    Time and time again I'm impressed by how much thought you put into the health of your birds. It all makes sense, the redundancy you put in place to keep them safe, all the details that I would never come up with in the first place. It shows just how much you love your birds, this love shines through in every video of yours I watch

    Looks fantastic but you are gonna have too do something with your electric cables. Your going to have to place them in metal conduit pipe and cage the light and air mover, because your conure is 100% going to try and chew on it. You could place the airmover in a dog cage for example. If you do get wire mesh for the bird room then making a cage for your wall light is very simple to build, just find a cardboard box big enough to enclose the light ,unfold it and copy the outline on the flat wire mesh .cut and fold useing wire hog clips to hold the sides box. Fix to the wall with some simple wire clips from your hardware store.

    • @FlockTalk
      @FlockTalk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cables will be getting concealed in the appropriate tubing for chew-proofing as soon as I've decided exactly where everything is going to stay!
      Why would I need to conceal the air filter? any of the dangerous mechanics are completely concealed + gaps are far too small for bird feet to fit in, the casing is already metal they won't be able to chew through, a dog kennel wouldn't really protect it from chewing since they could just fit in the gaps between the bars! The light doesn't get hot to any extent so I'm also not entirely sure why it would require a basket cover, to keep them from tampering with the ballast I suppose?
      That light has been completely uncovered for a few years so I'd just like to know what hazard I've been missing there!
      The wires absolutely! I'm just not following you 100% on the rest of it!

    I may try to fashion drawers than can be pulled out instead of rotating bowls. Love the room super cool. I don't even have a bird yet, but am taking my time with constant research to create the right environment for the parrot I do get. Still looking at Superb Parrots, Linnies, and Parrotlets. Not doing a total room, but making over a china closet or cabinet. Front will be acrylic sides and top metal fabric. Door in door on the sides, drawers on the bottom to change out papers etc. Then I will buy my bird. Having trouble finding a breeder. I live in northern Arkansas, very rural. Planning on going to the Missouri Bird Fair in October. Any advice?

    I love how you mounted to cage to the wall, I am planning to do that with my own bird cage, but why did you not put a plastic sheet behind it to make it easier to clean? Do your birds not fling their food? Mine do and it gets stuck to the wall

    • @FlockTalk
      @FlockTalk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cages only get used for sleeping so food doesn’t end up over there, if it does the wall panels we chose are already slick and easy to clean so I wouldn’t worry about an extra plastic barrier for my room’s setup. Otherwise yeah, a plastic barrier sounds like a great idea for a standard wall!

    • @Minecraftfangirl1
      @Minecraftfangirl1 ปีที่แล้ว

    So is the panneling just wood? Or hardboard? I really want to do what you did with the perches, but I'm trying to get a good idea on the materials you used!

    • @FlockTalk
      @FlockTalk  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hardboard would be the more accurate descriptor for it, large wood sheets with screen printed imagery so it looks nice but doesn’t have a ton of seams a bird could grab on to and chew

    • @Taylor-ws2xc
      @Taylor-ws2xc 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So did you just drill through the board and put the perch in the board itself? Or are they into the wall aswell

    • @FlockTalk
      @FlockTalk  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They’re in to the wall, could easily be replicated without my wood wall panels.
      It’s more secure if you utilize a drywall anchor and screw the perch in to that but it can be done without it- I just find they end up spinning around over time that way.
      Quite literally it’s just drill a hole in the wall, screw the perch in to it, done!

    • @Taylor-ws2xc
      @Taylor-ws2xc 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @FlockTalk ok! I think I just spaced out you explaining it in the video! 🤣 I have plaster and just picked up some hardboard panels for my project! Hello I found another video of yours it's much more recent just says it's posted two weeks ago.
    I'm a subscriber to your videos enjoy them their educational and you're very well experienced in Paris so I have a question for you.
    * I just purchased what I ordered from a male from a breeder was the request for a male Pacific Blue parallel your breeder Owosso owns the Pirate Store said he knows a breeder that has for parrotlets babies that are just eating seeds in a good to buy now to their fine that you parakeets eat at this point because of his young age so I want you to know when I booked Italy wasn't their woman was at the store when today Friday the 28th when I went to pick him up and I picked the darkest one of the four blue ones which way because once was purchased that morning anyways I said to the woman I don't see a Blue Streak next to his eye which means that the male she said that's because they're so young and I said I was going to see the dark blue colored ramp at which is like a royal blue she said that's because they're so young I said wow okay so I'm buying the bird and I said I have a question again and how do you know this is not a female how do you tell the sex at such a young age that if you can tell by the plumage and she looked you turn the bird over and looked at the vent and said I would say it's the mail so I sure will what happens if it turns out to be a female later on can I bring it back for an exchange since I'm paying $350 for the bird for a male females are much cheaper she said now you can exchange it but I have to take that up with the guy that got the birds that owns the store that got the birds for me to begin with.
    * so my question to you is how what are the techniques can you look at a parrot and determine is only two months old he or she how do you determine the sex of a parrotlet at such a young age? Can you tell me if there's any other things to look for that will indicate it's a male or female.? Thank you so much I'm a subscriber and I did enjoy your videos as I mentioned before and I look forward to your videos and future and your reply regarding at determining the sex of a parrotlet at two months of age. Thank you Fred PS I guess if I get a reply from you it'll be in my TH-cam account I assume thank you

    • @FlockTalk
      @FlockTalk  ปีที่แล้ว

      The plumage would give away their gender even at a young age. Even their first set of feathers will still have very visual differences. Males have stark dark cobalt blue behind the eye, along the wing, and at the rump.

    • @fredrock1082
      @fredrock1082 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FlockTalk would it be okay for me to send you a picture or a couple pictures of my baby parrotlet talking about the breeder and the woman at the store that's familiar parents are unfamiliar with the weather with the male-female and I specifically ordered a male cost 350. And she said well as I mentioned that the bird so young as it gets a little older than feathers may show that it's a mad but they don't know at this point but it clearly your post says that the first feathers that come in will distinguish whether it's a male or not or female and I start the same thing that the rump Is Not Afraid blue so doblo and there's no chilled wine color teal line stripe behind the eye. Because I had a male parrotlet. And he had a line behind his. Yes he was older girls about 6 months old when I got them and he had a Royal Blue Ridge blue tail lamp. So obviously I'm being misled I think I'll send you some pictures if possible to attach pictures to this this posting thing? I like for your opinion to see the show you pictures in a little Feller or it that's it for now. Because then I'm going to call the breeder up I specifically requested a male. Is it possible for me to attach some pictures that you can look at and tell me what you think of close-up of the head and the rum I pull the wings back so you could see the rum.? Fred.
