The mark of a true musician is when he/she is a channel thru which musical expression just flows. My eyes watered a bit watching this. Many of his younger fans may not appreciate his guitar playing, but then again, i hope i am wrong. I hope they do get it. That was one of the most soulful solos i have heard in a long time. Beautiful John and so is your music and you as a human being. Thank you for posting this whoever you are, great tickets! And thank you John for sharing your gifts with the world. I truly love your work!
Absolutely agree...”the musical expression just flows.” He is simply amazing. This was among THE best shows I’ve ever seen. Was so struck by the diversity of the audience, young, old, all colors shapes and sizes and undoubtedly all backgrounds and beliefs.....and everyone was SO engaged. It was beautiful thing to witness. John Mayer embodies what music is all about. He has a way of touching everyone. I’m so grateful for him. His music has seem me through so much. I’m delighted that SO many people appreciate him the way I do and the way he deserves to be appreciated. Musicianship at its finest. Thanks to the person who posted this video! ❤️
7:17 - 17:24 When he gets down low in the register on the strings.... The Black 1 quacks like only a Fender Strat can. Yes, 13 years of time warp, back to the 2006 tours and Continuum, albeit not quite the full band with horn section, but I've noticed John Mayer has definitely been "back" since I saw him on tour in 2017. Back with his voice, back with his vocals, practically back to when he was at his azimuth. Glad to hear his appreciation of the fans... and he's sincere about it.
I gotta say as a guitarist and singer myself, John Mayer is one of my biggest inspirations in music. After listening to his music when I was 8, it opened me to many other great and talented music artists like hendrix for example. John, if you are reading this I just want to say thank you for inspiring us all to follow our dreams and do what we love. ✌
i m so touched, and even better when he picked up the black one. I saw him live in Toronto on 31st and seeing him is one of the must-do of my life, that came true.
Gets me everytime... Heaven... Love...eternity...I would die for that guitar... I love this song... I love life... John... Thank you...Thank you for being on My Journey... I fuckin' love you.
By far The Best gravity solo he has ever done. He was all over that fucking guitar. All over it. I love the singer's when they do their thing, but him having that time, was priceless for those that got to see it live. See you in Charlotte! Then God willing. MEXICO with the Dead! Love you brother.
What a beautiful night. What an amazing performance. I was lucky enough to be there. Thank you for posting this. I can relive the magic over and over ✨♥️✨
I second everything you said. It was a perfectly magical night! Bday gift from my awesome sister....knew it would be amazing but we had no idea how incredibly special this show would be. My heart soared! So happy this amazing performance was captured so we can enjoy it again and again. ❤️

That is true, but I feel like John is one of the most multi-faceted guitarists of the last 20 years. Blues, Rock, Soul, and Country, the man has mastered them all pretty well. I don't see John as a metal player, but his confidence, rhythm, and technical ability are second to none.
he's mixing major and minor. in the key of G Major he's bending 17th Fret B string up a note merging into Gm Pentatonic which over a C chord sounds epic.
Im blown away bay that amazing solo. Thank go for jerry garcia and dead & Co, turned this wide eyed ego maniac into one of the best musicians ive ever heard.
BigChedda Cheese He has always been an incredible talent, and was solidly on a journey to his true self before Dead & Co. But , since that amazing collaboration began , I hear the influence and his music has become even more richly layered. JM is just amazing in every way.
John Mayer has certainly developed a Garcia fell since playing with The Dead Co, much more confidence on subtlety and finesses , finding those sweet spots and dancing with them like Jerry used to. Ok its not Jerry, but I think Mayer is exploring the jazz hybrids more and less the blues.
One of the best guitarist of our time and ever
The man is back. Made me tear up.
Fradi.hu
just....changing.....
Nothing in the world can replace this man's relationship with this guitar. Specially this one. They're simply made for eachother.
How lucky is that audience to hear John Mayer play live 😊❤

naw i still think the LA one is better
Summer 2019, so far was a great experience to enjoy JM concert, it was so magical .
that BEND @ 1:41 is enough to explain John Mayer's state of mind......... he is Genius
I felt that in my soul.
The man is on fire!!

The coolest guy alive.
I wanna be reborn as one of johns guitars...
Please put out a live album! Thanks for the post
Grateful Dead influence has been good to John
I feel it's rounded him out even more, in a very good way.

As much as I love the Silver Sky, there’s just something about the Strat. Nothing will beat the strat
Silver sky sounds dull compared to the Black One
Did someone say “take your shirt off”?
Nah I’m pretty sure they said take your pants off
Guy in front of me kept saying that all night
before the pandemic hit us...this is a great show
i want this feeeeling tooooo T_T
💔💔💔
6:56 damn that lick
does anyone know what notes he is playing at 8:27-8:33 pls let me know

Where is the silversky🤷♂️this is the real John Mayer Fender strat

1:09 - 1:18 beautiful
Dhimas Anggoro that intro is so beautiful I swearrrr.
Yes, swear on jesus!
Oh man, that intro seriously moved me.
that tune at 1:06 is so familiar! anyone knows where it's from?
Rashley Yeremia I completely agree with you. Have you figured it out? I still haven’t, and it’s so beautiful
@@mymeatjuice nah I haven't and it bugs me!

is there an official video for this? this is awesome
6:50
Ya that guys not pretending to play blues...
black1 sounds so much better than any of them silver skies
Now that I hear it, there is a ton of Jeff Buckley feel in this track.
Is there a way to trick trump supporters into thinking they are attending a trump rally but it's really a John Mayer concert?
