I think that Sulley is not able to be on the Laugh Floor because of the grief and how much he really misses Boo. To become a Jokester in the MI universe, you have to undertake comedy classes etc. But it's likely that once Sulley said goodbye to Boo, a part of him left as well. In Monsters at Work we see Sulley cracking a few jokes here and there but nothing groundbreaking compared to Mike's sense of humour catered more towards children.
This is my personal favourite theory but an alternative could be that he simply wants to retire as he was one of the best scarers of all time and simply wants a break. Additionally, it could be a representation of structural unemplyoment if Sulley does not have the comedy skills to become a Joker, so he chills around with Mike instead.

Well he does become CEO of the company at the end of MI. Could just be hanging out behind the scenes and letting Mike run the show.

I love how Pixer can just make a nice lil reference/call back to some of their older work like the Sully Toilet seat cover and people just make the most wild theories about it to the point that they make up shit

As a fellow Monsters Inc nerd I can confirm that the interview where the directors talk about the chimp (its a chimp not a monkey) was the Monsters Inc Filmmakers Roundtable on the Blu-Ray rerelease, its also the same interview that reveals that the original name of the movie was Hidden City (named after the Hidden City Cafe where the idea of the movie came from as well as A Bug's Life, Finding Nemo and Wall-E) and where they show the clip of Harry Housans blowing up instead of the electric bubble from the final movie (it was changed late into production)
Second I'd like to point out that the master door is from the Monsters Inc Laugh Factory comics, though I haven't read the comics myself I just know its in the one where Waternoose uses it to scare children to the point where they can't laugh.
Also fun bit of trivia: On the lost media archives wiki there's an image of a lost scene from the movie that's never been seen or released of a closeup of a monster's scary teeth, and my personal theory is that its from the original version of the tryout simulator scene where Thaddeus originally didn't get scared by the kid (which was mentioned in the commentary on the DVD to have been changed very late into production) since the teeth line up perfectly with Thaddeus' and the lighting is extremely similar

In the monsters inc comics The master door is a door that Mr Waternoose used to go to differnt house and scare a lot of children and make monsters inc stop using laughs.

The "Sully Was Skinned For A Toilet Cover," theory is one of several Pixar Theories involving murder, insanity, or apocalypse that some Pixar fans will defend because "we're just having fun." So exhausting

Could you imagine the story being of Mike and Sully once being friends, but due to social status they break things off in college as Sully doesn't want to be associated with Mike? literally would've been even better than whatever camp coral garbage they pulled.

Guess Pixar can't make references to their old or new upcoming films because people take those too seriously.
Which created the "Pixar Theory" which I just do not believe at all.
Example like the whole "Cars killed off all humans" thing. The existence of humanity doesn't make sense to me and in a Mater Tall tale its showed that living cars from the 1800's existed. How can humans create living cars in the 1800's?? There was even a scrapped Mater Tall Tales idea where Mater would accidentally time travel back to prehistoric times and there were these round living wheel things that I guess would later evolve into regular cars. And it was disproven again by Cars on the Road, where its confirmed cars existed before our existence (If you count when we humans came into our world), so humans never existed or had involvement in the Cars universe.

Multiple producers at Pixar, including Pete Doctor, have stated that the "Pixar Theory" is just a fan theory, and not something they had in mind when putting in easter eggs.
While I'm sure there are some pretty die hard Pixar Theory fans, most of them understand and acknowledge that it isn't true, and that it is just fun to think about.

Bonnie is actually boo as an older kid and one day Sulley decided he wanted to opened the door to see his old friend again only instead he got the surprise of a life time as Bonnie's dad was there instead and was so horrified of what monstrosity was before him he screamed and sprinted to the kitchen. Being the nice monster Sulley was he tried to calm him down thinking he could be his fried but once the time was right Bonnie's dad stabbed him 23 times in the heart and cut his body into 19 pieces. He cut his chest where he held boo next to his heart into a round seat for the toilet and this little did he know allowed her to always be close to his chest when ever she went to the bathroom. This is why Roz made the roomer that kids are toxic, she knew that if someone got too attached it was only a matter of time until.......it happened....such a sad story but her memories of her best friend helping her hide from randal in the bathroom scene will always live on in the form of a fuzzy toilet cover.
