"Secret Pixar Monkey" refers to a chimp that was mingling around the Pixar Studio. It's is seen in the bonus features on the DVD.

Funny thing about the “jealous since the fourth grade” line, in the Monsters Inc. teaser trailer, Sully says to Mike, “Remember the fifth grade? When you spent all your time passing notes to Susie Boils? The rest of us were studying geography!” implying that Sully has known Mike since at least the fifth grade.
to add to that, there WAS going to be a scene where mike and sully have met, at least since kindergarten
Regarding the entry "Mike was a late addition":
In the Orignal Treatment of Monsters Inc, Mike didn't exist, only Sully did. Sully (who had different names like Johnson, or Mulley) was an incompetent scarer who was bad at his job similar to Thaddeus Bile in the final film, meanwhile Boo was older and had more attitude instead of the sweet innocent girl that we know today, and she had 2 brothers who bullied and scared her, and one day she had enough and attacked them, but she ended up attacking Sully instead thinking he was her two brothers in disguise again. Later on she ends up in Sully's monster world, and decides to help Sully to become a better scarer, essentially she was the brains of the team, and one could compare Mary's earlier version to what Mike became.
You can even see that in the earlier design of Boo you showed that she has visual similarities to Mike, with her Green costume, her pigtails looking like horns and a fake third eye, all of these aspects would be carried to Mike's final design (Green Monster, Horns, and cyclopian), which is why Mike's design was never altered as much as Sully's (outside of getting arms), his basically was finalized and already in motion as a character.
All the writers did was seperate Mary into 2 characters: The little girl was made younger and more innocent, and the smart and genre savvy personality she had was given to a new character: Mike Wazowski.
I hope this helped to clarify.
Two additional factoids that I know about:
- Boo's lines were recorded while she was playing around in the Pixar studio. They originally wanted her in a sound booth to record some lines, but she was too energetic to sit still, so all of the voice lines used in the film were of the sound crew recording Mary while she played around.
- As an expansion to the "doors allow monsters to time travel" theory, it's believed that the reason Monsters Incorporated perpetuates the idea of children being toxic is to discourage monsters from interfering with the time period they're sent to. This also expands on the idea of why they're so paranoid of monsters bringing objects belonging to human children back to the monster world.
Then why would water noose be talking about "kids these days, they don't get scared like they used to"
@@pjvalenzona2002 the explanation in the Pixar theory is that the doors can time travel, but not always to the same point in the timeline - the past keeps moving forward like the present (for example, let's say that the monsters live in the year 3012 and they time travel to 2012 to get screams - 12 years laters, the monsters would be in 3024 and they would only be able to go back to this year, 2024)
On the topic of the first thing on the list, there was a deleted scene from Monsters University where Mike and Sulley met in fourth grade and formed a long rivalry before Mike moved away when graduating from school.
I think randall just deals with having bad eyesight, it explains why he squints in the original film :)
Doesn't he have to look real close at the newspaper to see Mike was at the Harry Housen's incident as well?
mike could just be on vacation when he’s snorkeling in the finding nemo credits. one of the episodes of monsters at work implies mike wanted to use a vacation door
So one giraffe thing. On the 2 disc edition of the dvd. disc 2 has an Easter egg list. One of the Easter eggs mentioned is that the Giraffe from Boo’s room and be seen stalking Mike and Sully and certain points of the film. And there is even a hidden animation of the giraffe returning to boos room
I feel like the Kingdom Hearts stuff could make for a few more entries. Like how Pixar considered it canon, or how Randall's plan involved doing _something_ bad enough to perpetuate a cycle of trauma that would make fear a renewable resource.

Also, a lot of people are asking why I said that Randall ended up in jail after the movie. In the comic book with Sid in it, we see Randall return to the human world and eventually, he is imprisoned. Though it doesn't happen in the movies, it is cannon to my understanding.

The idea of monsters discriminating other monsters is the most canon thing I've seen in the two movies of the franchise.
I noticed that monsters who are conjoined are seen as 1 person in monster society (I don't know if this is canon or not, but this is my theory) because in Monsters University, Mike thought that his team would join because they were six but then the announcer (idfk what was his name but he was the purple bird dude) said that the conjoined twins count as 1 person, and the twins seemed like they were offended by it because of the announcer seeing them as 1 person and not respecting their individuality and that they are two people.
And yeah, it seems so sad that they have to deal with crap like that. But I didn't notice fire-breathers also have discrimination as well, it's a small but interesting detail that really fleshes out the society in the Monsters Inc/Monsters University world.

Well, they didn't officially meet until college. When Mike looks at Sully, he scowls indicating that they've seen each other but have never officially been introduced.

I don't think randall ever got corrective eye surgery because when he takes off his glasses in the prequel he's shown squinting like he always does in the first movie, I personally think he just got used to struggling to see
The opening scene of Monsters Inc where Bile scares the animatronic kid still unsettles me to this day, like I usually have to skip the scene or change the channel to avoid it
I'm guessing it's Bile's reaction to being shocked himself? When I was young, I always found it unsettling how his eyes moved like a cartoon character when he fell on the jacks.
@@werce9120 no I meant the whole scene before Bile's reaction, from the lid realizing something's wrong to Bile slowly rising up from under the bed
For me, it’s the child animatronic that creeps me out. I don’t know why, but the dated animation makes it look so unsettling.

One little interesting fact. In the final scene between Boo and Sully, there is this Giraffe height chart in Boos room, however, in one shot (the shot where Sully and Boo hug) the Giraffe is missing since it would have been too distracting for the audience, then for the final shot of Boos room, the Giraffe is back. There was joke scene by the animators that after Sully closed the door, the Giraffe reenters the room. What makes this far more interesting is that in one wide shot of Monsters. INC, the Giraffe can be seen following Mike and Sully to work. Kinda creepy huh?
The more obscure iceberg videos are so much better.
The other comments have explained Mike being a late addition and the secret Pixar monkey, but I can't find anything about there being an official reason why Sulley was absent from the Laugh Floor attraction. I tried.
Eddache is pronounced like headache but with a edd and it’s not speculation the giraffe follows mike and sully to work
13:35 also probably because the canisters are named 'scream' as they're used in context to contain specificly scream energy but they (in reality) can contain any sound energy.
I wonder if fire-breathers were the ones that propelled monsters to their technological superiority seen in the movie due to their innate nature to produce one of our most influential discoveries.

I think do to the idea that of the monster world being in a different time rate compared to the human world or possibly being time fluid ( if the doors go to different time periods theory is to be believed) I think the fact the old woman in brave having a sully statue may have been just him scaring her as a child or maybe it's Tully's ancestors doing so
The way “Eddache” was pronounced really gave me a bad HEADACHE

1:55 it actually is the giraffe following mike and sulley to work.
There's a bonus feature one the two disc addition of monsters inc call 'guide to in jokes' that shows different little gags and Easter eggs that were hidden throughout the film and one of them was that the giraffe seen in Boo's room can be seen following mike and sulley to work in that scene.

13:40 Strangely, this actually comes up in Kingdom Hearts. Vanitas seems to be making a case the monsters are using 'darkness' as much as any of the bad guys (thru negative emotions) and Mike angrily interrupts out they don't use screamers anymore. But Vanitas points out that the company is using all the existing canisters and scream energy still hanging around. I think the implication is he thinks they're hypocrites.

Ik this video is 2 years old but I got some clarifications to some of the stuff mentioned:
- The clip with the giraffe was actually confirmed to be there by the animators on the disc 2 bonus content
- Nothing implied Randall got contacts or corrective surgery since in University and Inc he squints without his glasses on
- Secret Pixar Monkey refers to certain hidden bonus features on disc 2 that showed clips of a monkey that they had at Pixar
- The Laugh Factory comic series and any of the games are (with the exception of KH3) not canon especially now with Monster's at Work being released and nothing from those comics being referenced
- The Circle 7 script for Monster's Inc Lost in Scaradise was released and the old lady isn't actually Boo. She had moved away and that was a different lady now living in her house
I had the 2002 edition of the DVD and that Japanese ad there just brought back memories not unlocked for 20 years. Goddamn...

Does anyone know anything about “Sully originally intended to die of old age”? There’s no link in the description about it and I haven’t found anything online either
one of the early concepts was that sulley was banned from the monster world or something so he lived with boo for the rest of their lives

Nice attempt. This could’ve used some material from Monsters at Work.
Also, Randall wasn’t arrested. Sully threw Randall through a closet door belonging to that trailer home seen in A Bug’s Life and then smashed said door so Randall wouldn’t be able to return through that door. Henry J. Waternoose was the one who was arrested for conspiring with Randall.
As revealed in the comic book shown in the video, Randall eventually escaped the human world but was arrested once he got back! Also, I'd love to cover some Monsters at Work stuff in a follow up, there just weren't any entries from the show in this iceberg, which was created by someone else.

Does anyone knowsif monsters have kinetic energy or solar energy? My thought process is that doors are powered by humans...but they need power to get to humans...paradox, how did they get humans before power? Are there other ways to get power in the monster world but just less effective?

No, you really got it wrong about the plot of Scaradise.
The plot for the cancelled sequel was that Mike and Sully decides to visit Boo only to see that she moved houses hence why they come across a old lady in her bed. It then would've revolve both of them trying to find Boo in the human world.
