    With the amount of tools involve , I will never get to do this . But it’s a great hack and the console looks awesome 🤩

      Thanks! You can buy wood that is already milled and glue your own panels with minimal tools to accomplish a similar look. 🍊

    The first half of the th-cam.com/users/postUgkx3ICSK6nSknaL_45CU2NmFSoXjarGMDiJ book is everything about wood: types, tools, finishes, setting up shop etc. The second half is all about doing projects for inside and outside of the home. The color pictures are helpful. After reading a dozen of these types of books, this is probably the best overall (layout, color photos, plans). Only detraction is that many of the projects use a table saw/router/planer, which are usually expensive and take up space, so the plans are less friendly to newcomers and the budget conscious. But I know I can use a drill, circular saw or a jigsaw to make the projects.

    You are a savior, I mounted my Tv stand with only screws and unfortunately my stand fell few days ago and widen holes that I’ve made with screws 🙃🙃
    I’ve been trying to figure out a way to put back the floating stand. Wasn’t keen to recreate holes in the wall for it to fall again and I came across your video. God is good 😮!
    Running to my home supplies store, I found a board left by previous occupants, just need to buy a saw!

    This is not DIY. This is DIM (Do it Myself). You are a semi Professional with an entire woodworking shop. DIY Projects should only need a Skill saw and jig saw. Maybe a miter saw. Non the less, looks great, I'm jealous.

    • @TheAwesomeOrange
      @TheAwesomeOrange  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! And yeah with the barn wood it isn’t DIY. But I do see the build as a DIY with the Ikea hack portion and making your own custom drawer fronts… maybe plywood, purchasing premilled wood etc. I really just hope it inspires people to pick up some tools and try. Have an awesome day! 🍊

    I think that turned out pretty neat! I'm learning so much from you!!
    I do think it's questionable if you really needed that one piece that's against the corner. Your entire console now went from being centered to off-centered. Not sure if that was the intention.

    I just bought, and built this same unit. The metal cleats don't line up to the studs, and the cleat placement isn't standard width (compared to the wall studs.) How did you get around this?
