I was in Perth in 1982 and it remains a great city. I then flew to Syndey on a brand new Qantas 747 and was invited to sit in the cockpit for about an hour. Absolutely awesome as we went across Australia, and never forgotten. Sad that this is no longer possible.
Great report! Totally agree with you on the “lackluster” menu options… I would have looked forward to some more exotic, spicy, Mauritian cuisine options, local teas etc…when flying on the national carrier of such a diverse island. Enjoy beautiful Mauritius !!!
I am flying Air Mauritius business from London to Perth in November - This has been a great guide! I might go pick up a bottle of mauritian rum during my 14 hour layover :-)
Hey Gabe, nice to hear and see. Beautiful aircraft and you got a good time back to europe. The Fokker are mostly the Former KLM F 70. Love them. Enjoy and greetx from FRA kai
Hey Gabe, Those little critters you saw are indeed Wallabies. They are distinguishable mainly due to their smaller size compared to Roo's. Glad you got to see them though.
@@aireditionyour welcome btw I’m the person who contacted you about the subscription problem for hold on flight radar 24 I’m Kyle idk when I did it since I was a month or so ago but I like how you said it was going to be done by Thursday the following week and I’m proud of the app you guys have created and I’m so glad to be part of suck a wonderful app and channel
Hi Gabe, As always, I enjoyed flying w/ you. About Perth, I first heard of it away back when astronaut John Glenn made his 3 orbits of the earth in 1962 and the citizens turned on all the lights so he could see the city as his capsule passed over...RogerC 8/2/24
I flew with my partner a couple of years ago to Mauritius on Air Mauritius in economy. The staff, food and flight was great but I never got a seat sitting next to my partner she was one row ahead or behind me. I had never been in different rows before on a long haul flight when booked together? The flight was full and the airline had only just started flying back into Perth after the disruptions. I will definitely fly them again though.
My home city. I haven't been touring around all that much, though - too busy working to actually be a tourist in my own city. I'd love to just spend a few nights at the Ritz-Carlton, though!
@Gabe Leigh, Just seen your video, I have to say I am Happy that MK still has the MRU-PER-MRU route, I have flown with them a very long time ago on the same route, though I was only 7yrs old, at the time, just as a reference I'm 34 now. Long long time ago and they still had the A340-300 aircraft. To date it's also my first and hopefully not my last flight with them. The A330Neo is a nice aircraft in my opinion and I would love to board this aircraft. Anyway besides MK, I was also looking forward to see to other things, one on the MK moving map which I got a glimpse of, my native home, the beautiful Seychelles islands, and two perhaps to see our national airline Air Seychelles A320Neo in MRU which I did not see. Though to be quite fair, I did get to see my favourite and prefered airline and that is Emirates and the iconic A380. ❤ that airline, I was hoping to see another unbiased review aside from Sam Chui's on HM. Perhaps it's in the works somewhere, HM also has flights from SEZ to MRU and also flights to JNB and BOM, not a huge network which I am a little ashamed to admit, we use to have a wider network at some point back like SIN, LHR, MXP and FCO, those were the days, maybe one day we might see that again and hopefully long haul aircrafts like we use to have. Anyway MK yeah very nice, perhaps one day I can redo that route again.
The reason why the food on Air Mauritius is more european than Mauritian is because mauritian people will complain that they fly business on air Mauritius and paid a premium price to get the same food experience that they usually have at home. Disappointing situation for visitors looking forward to discover Mauritius gastronomy by flying Air Mauritius but unfortunately Air Mauritius is a government influence airline and politics ( people pleasing attitude) plays a massive role in the decision making process. Mauritius doesn’t produce high class wine. The wine in Mauritius can be very delicious but again if you serve Mauritian wine on the flights complaints will start piling up again 😂
Gabe, I'm from Mauritius. We don't produce wine(from grapes) but we produce lychee wine or pineapple wine... the grape wine produced in Mauritius is low quality powered-based wine. Thank you for your video in Mauritius. I enjoy watching you on FR24 channel as well.
Are you drunk? you talk like, show videos of Saudi Arabia, and talk about Trump's election????? While other streams, show Russians surrendering in their hundreds
It is funny tho see that a lot of small airlines buy the a330 neo like air mairitius and air greenland. I followed on all platforms btw and liked 👍❤️❤️ o almost forgot taged en shared on instagram
Awesome that the pilots shared the cockpit footage with you!

Thanks! Was fun to see them either way 😀
@Gabe Leigh I live in Perth And they are Called Kangaroos not wallabies and Perth is nice lots of plane spotting
People seem to disagree on the kangaroo/wallaby question, very interesting! Thanks for the comment!

Nice! u missed the AN-124 though it came yesterday
Hey Gabe! Really good video, love the views of the approach.
I have shared your video on Facebook, as a chance to get that amazing amenity kit!
Thanks a lot!
Hi @fly.ing747 you've won the amenity kit, congrats! Will you please message me on Instagram @gabeleigh to arrange where to send it?

That’s annoying with the seat swaps but I’m glad to hear it was overall good!

Thanks! Yeah I’ve spotted the HM aircraft at JNB before and thought that would be a cool flight to take one day!
awesome video bro!!
Thank you!
Nice clips of Perth, and yes the kangaroos were Wallabies. Next time come back to Perth for a bit longer time, and maybe try local flights up north.
Yes I definitely need to do that.
London to Perth was showing on AM just over £3k, other 1 stop flights were £4-4.5K.
Worth the saving?
I would say so yes!
Thank you for another fantastic video!🙌 I've just shared it on X/twitter and Im hoping to win the amenity kit. Fingers crossed!
Thank you very much!
Yo finally a Canadian on Air Mauritius
Yes, those are Wallibies, a smaller cousin of Kangaroos. Great review by the way, thanks.
Thanks!

That’s a really interesting insight and not one I would have thought of, thanks a lot for the info!
You should have asked the little creatures what they are. Sorry I didn't realise you don't speak Aussie.
Mauritius doesn't produce wine
A quick search will reveal several wineries in Mauritius 😉
No vineyards in Mauritius. The wine produced is chemical not natural wine with grapes

Amazing thanks! Yeah the 330neo is a great airplane for smaller airlines doing long haul.
