- Harley-Davidson FXRT Build (Pt.13) Evolution Engine Stud Install...We are back after a couple weeks off on the Harley-Davidson FXRT build. Some parts are rolling in ready for install. Each of the parts require a specialized tool. Harley’s evolution engine cylinder studs are no exceptions. We go cover a bit of some history on the Evolution engine and their differences. Plus a tool I made that could save you a lot of pain and money. #fxr #harleyfxr #harleydavidsonfxr

Yes! Back to the FXRT! Love this series my friend. Can't wait to see the finished product.
You and me both! I'm trying to lay out everything in depth so it has some context into why or what. Thank you for watching my friend!!
Very cool! This has been a good series so far. 🤘
Thank you!! Its a long process I'm trying to get every detail in it. Thank you for watching Mike, I hope all is well!
Thanks for sharing my 96 flhtc has 20k and needs base gaskets ,will be on lift this winter.
Good luck!
I do everything different, Gasket,lock nut,thread lock ....thread lock....✌
That's pretty much how I planned it at first, the manual talks about it weakening the threads by doing that. But only time will tell!
Thread lock is nasty crystalline stuff..half a bb of silicone on the bottom of the stud really helps vibes and keeps it there proper, the red expansion is OK ,but there are better, clean Threads first, silicone will always blow out with wd40 and never fek your insert, it's all about vibration, every bolt...washer..cable..vibes man ...and isolation ...💪🇮🇲✌
Hi... I'm trying to understand what you said about the studs on the first generation evo motor.. my studs have a hollow top section with threads inside where the head bolts are solid bolts that thread inside the top of the cylinder studs. ( The head bolts are male and the cylinder studs are female). Is that what you were talking about ?.. because I cannot find anyone who can identify what design my cylinder studs are. Thanks man.
Correct, you can use the older studs. The only problem you have is them being torqued on and weaking the threads.
