Tom you're an inspiration! whatever you are doing its obviously working! :) I keep several type of corys myself and this is inspiring me to pay more close attention to CW010's cause Im pretty sure they are spawning in their current set up! also now i know where to look for for eggs and all the triggers! Im sure they both have similar behaviors! keep inspiring! cheers!!!
I am a neighbor of yours to the north. I have bred sterbai, plain albino and I am working on a little colony of orange venezuelan. My water is liquid rock and I am doing it without an RO system. Bucket list. :)
Looks like the higher current leaves were what they bred on, maybe move your mop into more current? I have that same box, I add a small air stone for extra circulation, my Cory eggs need high water movement usually. Love the channel, new subscriber!
Nice Tom. I also noticed 2 different color variations in there are they different or just Male and female. Some look green others look lighter like gold or yellow. What's the difference? Thanks for the videos. Would be nice to see an update on the eques. Love those.
Congrats on the spawn! The only corydoras I've spawned is bronze, albino and paleatus. I have groups of weitzmani, pygmy and aspidoras spilotus that I'm hoping to get to spawn soon.
I’ve shown them in other vids. They’re doing great. About 7/8-1”. I got 90+. Just started selling them this week. Sold about 20 already. The adults just spawned again yesterday late afternoon.
My females are 2”. Males are 1.5”. I have orange lasers that started spawning at around 1.25”. Doesn’t take long. Most corys can breed much sooner than most people realize.
👋 Thanks Bob. About 1/3 of the eggs are bad. I’m guessing many more will go bad since it’s another two days before they hatch. I’m hoping to end up with 10-20. I’d be good with that for the first spawn.
The way I managed to have babies survive in the tank with adults was to take riccia or some type of moss and put it close to a piece of wood and I kind of dropped some of the eggs in those areas and the little ones once they hatched stayed in there around the Moss until they got big enough to venture out without getting eaten and I've raised a bunch in the tank with multiple adults that way.
G’day Mate, Was wondering what are the dimensions of the tank it’s hard to judge and even when told it’s x gallon the dimensions could be anything. Also are they dried oak leaves in your tank? If so can you use dead/dried oak branches as tank decoration? Also do you collect other botanical too?
It’s a 40 gal breeder tank. 36x18”. Yes, I use oak leaves. I collect in the fall, boil them for a few minutes and dry for storage. I toss in a handful every now and then. Oak wood is perfectly safe, as long as it’s been prepared properly. Maple leaves are safe as well, but break down faster. Haven’t tried any other native botanicals.
My breeders have been very good about not eating eggs don’t know if this is a green laser thing or just this group. Have about 300 .75 inch hanging around.🌴😎🏴☠️
........did you say 300 😳. I plan on leave my the next spawn in the tank and not touching them. It’s been a couple days and at least 1/3 of the eggs are bad. As long as I get a few fry, it will be considered a success.
Let me know below if you’ve kept and bred Corydoras, and which kind 👍
TM Aquatics I just breed the albinos. But I also have a small group of emeralds (brochis splendens) and about a dozen metae (bandit)
Yes, tri-line corys , they are at it again just last week lol (fake Julie’s), I’m looking at getting the Black Venezuela soon!

Thanks and good luck! 👍
TM Aquatics ditto 🍻
Congrats Tom! Green lasers are beautiful
Thanks Ron. One of my favorites. They’re doing great and getting big. Beginners luck! 👍

Love corys, and congratulations on the spawn
The green laser cory is my favorite... I love cory cats just havnt had any in a long time due to having much larger fish.
I am in love with this one 😮

Thanks. They did seem to place more eggs around the high current areas. 👍
Congrats Tom!
Dude! Congrats. That’s awesome. I’d be stoked if I was you.
I have 13 in a 55 gallon and they are very awesome fish! I want more!
I might have a bunch for sale in a couple months 😉👍

That’s a great question that I cannot answer. Likely differences in collection points. Most my captive bred are almost always the lighter green.
I've had Pepper and Panda babies.

Nice! I was just looking at the weitzmani. Might be getting a group of cw049 soon. We’ll see.
Awesome!!!
I just had corydora habrosus spawn in community setup... no survivors lol
Correction!.... corydora aggazzi
Hopefully next time. Could you have done anything different to improve survival percentages?
I think I would need to put them in their own tank with some dither fish... I have big albino geophagus heckilli in my 240g community tank
Do you have another video with te results of these eggs and next babies...??
I’ve shown them in other vids. They’re doing great. About 7/8-1”. I got 90+. Just started selling them this week. Sold about 20 already. The adults just spawned again yesterday late afternoon.
What is the size of the parent fish? And how long does it take for the fry to mature?
My females are 2”. Males are 1.5”. I have orange lasers that started spawning at around 1.25”. Doesn’t take long. Most corys can breed much sooner than most people realize.
Tom I keep a variety as you know. I’ve had several spawns but no hatches. My orange lasers have never spawned that I’m aware of. Cool spawn and vid!

Awesome setup wow
Is it true that the lasers are super shy, to the point you never seen them?

I saw a couple videos showing how you can tweak that breeder box inflow so it won't make such a loud chugging sound. (if that bothers you)
It really doesn’t. It’s downstairs and I only hear it when I’m in the fish room. But thanks. Good to know it can be silenced. 👍

I have a group of 7 pandas, I’m hoping they breed soon! While I wait, I have 7 CPD fry in my 10 gal shrimp tank.
That's awesome! I have orange lasers and I'm having trouble getting them to spawn. I'll do what you have done. Remove the other fish.
Good luck, hope it works for you.
Amazing video and beautiful fish room😍😍😍👍
New frend here...

300 was from three spawns I just moved the breeders when I saw fry in the tank. TDS was 176 temp 77 tanks were 20 highs with lots of spawning mops.
remove the 2 plants Do a 70% water change use water that is 6-8 degrees colder then boom 300 eggs
Oh look the guy who makes me realize
how much of a loser I am with the house and fish room he owns. Lol just kidding love your channel.
