    Thank you for the setup and play through....was struggling to get my head around some of the concepts, did you use the updated revised rulebook on BGG by the way?

      Thanks for watching! Shoot I did not I had assumed the 2nd edition would have beret rules? Maybe not. Let me know if you see mistakes!

    I have been interested this game since the first edition. I think the board is the biggest improvement over just having random piles. I'm looking forward to giving this a shot some time. I have heard negative comments about the rulebook. Is it okay?

      the rulebook is 10 times better than the first edition. It was silly they did not include instructions with the expansion and that is how I missed at you should swap the new villagers... Still it is much better and I really like this one.

    I like the simultaneous play. Less downtime for sure. Not being able to trash cards, and instead drawing extras sort of, is an odd twist.

      Yeah it is interesting, however the time you save for all playing at one time, you loose in shuffling both your deck, and the village deck :) Still a great game IMO!

    Excuse my ignorance, completely new at SR,2nd Ed. but it was mentioned about getting rid of Corpses that it requires one of two things. One being a Gravedigger th-cam.com/video/ch_11NuN_t8/w-d-xo.html#t=16m16s but I have looked through the cards in the decks reasonably well but I've not found this card; what am I missing?
    TIA :)

    A lot more complex than many other deckbuilders I've played, but that added complexity seems like it would be worth the extra time to learn. Also, looks like it would make it more replayable, I think.

      It would definitely be a gamers' game, taking 20 minutes just to get to the point where you can start the game. All the reading involved in each different card, having to work through all the ways to play, the various game-ending factors. That being said, after the first game, I'm sure it would be significantly smoother and more enjoyable

      More replayable, more fun, you name it! I love this one!

    I took a gamble since many reviews did say it was/is a really great deck building game but I didn't pay attention to the fine print.... meaning the manual absolutely is rather loosely organise. . . . . read as rubbish ;)
    To mention upfront - I'm looking to play this solo first then maybe I'll bring the family but this one's a challenge.
    Really appreciate the great video but I'd be super grateful for an additional tips on single role play for this, it looks great if I can ever gets started ugh...

    Why is this 2nd edition so expensive ? It costs 75 pounds sterling.
    Pathfinder is cheaper and great.
    What do you think ?
    I was on the verge of buying Shadowrift because I like card games......hey, not now !
    Kind regards.

      75 pounds!!! Agh! I think Game Salute only does limited print runs and this is why it is so expensive... I got it for $35.... Sorry. Pathfinder is great too though just much more of a skill check game. You build a deck but it is more of a campaign style. Hope that helps!

      I'm not sure how much better 2nd edition is more than 1st edition, but as of the time of this posting, there is a 1st edition version of this game on eBay for $25. (www.ebay.com/itm/SHADOWRIFT-Cooperative-Deck-Builder-card-game-/322551571814?hash=item4b19926566:g:3m8AAOSwlMFZNG11)

      There are two of them on there for about the same price, actually, so maybe it's not such an uncommon thing

    This looks very much like it evolved from a co-op variant of Thunderstone...

    nice table mat , but I don't think this is one for me.

    • @OneStopCoopShop

      Totally understand, but do you care to elaborate? Is it because it is a deckbuilder? Just curious!

    • @FEBear1

      One Stop Co-op Shop That's exactly it. Dominion has put me off them for life.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is such a bummer! Here is the thing, Dominion is not the best deckbuilder out there. I have played it and this game is much better. First off, there is no victory points in this game. Instead you are defeating monsters, recruiting villagers, building walls, it is so much cooler! Second of all, since this is cooperative, everyone is working together and you won't hate your teammates after the game :)
      In all honesty, this is a great deckbuilder but I understand how a game can be a turn off to a genre. Just wish you would give it a shot as it is NOT dominion, and is nothing like dominion! :)

      Truly, I played Dominion a few times and I can say that sitting there watching someone build up their engine and proceed to play every card in his deck is one of the most soulless experiences I've had in a game. I'd rather play a Euro, and I'm not keen on Euros at all.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I completely get that!! And games like Marvel Legendary can do this. However if you watch this playthrough you will see that this game is nothing like that. all turns are played at the same time, and there is no way to make a deck engine.
