Because in comparison you see without UV the CPU power goes to 50W so 90c+ temperatures but after UV it comes to 31W so less temperature. So if you directly underwatt the CPU to 31-40W it gives the same results without the fear of bsod n unstable Undervolt
Can you try in next video that you do this undervolting + change short power boost to 90W instead of 107W and to 65 on long? If you also combine it with changing turbo limit on all cores to 3.8 or 3.7, I guarantee you achieve at least 10c lower temps with no throttling and power loss.
Balkeet007 yeah you are right i did this video for someone who asked me to undervolt with107&70, but i always prefer to underwat even it has power limit throttling sometimes.
Even on a gaming PC, you don’t really need to enable the “High performance” power plan. It won’t make your CPU any faster. Your CPU will automatically ramp up to top speed when you’re running a demanding game. High Performance may just run your CPU at a higher clock speed for longer, which would generate more heat and noise.
In my case I have a Y540 I7 9750H with RTX 2060 8GB and 16GB ram. it doesn’t matter the game the temperature is around 60°C - 65°C (with Cooling Pad). Ideal CPU Temperature While Gaming Whether you have an AMD or Intel processor, temperature thresholds vary greatly. These days the optimal CPU temperature for gaming should not exceed 176°F (80°C) and should run anywhere between 167°-176°F (75°-80°C) on average. I recommend you to pay attention to the temperature, the manufacturer put on our hand a big responsibility, allow us to control the power of our processor with not limit, but this is requires a great responsibility and knowledge that major of the users do not have. For almost everyone, the best advice is just to forget that power plans or undervolting exist. Stick with the Balanced plan and don’t worry about it.
Blade Powers Thanx!! For all advices and information:) appreciate it:), i will try the balance mode on power plan and if it will be good i will keep it on balance:) thanx for explaining, Great GPU! and great temps!! my always without undervolt or underwatt reaching to 90 degrees even if its on balance mode on power plan or on Lenovo Vantage software, but when i undervolting or underwating so i get around 75-85 and its ok, About the ideal temps ,i just talked with my warranty lab and they told me that its fine if the temps reaching to 90+(while gaming)strange or what? i think its not ok
SALFRED **Try the balanced mode and additional to this go to powers options and under balanced section go to change plan settings >change advanced power settings>processor power management> maximum processor state>”Plugged in “ put it in (99). And then apply, you will see the difference.**
Blade Powers ok man thanx! well i did it on the “newhighperformance” and put it all on 100 so i will check the balance i think it already at 99 if not i will change to 99 and will see if the differnce is good or not:) thanx!
Hello Blade Powers. May I ask how did you manage to get such low temps? I have the same laptop, but with GTX 1660Ti and my CPU get to 90 - 95 degrees. I already had to rise the back of the machine as some games started to have FPS drops. That is why I found this video as I was about to try the undervolting. Your video is no longer available it seems.
Thanks for your video, it is a great news for me as i thought this cpu i7 9750 H is not compatible with xtu as Microsoft didn't list it on the compatible cpus, the question now why this cpu is not listed if xtu can work on it?
Sûhãsh 939 hi:) its not causes even more heating... you can save your profile at profiles in left side and after each reboot just check if its on the saved profile:)
How could you find that your stock 70w, if on the official Intel website, it is indicated that this processor works at 45w ? Can I pre-set the same values on my i5 8300h and will they work adequately for me?
Maks Vazovski hi:) i find out my stock is 107&70W cuz thats the values that the XTU giving me as default when Re-Installing :) If you meant to pre-set the turbo boost values so you can see it here: How To Reduce Temperatures With Turbo Boost Power When Playing Games On Lenovo Legion Y540 | GTA V th-cam.com/video/eI5pZWzHgdA/w-d-xo.html

Yeah but there is power limit throttling instead

Then use apex legends to show temperatures as doom is using only 30-40% CPU

zikky6 ok i will try to make this video with the values you asked and will test it with appex legends:)

SALFRED Hey. Check my temperature, undervolting + plan balance . Optimized by Nvidia, temperature 68-75. th-cam.com/video/3qsogkTVlNk/w-d-xo.html

Hey bro what settings and voltage should i use for red dead redemption 2 please make a video how to reduce overheating

If you get a blue screen, what do you do afterwards? Just reboot the system?
hi:) yes you need to reboot and then put the last good value and test it for few hours and then see if its crushes or not :9 good luck
