Elise, my mother in law passed away a couple years ago and she had a pretty amazing collection of vintage clothing some from the 40s. I would love to send them to you as a gift to make up for the loss on the stupid vintage box you got. I dont know how I could send you pictures of them so you can make sure you like them before I send them. I just have facebook. Let me know, I hated seeing you so sad :( much love, God bless ❤️
I love the dresses. You should have the yellow dressed adjusted to fit you. I thought the corset detracted from the simple beauty of the yellow dress. I lived the blue sewing box.
I just want to say that I have purchased items a number of times from your webshop and none of those items were vintage. So I think you have a loyal following of people who enjoy buying your original bohemian wonders items rather than just looking for vintage items. I loved your when life gives you lemons go thrifting attitude! ❤😊
I'm quite sure everyone of your subscribers watch your videos to the very last second because you are so lovely and creative. I positively enjoy your camera work and the garden shows how amazing you are with nature! Not to mention I could spend hours just listening to you speak! Cheers ! And thank you ! Take good care Elise.
Friyay!! I’m glad you posted this video. I love the way you broke the frozen feeling and knocked it off the field by going and doing something rewarding for yourself. A great lesson there. I loved seeing all your organising and your purchases. Wishing you clarity in all your decisions xx❤️
Elise its so wonderful having such an amazing person like you in my life. I have a chronic illness that has alienated all my friends and family leaving me isolated, except for my husband and doggy, so you are my only source of joy and companionship in my life, you are my "virtual" yet real friend. I eagerly look forward to every episode you create and always watch them all to the end and crave your next episodes. You are perfect just the way you are! Thank You for sharing your life with me.
Wow, I'm like you. I have had a chronic illness my entire 30s. Watching Elise continues to give me inspiration. I hope you get well soon. Chronic illness is so misunderstood. I also am isolated. Just me and my cat.

FRIDAY - I always love watching your videos Elise. I hope you managed to return your duff box of "vintage" clothing, I really felt for you especially as I too had a very frustrating week. I'd worked from 8am - midnight for days including my birthday on Friday and the again on the Saturday I finally finished the order on Sunday at 12.30 midday leaving me an hour to shower and wash my neglected hair, iron my outfit and get out to a family gathering. Saturday evening at about 10.30pm I hit the wall and cried my way through my work. I had a Monday morning deadline to meet, one that the interior designer had brought forward by two days. I work for myself from home making bespoke lampshades, this order was for an incredibly wealthy businessman who lives in the most beautiful mansion (with an army of staff who live in cottages on the estate) and here I was slaving away for less than the minimum wage in the UK, I've decided no more, I need to finally get my own website up and running, make some stock and sell directly to the customer and cut out the middle man - the interior designers. I have to work from home because I am a carer but I still deserve to be paid a decent wage for my skills. Lampshade making has exploded in the UK and when I am on makers forums at times I see really badly made shades that people are selling, mine are beautifully made. I have a City & Guilds qualification in soft furnishings and everything I make is hand stitched, I am worth more than I currently get! QUESTION: Do you sew? Do you ever alter your clothing to fit?
The light blue "sewing kit" with the roses on is a tine (or a laup). Traditionally used for storing and transporting food, nowadays used as decoration or storage of, for example, sewing supplies 😁 Greetings from your favorite neighbors in Norway 🤩
FriYAY! Elise, you inspired me to leave a toxic job and start a vintage resale business, and my heart could not be happier. I’m sorry you had a bad experience taking a risk with this new supplier. I know that it’s so hard to fine good vintage, and I also know you’re a fan of Karin Stevens dresses, so I’m going to send you some of my stock that you can either keep for yourself, sell or give away. You have put so much good into the world and deserve it all to come back to you. Hopefully the items will help make up for the loss you took on this supplier!
I was in Turkey recently and brought an empriente multi pouchette. They showed me the *hotdups* bag, which looks exactly like it. The texture is no different.
Elise you are a great content creator. The vintage pieces come from my era and I love your home and garden too. Raw, authentic content is vital in this age of perceived perfection. Life is an ebb and a flow for everyone, and I feel a lot of our youngsters try and fit into the "perfect" social media ideal and consequently we have a growing mental wellness problem with the upcoming generation. Love what you do and always look forward to your content. Keep on being who you are. Love from New Zealand.

Friyay! I like that you have a high standard for your vintage pieces. It shows that you have very good taste and a keen eye, but I know it’s hard to find really unique and good quality pieces! I hope you find the perfect balance for your business that works best and isn’t so exhausting and disappointing. Keep being you!🌛🤎🌜

You have such a keen eye for textiles and design. I could see you venturing into collecting vintage textiles and fabrics. Possibly even creating home decor items (pillow covers, linens, table covers, bed covers, kitchen linens, bath linens, etc.). You're also very talented with creating your own clothing designs. You've been a good student of vintage for quite some time. You have excellent taste, and unique style. Maybe the next step is for you to be the Designer. Create what you can't find. 💝

As a small business owner myself I totally get how overwhelming this feels right now but as an older viewer I also have experienced these things throughout my life and know that even though it doesn't feel like it right now you will come out of this stronger! You must just put this whole situation down to experience and move on, salvage what you can from the situation and learn never to use that duplicitous supplier again! Love from Scotland x

Friyay! Fellow vintage seller here and I will tell you that the summer slump is verrry real! I always start questioning my life choices in July. But then autumn rolls around, things pick up, and I remember why I love selling vintage. I hope the same is true for you. Sending lots of love to you Elise.

No, darling, you're not the only thrifter who feels that exciting rush when finding the gems, and then the lovely afterglow once clothes have been tried on or decor pieces have been placed perfectly in their new home. Thrifting has been bringing me the joy for 50 years. I went just yesterday, and today, an estate sale. Your style is beautiful! I love all the flowers and art in your home, and how you've styled the whole studio. Just gorgeous, and peaceful, and bohemian, and pretty. Your garden is just as beautiful and peaceful as your studio and home. Love watching your sweet videos.
No wonder you are feeling so overwhelmed sweetheart. You have been doing a tremendous amount of work on your own and trying to always improve and run a business. You deserve a ton of credit. Give yourself some breathing room now if you can. Everything is amazing that you have done. Take care of yourself. Xo
I love that pink dress/jumper. So perfect for summer. But that red 1960's number is absolutely gorgeous with the red lip. You don't have to jazz it up. It speaks volumes for itself.
I love the shot when you place your purple/pink tennis shoes next to the same colored flowers! That would make a great photograph. You could also develop it in black and white. One of the best photos I took was of the pumpkins that I threw in my backyard and left them there when it snowed. They looked so good, buried in the snow! Another one was when we were iced in for 5 days (and we live in Texas). I had vintage metal chairs from the 1950's that I spray painted red, sitting in the backyard. They were also sprinkled with snow, sitting by a tree with snow covered branches. Sometimes we just capture the simple things in our environment that really speak to us, which make the best art! OK, on to the rest of the video!
Friyay! I am dealing with a broken right shoulder and upper arm fracture. It has been awful. I have re-injured it several times since the initial fall the day after Mother's Day. My husband is dealing with serious health issues as well. It is very challenging. I am praying that he will stay here with me for a very long time. Life is so very precious. You bring me joy Elise!
Friyay! Keep your head up Elise. Running your own business is hard. My daughter and I run a business here in the US. We originally started with a room of vintage because it was my daughters passion. After a few years we had to pivot away from vintage because the sourcing was just too much! So I completely understand. You got this! You know what's best for you and your business. ❤
Friyay!!! My mom showed me your channel a few years ago. We would always call to talk about how cute and clever your ideas are after watching your videos on Friday. She died earlier this year and I only started watching your channel again a couple weeks ago. So happy I did because your videos are beautiful and I am so happy for all that you share with us. Cheers to finding ways of being able to sustain yourself and your business.
Friday! Thanks for sharing the real life of a girl boss. It's not always easy to run a small business or be self employed and it can really take a toll on your mental and physical health. Please take care of yourself.❤
Friday! A cold, rainy day in normally sunny South East Queensland. I have to remind myself when I watch your videos that it's winter here, but your lovely light filled home and your blossoming garden makes me feel positive because we basically only have a few weeks left before the days get longer and warmer.
I have always found that frightening pictures of odd looking people is a great way to get nice frames for dirt cheap. Plus I always have a good laugh after I leave a store because the sales people must think I'm crazy.
@@penelopepivots3156 I'm only sorry I didn't save all those pictures because when family puts photos around the funeral home when people die I could have had my daughters put those around mine. I can picture my friends and family laughing like we did when my Mother in law requested Elvis to be loudly played at her funeral. And yes we played the Elvis.
Good Friday morning to you Elise and everyone ❤❤❤❤. The clothes may not be what you were expecting, but this is a new opportunity to go in a different direction for a minute. IT is ok Don't despair. It's all good ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Friday❤ Having a small business is always challenging. I have several coffee shops in Kiev. Sometimes I’m felling mad, sometimes I have no clue what the hell I’m doing. But you know how it works, sink or swim. Besides, making your passion your work, the best scenario. Way to go!❤
FRIDAY, Girlllll, take the stress of now, while you are ahead. If not, it will lead to health problems down the road. TRUST ME! I wish I could go back and tell myself that at your age. There is a desperate need in this world for your exact brand of beautiful. Keep shining, let go of the past, there is nothing new for you there. So many vintage clothes sellers, even in America, are hitting bottom with vintage finds because it is so very popular right now. My cousin has his own shop, and he literally has to go to some crazy places to find his vintage wear. (Like crawling through piles of clothes, attics, basements) Because thrift stores no longer have anything to offer. It’s gone the minute it hits the rack. Wish I could lend you my ear, a hug, make you some hot tea, and let you relax and unwind. Your post made my day, literally, and I want you to know we are here for you, even across a vast ocean. 🌊🇺🇸
Of course I watched to the end. I've had a small retail business myself and it can be stressful, with all the ups and downs that go with it. However in the long run, it is worth it, and when I truly got sick of it, sold it quickly for a profit and used the money to do something else I wanted to do. A lot of people don't have the vision and stamina and, let's face it, guts to start a business, but they think they can take over one and do well. I like the development better than the daily grind, so serial entrepreneurship works well for me. Maybe for you, too?
FRIYAY beautiful Elise!! Put those items they will not refund on your web shop and im sure they will sell just fine!! Your amazing so never forget that please !! We love you and I love the yellow dress with no corset and with!! Hugs!!❤
Thrifting is the universe's ancient therapy ! Renew, reuse, restore, redecorate, redefine, redirect, relax, aaaahhh, be happy ! Every experience prepares us for the next adventure ! 👍🎶😊💗
When I was younger in the seventies, I loved wearing vintage clothing, but that was clothing from the 40 and 50’s. I would wear my aunt’s lovely summer dresses. I also preferred longer dresses and pants. We all have disappointing days, just find what brings you joy for that day.
You have such good taste and style that I’m sure you know what is going to sell the best like a few half dozen items and pick the vintage fabrics that you love like the gingham the cream the Lace and have a couple of El staple items that you can have as a summer range and a winter range like a shirt a skirtand just have the maid in fabrics that you love that people come back for every season because if you’re wearing it everybody wants it and you always always look gorgeous❤
Friday! Along with actual therapy, thrifting is also another form of therapy for me 😅. That and spending time chilling and relaxing with my baby dog. That yellow dress was so pretty on you, just get it tailored to fit you better. And the red lace dress was beautiful. I loved the color of the dark upper part of it. You have a good mind for business Elise. Your shop has grown over the years, trust your instincts. See you next week and have a fantastic weekend 💕
Friday…. All the way from Australia, love your videos Elise. You are so calming I do hope you get something back from that supplier good luck…. Have a wonderful week ahead beautiful lady. 🌻
Definitions. "Vintage" is a colloquialism commonly used to refer to all old styles of clothing. A generally accepted industry standard is that items made between 20 and 100 years ago are considered "vintage" if they clearly reflect the styles and trends of the era they represent." If the dresses are 20 years old or more, they are old and vintage. They are not new. It doesn't mean that all old, pre-loved, pre-owned, pre-worn or vintage clothes are not still of a good quality. In Italy you can pay a fortune for old vintage. Sell your dresses Elise for a great sale price. Even if you don't like them, someone else might just love something. Style it all and give people ideas. Have a sale. You can turn this around. 🤗🍀
I was thinking the same thing. I’m also a reseller and have made bad buys and I’ve learned to throw them out to the universe to at least recover my costs. Just today I had a nice sale from one of those very items. It’s always worth a shot!!
@@laurieb6163 I agree. Glad you made that great sale. 👍👍 There is always a lid for every pot. I also had my own clothing business. I travelled overseas and bought new clothes. And I also didn't always get it right. If I buy something for 1 euro and sell it for 2 I made a profit. Not a great one but a profit. If I bought something for 1 euro and sold it for 1 euro I recovered my money. Nothing was lost. Not great business sense but sometimes you have to accept when something is not going to sell. Let it go at cost, with possibly abit added on. We pay school fees as they say. It's all learning. 😁
Friday....I always watch your videos until the end and I enjoy each and every one of them! So sorry about the vintage box, but I love that you turned it around by using some thrift therapy. I do the same thing! Hugs to you.
Fri-YAY!! ❤ you Elise. You’ve built such an amazing business and channel. If it or you need to change to grow and be healthy, do it! Also, thrifting therapy is the BEST! I love the treasure hunt, too.
*Friday* My favorite morning of the week. I bring you to my kitchen table for a leisurely coffee -- and I don't let anyone sit at my kitchen table before noon. That's sacred space.
It's not easy being a shop owner. Fingers crossed! ❤ You will have some good ideas coming, take your time, let the little grey cells working for you, and in the meantime, go on thrifting...😊 Btw, the big lamps you saw in a thrift shop that were not your style: Imagine both of them, hanging from above your beams in different heights: amazing! 😎
I love watching your videos, thank you for allowing us to share your life with you. ❤😊 Just know, business is a CONSTANT struggle. Have the mindset of “there’s a problem, how do I fix it”. Don’t let it get you down, it’s just part of it.
The universe is always insisting that I go thrifting. When I look at pictures of my vintage shop from 8 years ago, I realize how much my direction has changed.
Love the thrift clothing, the last red dress is a great style look for vintage fabric or re prints of vintage fabric and use this design to create a range. Go with the flow and opportunities will present it self. It was a great video 🎉 it’s not what’s available in vintage it’s what would you like to create that’s your style of vintage 💕
Friyay! You work so hard and are so creative. You will make that money back in no time I'm sure. Maybe you can bring some of the newer items to a consignment store that carries those types of dresses.
Good morning! My question is did they accept that order back? I sure hope so! I almost cried seeing you so distraught. I have always thought it must be extremely stressful when you get those big boxes and do not know what's inside. IF they dont take it back, you could make some mystery clearance bags. Fill them with a few of those pieces and an item on clearance and price them accordingly? Have them on sale in your store and the webstore? Just a suggestion? Maybe you recoup some of your money.❤😊 Hang in there Dear Girl.🎉❤
You misunderstand the word “vintage”. It means “of age” and not necessarily bohemian esthetic that you prefer and expect. An item can be vintage and plain looking but be old. There are many shops with well curated vintage clothing having good business. Your esthetic is bohemian as your shop name describes so your customer base is narrower. Perhaps you should consider a consignment aspect where your shop gets a percentage of the sale and your capital expense is minimized.
Friyay! I’m sorry to hear that you’re going through a tough time, Elise! You’ve said that in your last video too, so I imagine it must be hard. But, hold on!!! You’re beautiful, clever and talented, I’m sure you will find a way out! ❤ Love from Italy
Fri -Yay!! It's not easy running your own business. There are lots of unknowns - but I think you are doing great. It is important to think hard at times what is working for you and what is not. If added stress is happening a lot, then maybe some adjustments can be made. Follow your heart. -- Lots of blessings!
Fri-yay! I think I felt my heart just absolutely sink to my stomach when I saw the vintage box. Like I get that Y2K is considered vintage now, but that was just, a sad box. I am so glad you were able to find some gems while you were out thrifting. I hope you get a reply from the seller soon.
FRIDAY. I love all your finds and I loved the look on your face as you showed them. ❤ The dresses were wonderful. The red/ pink one is beautiful and dramatic. The clothes in the so called vintage box looked seriously small and definitely not of the usual calibre. What a shame. Sometimes one just has to take the risk knowing the outcome can be good or bad. I'm so glad you got in some retail therapy op shopping, I know it always lifts my mood. Your house is looking so good. The mirror is a great addition however you decide to use it!
it all came good in the end.you look beautiful in all the clothes you wear .As for the other clothes i think there still sellable when they been ironed x
Got an answer from the vintage supplier. They will not refund me. ❤
So sorry. No doing business with them again. I wish you a ton of goodluck.

Your garden is just as beautiful and peaceful as your studio and home. Love watching your sweet videos.
Happy Friday Elise! I love going thrifting with you. That rose bowl ❤ The dresses are adorable. Don’t stress. Everything will work out.
Friday! You have to do what is best for your own mental health. 😊
Oh my......😮 ...that red and pink dress is absolutly stunning!!-espesially on you❤❤❤
No wonder you are feeling so overwhelmed sweetheart.
It speaks volumes for itself.
exactly! The pink and yellow dresses were fabulous too, but the shape and color and textures of the red dress are stunning, at least on camera!
Friday! Keep going!
Friday! I always watch your videos until the end 😁 All the dresses are beautiful!
🌺 I also noticed that little detail 🌺
Hugs 🤗🤗🤗
@@murialpack5350 Thank you SO much!
Me too Malinda! Most painful thing, but these videos are delightful and cheer me up ❤️
Yes, it is sooo hard. I just love vintage, my passion lies with the old gems, but I also have to look out for my health ☺️
Sorry for your loss ❤
It’s amazing how much natural light your skylights bring to your kitchen and dining/living spaces. So nice!!
The yellow dress looks so beautiful when you added the corset! Good matching!
@Poodlegirl! 😂..This made me burst with laughter!!! You would be so fun to shop with!❤😂❤
Love this!! And...great idea. 😊
😂 Great idea.
@@poodlegirl55 You are too cute!..& so funny!😍..I can tell, you're a joy to be around!💞
Friday🎉🎉🎉. We love you Elise. Sending you lots of inspiration for your future businesses ❤
Friday, my grandma always said do what’s in your best interest so whatever you have to do everybody will be on your side and especially me
Friday. You're so lovely. Thanks for sharing your struggles and wins with us.
The studio looks great. I love to thrift shop with you. Best wishes for your small business. You are very good at making your store look lovely.
Friday....I adore your vids and watch all of them. I feel you are so like a daughter ❤ so beautiful xxxxxx
Good Friday morning to you Elise and everyone ❤❤❤❤. The clothes may not be what you were expecting, but this is a new opportunity to go in a different direction for a minute. IT is ok
Don't despair. It's all good ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I can't. My soul isn't this ❤️
I agree definitely not the style or quality of your other clothing.
❤❤❤ love watching no matter what! You look so beautiful in all the dresses❤❤❤
Elise. Elise. Elise... please PLEASE know, you are cherished beyond measure. You are such a treasure. Your content brings unlimited delight.
(Finally became a member. 💝 It is the very least i can do as a show of my deep appreciation for your work, and all that you share.)
Your content is timeless, calming, inspiring, endearing...so many things. You are so authentic and genuine. Breaks my heart to see you disappointed. You are incredibly clever and tenacious. Whatever may come from these current frustrations, I know you will turn yet another grain of sand into a pearl. That's what you do. 💎
For what it's worth, sending massive support and love from California.
💝
I agree completely!
Elise, we love you of course I watched your video till the end.
Friday❤ Having a small business is always challenging. I have several coffee shops in Kiev. Sometimes I’m felling mad, sometimes I have no clue what the hell I’m doing. But you know how it works, sink or swim. Besides, making your passion your work, the best scenario. Way to go!❤
Friday ❤ the yellow dress looks dreamy on you! Love from Canada 🇨🇦
My philosophy to a tough day: When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping! Works for me!
Count me in! Where are we going 😁
Oh, and yes, I've watched "til now". Watching til the end! :)♥
Friyay! I never miss one of your videos and I ALWAYS watch till the end. I look forward to them very much! 😃
Thank you so much 🩷
That. Chair.
"I still have a velvet obsession."
Same, girl. Same.
Same! If it's velvet I MUST have it!
I love when you go thrifting. There are so many beautiful to see and purchase.
Yes! I always watch to the end and many times I rewatch it! I so enjoy watching YOU special lady 🫶
Friyay! I really enjoyed this video Elise. Thank you 😊 Keep your head up, you got this❤
When I was younger in the seventies, I loved wearing vintage clothing, but that was clothing from the 40 and 50’s.
A generally accepted industry standard is that items made between 20 and 100 years ago are considered "vintage" if they clearly reflect the styles and trends of the era they represent."
If the dresses are 20 years old or more, they are old and vintage.
They are not new.
It doesn't mean that all old,
pre-loved, pre-owned, pre-worn or vintage clothes are not still of a good quality.
In Italy you can pay a fortune for old vintage.
Sell your dresses Elise for a great sale price. Even if you don't like them, someone else might just love something.
Style it all and give people ideas. Have a sale.
You can turn this around. 🤗🍀
💯 It is Business, you gotta do what you gotta do 🤷♀️🥰
I was thinking the same thing. I’m also a reseller and have made bad buys and I’ve learned to throw them out to the universe to at least recover my costs. Just today I had a nice sale from one of those very items. It’s always worth a shot!!
@@laurieb6163 I agree. Glad you made that great sale. 👍👍
There is always a lid for every pot.
Friyay! I love the blue box decorated with flowers. I thought it might be for keeping bread but I'm not sure. Keep smiling.
my mother used to paint in a similar style (rosemalling) I think she painted a box like that a few times - and called it a cheese box.
@@OrianaAnjou oh yes that would make sense. Maybe it's too small for bread.
Friyay! The yellow dress looks amazing! I like it without the corset and the color is sooooo beautiful!
Fri-YAY!! ❤ you Elise. You’ve built such an amazing business and channel. If it or you need to change to grow and be healthy, do it! Also, thrifting therapy is the BEST! I love the treasure hunt, too.
I love those pieces! I love vintage, but I also love the retro vibe which I think a lot of those pieces fall under. They will sell, I'm sure!
*Friday* My favorite morning of the week. I bring you to my kitchen table for a leisurely coffee -- and I don't let anyone sit at my kitchen table before noon. That's sacred space.
The yellow dress and corset are so dreamy together!! ✨
Good Morning Elise ☕️ ☕️ beautiful video thanks you so much for sharing with us all 💞
Thaanks 🩷
Yes, I watched all the video as I always do. You are so fun to watch. Love the pieces of clothing you tried on especially the yellow dress.
Thanks! 🩷
It's not easy being a shop owner. Fingers crossed! ❤
You will have some good ideas coming, take your time, let the little grey cells working for you, and in the meantime, go on thrifting...😊
Btw, the big lamps you saw in a thrift shop that were not your style:
Imagine both of them, hanging from above your beams in different heights: amazing! 😎
I love watching your videos, thank you for allowing us to share your life with you.
❤😊
Just know, business is a CONSTANT struggle. Have the mindset of “there’s a problem, how do I fix it”. Don’t let it get you down, it’s just part of it.
The universe is always insisting that I go thrifting. When I look at pictures of my vintage shop from 8 years ago, I realize how much my direction has changed.
Friday is great day for that perfect pink jumper !!
Thanks for another video! Love your style as always!❤
Thanks ❤️
Fri Yay! Keep your chin-up girl! Things will perk up soon and you’ll find lots of goodies
Hi Elise, you look great!!!I adore this cardigan ❤❤
Thanks ❤️
Love the thrift clothing, the last red dress is a great style look for vintage fabric or re prints of vintage fabric and use this design to create a range. Go with the flow and opportunities will present it self. It was a great video 🎉 it’s not what’s available in vintage it’s what would you like to create that’s your style of vintage 💕
Staging in your favorite thrift store is wonderful. Who wouldn't want to buy something there? 50% off, WOOHOO!!! Thrift Therapy. YES!
Friyay! You work so hard and are so creative. You will make that money back in no time I'm sure. Maybe you can bring some of the newer items to a consignment store that carries those types of dresses.
Of course Friday Elise!!!!!!
Friday. You are an amazing young lady. You have done a lot with your home and studio. I think a lot of things are now slow.
The problem with that idea is that the person who gets a mystery box of crap will not be happy and Elise's reputation will suffer.
@@RebeccaHunt-wv8bcHaving the dresses put up on sale immediately is a good idea.
Not mystery bags.
Friday!! 😀 The dining room is really taking shape!
Friday! Love all the pieces you found from thrift shopping. ❤❤❤
Friday, wishing you a lovely weekend ❤
