Unbelievable that a 14 year old could play like that.
That much emotion and passion in Tiffany's playing
usually come with maturity. I don't even know what
to expect as she matures and experiences life.
What can we expect from Tiffany in the future?
Oh shut up james HAHA LOL. Excellent performance though :)
I AGREE, SHE IS FANTASTICCC!
I don't think she is 14 years old. (Oh wait that's what it says in the description lol)
Actually, she was only 13 years old at the time.
EDIT: Nevermind, she indeed was 14 when she performed this song.
Have you seen this 4 yr old russian concert pianist boy....unreal, whats next a 1 yr old pianist playing Liszt...
She was just 14! Absolutely wonderful!!!
It doesn't necessarily mean that her parents made her practice.. you should see her interviews, it's completely obvious that her love for music made her who she is here today :)
This is one of Liszts most difficult pieces, wow
Lunar. Agrees
So many to choose from lmao
@Enescu :age:
This is the one piece of music that actually is HARDER than it LOOKS like on the printed page!! This is astonishing given her age. Even Liszt himself would be stunned.
Depends on if you can play chromatic thirds or not.
I still wonder what Liszt’s hardest piece is, between the Symphony 3 and 9 transcriptions (those being the longest and pretty sure hardest), Berlioz Symphony Fantastique Transcription, Don Juan, Lucrezia Borgia, Puritani, 4b, or S.137 No. 4 on the MIDI played speed if that’s the actual tempo..
By the way, I far prefer your version to this one..
Chromatic thirds aren’t even that hard, wym. Check out Yerangi by Mr. Martirosyan, where chromatic 3rds, 4ths, and evening 5ths are used.
@@vnwa7390 its liszt symphony 9 easily for several reasons
the reason she can remember it is because she enjoys it so it makes it far more easier to remember as you can see its not just talent its happiness :) shes an inspiration to us all !! just amazing
memorize? heh. that would be the last of your problems in this piece...
The sheet music look hard
But when you start practicing it
It’s even harder
The Joking Wizard it really is. I looked over the sheet music and I got so overwhelmed that I had to stop reading.
A beginner starts practicing slowly
An advanced player practices even slower.
A Master practices even slower than slow.
(Attributed to Franz Liszt)
@@andresgunther :: But but but ... there is another thing which the Master can do: Sight read at a decent pace. Liszt is said to have walked into a music shop in Vienna just when Hummel had released his A minor (or was it the B-minor) concerto and asked if he could play it on the demonstration piano - yes he was welcome. So he played the whole concerto and said thank you I am not going to buy (he wasn't rich at that point) and of course left the shop clerk baffled. Actually I have known two people who would sight read professionally fast, and when practicing they only took smaller passages to play (v.e.r.y. slowly. If this subject interests you you will enjoy listening to TH-cam videos by Valentina Lisitsa who shows how she practices - one is 3 hour long (with coffee break where nothing happens!) where she learns the Warszaw Concert by Richard Addinsell (an interesting history behind this piece of music by the way).
Its hard, they say the legendary pianist Scriabin injured himself playing this!
ive sight read the whole thing
This video deserves much more views than it currently has. Not only did Tiffany play the notes and rhythms accurately, but when you combine that with her body movement and her age, I think her performance was truly magical. Tiffany is a magician who can play literally anything.
I only have 1 request: I hope Tiffany can play this at one of her future concerts, because I can't get this song out of my head right now. This song can probably hype up the whole audience.
the judges were a bit harsh on her at 2015 chopin, she should have gone further...
this piece requires diligence, industry and a gifted pianist .... you must be all of them!!
14 years old. and this piece. Oh gosh i am so slow comparing to this girl. I am only mastering the Chopin Etudes. I am only 16 and you have already been playing such difficult pieces. AMAZING BRAVO..
TanTzuKuang Don’t beat yourself up. Those etudes are HARD. Good work, young man.
Update? What are you playing these days?
i wasn't surprised until i saw her age in the description...
14 years old? are you fucking kidding me?.. 14 year old playing one of, if not the most demanding classical pieces...
geez....i've never heard of a 14 yr-old who could play this. Well done!
This is one of Liszt’s hardest pieces, possibly the hardest. For anyone to play this already means veing a very good and talented professional pianist. BUT A 14 YEAR OLD
It's not Liszt's hardest, quite far from it actually. For the second part of your comment, I believe there is no such thing as talent. Just hard work. Yes, there are few advantages one might have over others, like having long, thin fingers (especially for this piece). Also depends on how much you like what you're doing, which results in how well you concentrate on practice, or on pretty much whatever you're doing. Tiffany clearly likes what she's doing, hence the reason for her being able to play pieces as such.
Is she a prodigy? She must be. I was just staring at the screen in amazement, completely stunned for 15 seconds after the video finished.
Dude I never knew you had played this! That's incredible, I knew you could play some very challenging repertoire, but I didn't know you were able to pull this off! Bravo, even getting through this piece is a feat worthy of note, but playing it with such command of the dramatic dynamics... So great, you really are a fantastic musician!
This is so good.
Unbelievable.
This girl is just off the charts with talent! Even though I'm sitting here watching and listening, I still can't believe my eyes! She is incredible, to be a mere 14!
Incredible performance!! Bravo Bravo!! This is a massive achievement that is obviously several years ago but to even be able to cope with playing this work let alone to be brave enough to play it in public is something else.
14 years old!!!!Amazing!!!…….
Tiffany you will always be an inspiration, the passion shows. Hope to see you perform live one day. 🖤
Not only breathtaking, but heartbreaking! You are on the very top of the music art and I'm so looking forward to hearing more of your playing! I wish I could come to your concert to hear you playing live, so I really hope you will have a concert tour in Europe.
Simply amazing, thank you
i can see you put a lot of emotion in to it and that makes it better i love your covers more than original!
Wonderfully sparkling music! Liszt's virtuoso bravados are meaningful this way.
meravigliosa esecuzione, Tiffany Poon!
All i see is a bright future ahead of you. Bravo, Tiffany! :D
Fantastique, cette jeune femme est sans doute une des meilleures pianistes de tous les temps.
Tiffany, that's wonderful :)
The tension, the athmosphere you've created... The "pace darem la mano" part was sooo nice and kind... (i like to play that part :))
I love this work...and you play it superbly.
More depression on how, after 20 years of playing, my 'skills' are...but such is life...
I love you! Hope I can go to one of your recitals in the future!
Wow...great job!
Wow! Amazing!
To the people watching this performance,
I do not wish this message to come across as rude, but I would like to put in my own opinion regarding the "best pianist in the world". In my opinion, there is no such thing as the "best pianist in the world", only skilled and hardworking pianists. Tiffany is an amazing pianist because she practiced countless hours of course, but that does not mean that she is necessarily the best out there. Being young and be able to play one of Liszt's most difficult operatic paraphrases doesn't determine if you are the best out there, every pianist is talented and skilled in different standards and have their own way of playing and interpreting musical compositions, making each performance unique and impressive in its own ways. Hopefully, people can finally appreciate every pianist out there working hard to achieve their goals.
Sincerely, a pianist in training.
this piece is only for gifted pianist. Bravo!!
You're really talented, it doesn't come easily, this piece is a piece that really takes years to sit on, it's hard and psychotic and crazy
Admirable Tiffany 🎶♥️🎵🎶♥️
HOLY!! That was breathtaking!!
Bravo!!!!!!
It`s so very good play piano~It`s so beautiful!!
Simplemente increíble ❤❤❤
Bravo!!!
Better than Valentina Lisitsa’s version.
That's the worst version if I'm being honest. It's so lifeless and rushed in parts.
Caleb Hu it’s really rushed yes but I’d never heard the 1st variation at the speed she played it at and it actually sounded so nice but most of it is unnecessarily rushed I do think.
non sono d'accordo
I like lisitsas version a lot tho
So beautiful
amezing !
BRILLIANT MIND 😊❤️
Holy cow! What's left for you to learn? xD
4:46 till 5:38 ; Chopin’s variations on la ci darem la Mano (originally an opera by mozart), but why is it also in liszt’s Don Juan???
this is literally based on an opera of mozart called "Don giovanni"
Because…La ci darem la mano…is from…Don Juan…….
Tiffany, just beautiful sonourized, pearly tones of pure elegance and grace! Thank you for sharing this charming piece.
How old were you when you first began to play and which texts did you play to prepare to play this piece?
No, I'm impressed at how well she played it and how it would be nearly impossible for me to ever memorize it! :)
Memorizing would be the least of your problems
holy crap... :O
Great play! And it's incredible that she was 14 therein. But I still think Lang Lang's version is the best I've ever heard.
Maravillosa version para piano del aria " Non ci darem la mano " de Don Giovani
WOW
Genius
Are you kidding me! 14 years old! Holy cow!
Tiffany I would like so much see you playing with an orchestra in your next video..
I love Tiffany poon best!!!!;)
(I'm fram korea so I don't great for English.. sorry)
Woah! This song is uber long!
I have always said that if I am ever able to learn this piece, it will be my life’s greatest accomplishment. I have currently made it onto the second page of La Campanella. Once I finish that piece, I will attempt this.
O.O -_- how long you been playing?
this is far far harder tham campanella, try something else first before trying this
I don’t think La Campanella to this is a healthy decision 😅
That's like going from Bach Prelude in C Major to Liebestraum No. 3
La Campanella is way below that. Try playing the s140 n6 etude, then move on to an easier opera transcription. Then yes, you can think about doing it.
U must of had to practice like 24/7 to master that like omg I could never play that long of a song let alone memorize it
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 👏 👏 👏 👏
OMG_
Not an ordinary mortal.
O_O
This is what bothers you?
you play this piece ?? 欧卖尬
What?
She's great,a rising star, but i don't care about liszt, return to the baroque masters; so bye bye guys, keep striving!
Liszt hater. Lol
This is hard but not to that point where people think she is the best. Jeez so fast to assume.
My Dog that's bcs she was just 14 yo went she played this, she also played grand gallop chromatique at age 12.
Ok? Doesn’t mean she’s the best, I honestly don’t care about age unlike every one else in TH-cam who comments on these going nuts lol
My Dog hmmm.... Maybe you are right
you must not be a pianist if you aren't aware of the fact that this is like one of Liszt's hardest transcriptions lol
c didn’t Scriabin hurt his hand playing this
how is it possible for a 14 year old to play this.
I don't like this piece.... but you again played awesome.
14歲彈成這樣.....也太強😐 而且這是我目前聽過最好聽的版本 我覺得比朗朗的好聽
I wonder if a pianist precious time would be better spent learning a prelude and fugue by Bach instead.
It’s one of Liszt’s greatest paraphrases... there is an astonishing recording by Simon Barere that I recommend.
@@MichaelKaykovI believe that Norma's reminiscence is infinitely better
At 14 yrs old, I played Bach's simple inventions but not this which Poon is performing; my hands couldn't do Liszt. For a 14 yr old to play like this means that her parents were driven mad and trained her on piano like olympic athletes from the age of 3.
No watch her q and a youtube channel she loves the piano to dead.
She's not forced
Better than Lang Lang
