- Hello lovelies, today I will be discussing Natalie Woods favorite perfumes, including the perfume called Natalie that was created by her daughter Natasha. I sent Natasha a message on Instagram because I was curious about the beauty products Natalie Wood used, and Natasha said that Natalie loved the perfume Fracas. I found this to be very interesting because there isn't a lot of information online about Natalie Woods favorite perfumes. When you search her favorite scent, the main one that comes up is Jungle Gardenia which was first introduced in 1932 by the original Tuvache' company, which no longer exists. Natalie fragrance is inspired by Natalie Woods favorite flower and scent the Gardenia. Below is how the Natalie fragrance started. It all started when five-year-old Natasha Nikolaevna Gurdin (née Zacharenko), the daughter of Russian immigrants, first stepped in front of a movie camera in 1943. The film was Happy Land, the director was Irving Pichel, and the rest was history. Hollywood re-christened her Natalie Wood, and she became a beloved child star in classics like Miracle on 34th Street. In 1946, Natalie appeared in the comedy The Bride Wore Boots, playing the daughter of screen legend Barbara Stanwyck. Stanwyck’s signature scent was gardenia-sumptuous, floral, yet distinctively sexy-it was considered the most exotic fragrance in the world.
Barbara sent her young costar a bottle of gardenia perfume as a gift, and when Natalie was old enough to wear it, she adopted gardenia as her signature scent as well. When others complimented her on the fragrance, Natalie remembered Barbara’s generosity and sent them a bottle. The teenage Natalie Wood blossomed into a glamorous starlet and was nominated for an Oscar at age sixteen for her 1955 role opposite James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause. Successfully maneuvering the near-impossible transition from child to adult on screen, Natalie was ready to take Hollywood by storm.

I loved Natalie Wood, I'll never forget her in Splendour in the Grass with Warren Beatty. Even when I've seen it so many times I feel heartbroken for her character. That and Miracle on 34th street would be my favourite films of her

Fracas is tuberose, orange blossom, jasmine, and lily-of-the-valley. It is classified as a classic floral-but perfume lovers these days call it a Big White Floral, one of the queens of the fragrance world. Tuvache Jungle Gardenia is a similar perfume, but it’s a floral oriental, because it has an amber base; it also has a more buttery texture from the ylang; my grandmother wore it; she grew gardenias and their scent reminds me of her-if you can find vintage Jungle Gardenia, it will smell much much more complex and natural than the newer versions. I’ve never smelled Natalie, but I’d like to look it up!
Fracas has had a lot of modern fans-Madonna (her Truth or Dare is basically Fracas but a little less in-your-face), JLo (I don’t know much about her celeb scents), and Courtney Love all have worn it. If you want to learn more about perfume, please look up Perfumes: The A-Z Guide, by Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez. They really know their stuff, and their book is very informative about vintage and new perfumes-and it is also hilarious. It will also make you want to spend a lot of money on perfume, but that’s not a bad thing.

@Cassie Miller I agree! Chris was probably traumatized! Knowing that he heard them argue and Natalie, disappeared over board, would most likely be Wagner threatening Chris! Wagner being from a very wealthy family may have paid Chris Millions for his silence! 🙄
Hopefully on their death bed. They'll have nothing to loose by doing so. Will bring closure to Natalie's sister , who to this day suffers her death.
Walken does not know what happened - he was in his room when Natalie went off the boat. Only Wagner knows - why do people think Walken knows? He only knows info up to that point. Not how she actually got off the boat

I'm very particular about perfumes because it's not just about liking it, it's also about how it wears on you. And once you put on a perfume, your natural smell changes it & it can either be really good or really terrible. Natalie is one one three perfumes I've bought & loved. I'm a huge fan & I follow her instagram account too. Natasha is the sweetest lady & her love of her mom stems beyond the perfume. The labor of love in crafting the whole line just makes me tear up. Honestly, I would have bought the perfume even if it smelled like hot, wet garbage just because of Natalie & Natasha! Have you tried the Rose perfume from Natalie yet?? I hear it was great!

I wore Jungle Gardenia on my wedding day, June 1976. I think I will order the Natalie perfume. I am intrigued by its description. Natalie's movies were among my favorites. I think she was a great actress and so beautiful. Her beauty was more approachable than, say, Elizabeth Taylor.

I have only used the original Jungle Gardenia by Tuvache, but it was incredible. Usually reformulated perfumes are not as good as the original.

I've been a big fan of Natalie Wood since I was a teenager. I love the perfume Fracas, it's a beautiful scent! I've read two books about Natalie and will have to purchase the Natalie Wood book you have in your video.
I own all the fragrances including Jasmal by Creed which was made for Natalie Wood back in the 1960's. Jasmal is a predominantly jasmine and green scent.
