike to do another jump cancel which resets the cycle

It's a shame dmc5 boss dante spams royal revenge, he would be better if he didn't, in dmc4 he blocks and then release, it makes more sense.

donguri is the fastest and most perfect royal guard user I have seen, he perfectly blocks any attack, even in the 1st battle when the bug used his energy drain donguri blocked it.
