Thanks for the two MK videos, Gabe. We've done 18 flights between Cape Town and SSR since 2010 so I'm always keen to see videos about Air Mauritius as I have a soft spot for them. Since COVID the airline has had a lot of issues due to numerous changes in management, and they were in danger of complete collapse at one time. Luckily our last two flights in May went well with no delays. But delays and cancellations seem to plague them at the moment. Glad you enjoyed the vanilla tea which is one of my favourites and I always come home with plenty in my luggage! Thanks for the great videos - keep them coming!!!
Thank you for watching and that's interesting to hear about how you've seen them change over time. Luckily in my experience everything seemed to be working well!
Great video showing the very nice onboard services of our beloved air mauritius 🇲🇺 . The Airport name is pronounced as Sir Seewoosagarr 0:07 btw... only the last part of your pronunciation sounds weird😅. Anyway really loved your review ...Certainly it's not a flight review video if there isn't the take off footage and showing it in your really made me feel the power of those robusts RR A350 engines 2:54 , you nailed itt!!❤
yeah same feelings with that beautiful A350, in my case the last years between Holland & Finland and back in 2022 the first time from Helsinki to Schiphol with the Finnair A330 - 300, also a great experience ❤
I still have the same feeling for the Boeing 777 when it comes to engines spooling up for take off power. It’s all a matter of perspective I guess. I followed the 777 from development to entry into service and several different versions. I’m not a 350 fan at all. Cabin is okay but the nose is too stubby for my liking. I recognize your excitement that you have for the 350 and that’s what I still have for the Boeing 777.
I agree! Someone was propaganding against the airline in being among worst! How foolish and stupid! Its among the best for me. Ive travelled Virgin, Air France, Emirates, and low costs. But Air Mauritius has its own level. Keep up the good work to Air Mauritius.
Hi Gabe, great video and I'm not surprised by your verdict and you're right, however your video title of the best Airline in Africa will be debatable, I would instead say World's leading Airline in the Indian Ocean, that Air Mauritius, not my words of course, World travel awards.
@@airedition haven't flown on any of them, but if where talking airlines in Africa, I would say ET, Ethiopian Airlines. Airlines in the Indian Ocean Region MK, Air Mauritius
@@gpierre90I don’t think ET is actually very good. Almost none of their planes have a business class with direct aisle access, for starters. And Mauritius is considered part of Africa. Having a separate classification of Indian Ocean airlines doesn’t make a lot of sense to me because there aren’t that many!
@airedition yeah it may be considered as part of Africa, same as my home island country, the Seychelles, however if you check the way Skytrax does the awards and perhaps world travel awards, I never saw any of the Indian Ocean airlines appear on their nominations list for the best Airline in Africa instead they give another category best Airline in the Indian Ocean, Fair point though.
I did consider it on and off over the years. In fact I still sometimes do. But I always end up deciding that I'd rather do this for a job. So far hehe.

@@airedition Well, we're all lucky in here as long as you decide to stick with what you're currently doing 👍
For me, it's totally unacceptable that any airline should run out of the food choice when you have paid extra money to fly Business Class, First Class or, even, Premium Economy.

I also love the 777! It's a different experience to the 350 for sure. But I look forward to both.

Yeah I hope to fly them again at some point soon!

Thanks for the comment. Which African airline would you say is better?

Maybe put a snapshot of the menu in the video.
Next time I will!
Gabe, do you like emirates or not
I made two videos about Emirates, you should check them out!
Did you ever considered becoming a pilot?
I did consider it on and off over the years. In fact I still sometimes do. But I always end up deciding that I'd rather do this for a job. So far hehe.
