    NIL isn’t an issue. How it’s run is. Players should get paid for jersey sales, video game sales but it’s gotten out of hand with these deals

      Yup. NIL shouldn't have been hundreds of millions of dollars in recruitment. It should be paid wages for attending events. They should have a profit share of jersey sales with their number while in attendance. It's now just millionaires paying kids tens of millions of dollars annually to buy them from each other like slave trade really

    Bear Alexander is a good case study. His freshman year, he was a rotational player on the national championship winning UGA defensive line. That offseason he demands a guarantee at a starting job, UGA doesn’t, and he transfers to USC. Two seasons later and he’s transferring again.. and ironically is visiting UGA.
    Some things are obvious.

So get back to being in a QB battle for 2nd string."

    I understand why it’s frustrating from a coaches perspective. Especially one who is used to developing his players from the bench and having them stick around to see the field as a senior.
    But he’s only considering his own perspective. This is a professional league now. And with the way their free agency process works, there really isn’t any programs anymore? Every team is just that this year’s version. The coaches move around so much, the players aren’t forced into staying for a given year. Why would a backup sit for 3 years waiting for his opportunity? Just to have another 5 star guy transfer in once the #1 finally graduates and he misses his chance?
    The players gotta play the game at hand. And it isn’t the same game anymore. They need to look at what is best for them on a year to year basis. Which coordinator is a good fit, their system, the talent they’re competing against for playing time. A smart player would enter the portal every single year and take this into consideration.

  • @cosmostrek2001

    • @jeanc11
      @jeanc11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A joke is to think students shouldn’t be able to change school for what they deem a better playing opportunity. Other schools deserve to recruit players who are looking for a better program for them. Putting things in contracts like that will inevitably bring in guaranteed playing time, which can override coaching decisions, since boosters have a big say in coaches salaries as well

    The issue is that society stopped teaching DELAYED GRATIFICATION - the ability to resist immediate rewards in favor of a more valuable reward later.
    Hard when most kids have been raised by social media as well as entertainment media🤷‍♀️ (Especially because of COVID)
    Its also an issue of comprehension and logical fallacy, with people readily making HASTY GENERALIZATIONS - drawing conclusions based on prior assumptions with little evidence.
    Curry shoots 3s and is the best player, therfore I must shoot 3s to be the best player. Thats why the NBA strugglin rn.

      @MJ-rl7pj staying in adversity does not mean staying in a failing culture. You jumped to the extreme of my argument, suggesting that people stay in every single bad situation at all times, which is a misrepresentation of my views. Instead, people need to use critical thinking when it comes to their success. I know guys in the portal now that are gonna be without a home after having full rides because they didn't want to sit for 2 years. That's impatience, not "betting on myself." Just my opinion though🤷🏾‍♀️

    I see no problem with them getting their money now because we have see any player can have a devastating injury and never be the same and miss out on millions in the nfl.
    Get it while you can because you never know what happens tomorrow. It's also the evening ground for ncaa across the board so the teams are not so top heavy with 5 teams having all the best players.

    I understand players wanting to get paid but this whole thing with the NIL and the transfer portal needs to be looked at again. First and foremost with what college players can do now and still play and not loose a year? Players will know when they are getting a team mate who is only out for himself instead of being a team player long before they hit the NFL landscape? Doesn't NFL players under contract need to ask for a trade or release? Meanwhile a college athlete who got a scholarship to play says no I don't want to be here anymore I want to go here? Do they have to pay back the scholarship that could have gone to someone who would have been a dog fighting to earn their spot? I'm guessing yeah not so much. NCAA Football and Basketball used to be 2 of my favorite games back in the day. But if offer you a full scholarship, which means you have a chance at a higher education that is paid for but you still want to get paid more? So in many cases kids that worked and played their asses off to try get to the next level, which would be college? Mr. Bigfoot we are willing to give you a fully paid scholarship to play here for the next at least to 3 to 4 years? Nope sorry, You gave me a free ride through college but I'm gonna bounce? Because i didn't feel you gave me the chance ?

    • @jeanc11
      @jeanc11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your whole mentality is stupid. The scholarship is not a charity, nobody is holding hostage to schools to offer scholarships. They can refuse to give scholarships and let’s see what kind of football program they have. The athletic scholarship is an investment they get a big return on, and unlike your old dummy brain, these young players have figured out they deserve a piece of they pie, plus laws of this country deem it as such. Schools that don’t want to pay scholarships can refuse, & let those who want to offer do so, and boosters will do what they want. It’s not like coaches are getting paid professors money, even though they are also part of the university. They are paid millions, because they help bring in more millions. So do the players. These schools were getting alot of money and paying pennies in investments called scholarships.

They would have loved to topple the dynasty. You clearly don't understand the man that is Nick Saban. He is way more than just a coach. He quit coaching because he couldn't train boys to be men anymore which is where his and Mrs Terry's real passion was. When you are dealing with a bunch of paid professionals, you can't teach them anymore.
