What an awesome conversion! Do you think its worth the money? It is quite expensive but i can now use this wherever i go and run it alongside my trucks! Interested to hear what you make of this one! I think its turned out great! Brushless next? Let me know 😎👍
If you go 3s brushless, an aluminum center driveshaft and properly shimmed diffs is all you need to keep it reliable. I've been bashing mine hard on 3s for about six months now and haven't broken anything (I did strip a spur gear, but that was due to a bad mesh on my part, since I dropped a tooth on the pinion it's been dead reliable). I do recommend a radio and receiver with some sort of AVC as well however, as it's a bit of a handful without it
So is that £350 for the car plus conversion kit? Do you think it's worth it compared to other options? Works out at just over $700 Australian. I really like it. (Better than the Carisma) But I'm just not sure. I need two rally cars. Preferably WRC cars. Recommendations?
I recently moved from Minnesota to NYC, and i left most of my RC's behind, except for my brushless mini t and my custom rally built fazer (i found out about the kyoaho rally conversion about three months after i completed my own custom rally build....). It's an incredible street basher, and i even take it to the skate park on occasion. With some rally blocks, it absolutely destroyed the local baseball field, and with street tires its an absolute imsane machine. I have it geared to do about 45, and with a 3s reedy brushless system its more than capable of spinning the tires on demand, and with my tqi transmitter with avc turned reeeeaaally low, it's super stable on and off road. It's an absolute blast of a car, and gets a lot of compliments when im bashing around the bronx
Just designed and 3d printed shock towers that allow me to run 100mm shocks. Raised it by about an inch. I didn't feel like paying for the whole kit lol. Tested it tonight and it ran well. Trying it on the dirt tomorrow.
I ended up getting a 2nd fazer chassis after I got the conversion, I still like my original one. I pulled out some velvet Buggy shocks from my racing spares and build them up with the conversion springs. 👍🏻
Fazer platform is versatile, well made, and easy to work on. Can you go brushless and compare to the maverick quantum rx and maybe even the rlaarlo ak917?
Definitely worth it. I agree with wanting the aluminum shocks in the kit for $120. It totally changed this ride into a rally cross car. I would go brushless for more top end speed.
Great video as always, I like my Kyosho gear, I have a brushless Madvan which is truly bonkers, I have Dodge Charger & I have just ordered the Subaru with the new colour scheme, I too have decided not to change the Fazer to brushless, the standard motor has plenty enough torque & speed for my requirements 😊
You should look into doing four gear diff upgrade, and you need to fill the front differential with 15K fluid and the rear with 10k fluid. Also you should get MST rally tires😊 go back to the stock towers and get the yeah racing 60 mm shocks as well💪🏽👌🏽
Litrally just converted mine today! Also fitted a xerun brushless 10.5t cant wait to run it, me and a pal also use that pump track for bashing. Was wondering if this car would work over there and looks like it does! Great vid i love this car
Love it BRC! 🎉 what a lot of fun! Seen similar on a Tamiya chassis. The Subaru is a classic looking moter and looks good as a RC too. Great video mate!
If just shock towers and shocks from mad van could u not buy those parts separately for alot cheaper. Just curious cause I have a fazer but don't wanna spend that much if I could even get in US. But I'd like to do this to mine
Great video as always. I have a couple kyosho fazer, one brushed and one brushless,I absolutely love those rc cars. I think the controllers are the most comfortable rtr radios out there and the cars are surprisingly quick and durable. Looks like I know what my next project is going to be,now I just need do decide to do it on the brushed or brushless car lol
Great review as always mate... This would be amazing in a 1/8 or even a 1/7 6s brushless version. I have just missed out on the last of the HPI WR8 Subaru Flux here in Australia and am on the lookout for something similar. I'm thinking this will maybe be a little to small for our tracks we are currently running otherwise Id pull the trigger on one. Thanks again ( My favourite Weather man 🤣 ) - Great video!! Take care bud. 🙂👍
Kyosho is awesome 🤘🤘🤘 and a very quick setup on stock brushed esc and motor , I have the mustang gtr drift spec from kyosho and it is surprising quick , no trigger lag , drifts pretty amazing for a 4wd setup ..and the best part about kyosho is they are more durable than Traxxass 🎉 . Body shell could be a bit thicker but nonetheless great product
@@beyondRC ahhh that’s annoying. Where are the decent Fords kyosho! Think I may pull the trigger on the rally version and refurb my bashed up MK2. Will you try the new Rally to see how it stands up against the conversion?
I seriously considered going the exact same route for an Impreza rally car. It's like a 10th scale version of my first mini-z. Instead I got HPI's wr8 Impreza. If Kyosho made a dedicated rally Fazer that was brushless the decision would've been harder...
If your going to buy the Fazer + rally conversion kit + wheels + uprated drive train including metal center drive shaft + brushless conversion. Just go & buy the 1/8 HPI WR8 3s Impreza, much better car in my opinion & wouldn't have cost any more + not having to rebuild the car.
The Fazer MK2 comes ready to run yes. I have done a video on that. The rally conversion has to be fitted yourself which is a very easy process. Changing out the ESC and Motor is also another very easy process. Its not a kit like a tamiya. cheers
@@beyondRC Thanks for replying bud & the info. I'm going to look into possibly getting one of these then upgrading to 3600kv brushless motor as they are only around £60 I just upgraded my FTX Truggy with one. Then possibly the rally conversion as even then with the upgrades it will still be cheaper than the HPI WR8 Flux 2001 WRC Subaru Impreza which is around £450!
@@NBKRebelGamer87 Hi mate, Yep..The flux literally doubled in price here in Australia over only a month when stocks were running low. Now I believe there are only around 3 in the country going for over AU$1,000. Its highly unlikely we will see another '' HPI run '' of them again but man, I hope I'm wrong!, The Flux is stunning and drives just as good as it looks. Another option is to buy the nitro version at half the price and rip all that crap out and put a big electric donk and ESC in one. But, There goes another $350. Ahh well...Hope HPI do a Re-run sooon. Take care man - 300💥

Cool conversion. Car looks great!

Thanks Brett/Amain much appreciated!

Do us a favour
Get an old Michelin eascort cosworth with the big spoiler and kit it out with the fastest motor you can fit in it .
Wow!super beautiful power slide!imagine with a brushless motor!😏😉😉
I did this with a redcat lightning drift. It is now one of my favorite cars!

What weight shock oil did you use? Thanks
Impressive performance with the conversion kit. Kyosho make some good stuff.
Yes they do! Starting to like Kyosho a lot!
Pretty cool I have the same fazer but any off-roading I just use my slash 2wd or Losi TTpro
Cool!! I’m in the process of converting my Mad Van VE into a proper Buggy.

Thank you!

Absolutely awesome conversion, and simple. I think it may be mad when swapped to brushless. Is it a fairly tough chassis? Cheers
I am in the process of converting to brushless already.. stay tuned for that! Yes it is. Very happy with it and amazing how versatile it can be!
