I live in a house with alcoholics. 4 of them, my mom, dad, sister and brother. No matter what I do they try to drag me down, boohoo right? I dont let it, next month I'm getting a house, but I just wanted to say thanks to people like jocko willink, david goggins, and James Lawrence, just hearing positive things and reinforcing things I already knew helped me tremendously.
"The moment you realize the next step isn't going to kill you, and that next step is the first step to evolving, changing, growing and becoming literally the best version of yourself; that's the most beautiful thing".
"Once you started to move and engage, you realize two things 1. It is not scary as scary as you thought it was 2. You will actually start to enjoy what you are doing"
The quote i will remember and practice: "Having a giant goal is phenomenon, and you should. But as long as the time frame associated with it has the proper balance" Thanks for that.
There is no such thing as an impossible goal, just an impossible timeframe. Can't remember whose quote that is but once I heard it I never forgot it. Definitely something that you can't forget very easily.
Tom, I literally watch your videos every single day. They inspire me to be better and to do more in my daily journey of fulfilling my dreams and goals through my art, and helping others to do the same. Sunny is my cousin!!! My dad and her mom are siblings. I followed their Iron Cowboy journey, and have been, and continue to be, truly inspired by their example. I can’t believe how small this world really is, and how all of us are connected in one way or another. The number one thing that began changing my life, is a daily exercise routine, early each morning. It amazes me how the daily “small” habits and rituals determine our success in all other avenues in our lives. You’ve confirmed it; James confirmed it, and I’m very inspired. Thanks for making a difference in this world. 😊
Tom, thank you so much for allowing your interviewees to talk!! You are a great listener and that helps us to listen in a better way than when they are constantly interrupted by the interviewer. And the description info is a great time saver!! Thanks!! And I really love this interview with James Lawrence.
this man is so unique and rewired his brain so much, its amazing he can relate to others so well. So mentally strong. Totally reprogramed from the limiting beliefs that most of us destroy progress with. So much respect for his feats and also his ability to still relate with the common man. He wants to bring us along for the ride.
One of my favorite parts was the focus on not holding others to your standards. I often do this, but lately I have been realizing, it took a lot of effort to adjust my standards to this level. So when working with others, I try to help bring them along that journey, rather than expect them to have already made it. Another great episode Tom!
I've not watched the vid yet (I prefer to flick through the posts to get a feel of the msg) and your comment resonated with me too - I too can expect others to go for or want a level of success I want. Hearing there's a msg like that in the vid makes me want to watch it now ... off I go - thx
Great point, I am myself going through the same process. I am always passionate about what I do and it hurts when I come across people who have no motivation.
@Mamadou Faye I completely understand. I live in an area with newar zero motivation (at least compared to the level at which I am at). I have simply begun working harder on myself and in doing so have begun stumbling onto what other motivated people have found and as a result, I have begun finding those people. That would be my recommendation. Start reading more books at the store in the section they are found in. Start attending events that other motivated people would be likely to attend. Start moving where others who have the drive are likely to go themselves.
The one thing that I love about these messages, is that it has proven to me that it doesn’t take talent to build something great. I used always blame that, and say that, well , I wasn’t born with some special talent, and that kept me from building my dreams. However, since listening to these videos ,I have learned that ..that’s just an excuse, a bad habit , Because of this, I have gotten over myself and decided that excuses were nothing more than a bad habit that I need to release. And that is exactly what I have done, and because of you Tom, and all of the people that you interview, I have started building the life that I dream of.. Thank you so much . ✅❤️
Well it certainly helps growing up in a free non racist country, the vast majority of the world is set up by corrupt political and business forces keeping people in poverty and severely limiting any of their opportunities.
Tom, I just discovered your channel and am absolutely obsessed with it. The content is beyond outstanding. Thank you for having the standards that you do. Just first rate...thank you.
What a great and lovely man. RESPECT for his mental agility and strength. Truly believe that you get there by taking the steps between here and where you want to be.
I agree that one of the most important part is where he says that you should be a problem solver and not focus on the negative. Since I’m star doing this, it has caught my attention how many people focus on speaking so negative about problems instead of solving them and enjoying it while you’re at it!
James Lawrence is just so inspiring to say the least, after watching his documentary I really was so moved by his whole movement he created to create positive change in this world, he and his wife and family are all mentors and heros. Amazing story!!!!
I love your question about "Should you hold other people to your high standard?" I feel like you do Tom so this was huge for me to hear!! Thank you fur your show! I love every episode!!
There have been so many amazing interviews, clear back to Inside Quest. This is among the best. Simple, actionable, you can identify with him. Get moving, break it down into little chunks, be too busy to listen to the whining voice. Thank you to everyone involved!
True inspiration for anyone that wants to achieve something that no one has ever done before. The road is long but one step at a time for the right reasons and you can get to your potential. Happy journeys
Thank you for having James on the show! What an inspirational human being! It is amazing what the human spirit can achieve by not accepting pre-conceived limits!
I've just discovered your channel. Usually in the morning I like to listen to a couple of videos, either funny, educational or motivational. But one of your videos came up as part of a playlist and after I listened to it I was thinking "How did I not discover this guy until now?!?!?" OMG, your channel is amazing, thank you so much for sharing! 💓
I watched these videos everyday for a long time. While I was in flight school (helicopters) Working every odd job on the planet to pay for it myself, even being an uber driver and car salesman. At times I had absolutely nothing, but I saw these videos of people overcoming insurmountable obstacles so I refused to quit. Took me 3 times as long….but I made it through flight training, and paid for it myself. Thank you Tom
I know what my huge goal is thanks to both of these men THANKYOU... To be the guy that makes that negative voice in my head call in sick most if not all the days of my life. Generate high level of focus that bends me ... The whole of me to my will that mandates I perform the next step regardless the size of the obstacles.
Thank you! This was such an amazing talk! I got so much good stuff out of this! So many great quotes! One of the best for me was "Belief in yourself is learned by taking massive amounts of action. You have to immediately act and go after it!" And I can't not mention "The only limits are the ones that you set for yourself." All best to all of you guys! Cheers!
Every time I listen to James speak I am inspired yet again. His determination and sheer will is a testament to the endurance of the human body and spirit!
I loved this interview this is literally the story of my life. I've learned some if not all of the lessons explained by this legend. However, I know that there's still a long way before me but I shall just keep moving no matter what I promised it to someone I truly loved and I promised it to myself that I would achieve my goals.
What a fantastic interview. James has answered so many of my questions and has clarified certain challenging things I am questioning about myself and my life at the present time. Tom, you are a great interviewer. Your questions are clear, precise and straight to the point. What I appreciate about IT is how deep you are and how you are very talented in bringing out the best in your guests! Thank you for everything you do to help us 🌞🌟✨🙏
Bro I almost stopped watching the video after the first couple seconds. Why? Because one can only receive so much good advice in one video 🙏🏼 thank you so much for what you are doing. I feel your passion and I feel your cause, and it feels so genuine.
So amazing!! Absolutely love this mindset. Chipping off little things one step at a time. GO The Iron Cowboy! Thankyou Tom for starting IMPACT THEORY!! So Inspiring to keep moving forward!
By far one of my favorite videos, this man is incredible, his mental toughness is awesome. Really happy to know that there are more people out there with the same discipline. We are not alone!
50 Ironmans in 50 days?!? How is that even possible? How the hell his heart, brain and whole body survived this amount of stress? This is truely unbelieveable.. Gigantic WOW!
Tom, I was watching this an the thought just flowed to me..."Tom is really good at interviewing". You are...insanely good(like Steve Jobs would say) at it actually. Oh, and...thank you
Practical deep psychological judo. This session was like a dojo for the alter ego. Combine the James Lawrence episode with Amelia Boone and David Goggins and they can be bundled together as a "Mental Toughness" training. Thanks @tombilyey, as always, for bringing the f**kin thunder
Tom. Incredible. What a man, to define possibilities and human potential and endurance. There was a surge of uplifting of my mind wanting to do something big. Thank you for introducing him. Great episode.
once I achieve my goals , I will be thanking you Tom and all these wonderful guests on your program...each one of you have been so inspiring, its incredible👌
Tom you are my car buddy... thank you for making me detox all doubts. I always assume for some reason it's going to be the same motivational lecture but no I love how each guest has his/her own method. Respect from the way from Saudi Arabia
I read what is one ironman traithlon, it's 2-3 miles of swimming, 120-125 miles of bicycling, 25 something miles race, this man did 50 ironman triathlon on 50 consecutive days.. Human spirit is unbreakable
I would say hold people to your standard. I coach basketball which is not the same as running a business, but similar because I am the leader and I set the tone. This past season I found myself letting my players slip up a little because they were beginners so I cut them slack. I soon learned that I was more unhappy with my players than I was when I was tougher on them. Having my standards set high made me happier and while we struggled, we definitely improved a lot and I know the players really appreciated everything I had them go through.
I don't believe this..just a few weeks before I left a comment to get him on the show...I am so thankful @tombileyu, @impacttheory Was amazing.. thanks @jameslawrence
Not caring what anyone else thinks of me works to help me develop my vision, however, having no partner, no team, no support system is a limiting belief I keep running up against... I welcome any words of wisdom or outside perspective to help me either let go of all desire for connection or figure out how to connect more meaningfully.
Thats great , our desires and connections to the external is just our ego trying to fill a void which can already be filled as long as we connect with our true self.
Some things that helped me build my circle are 1) having the intention to build 2) being open to the possibility of it happening 3) letting go of attachment/neediness around the desire 4) going to personal devpt events 5) doing classes/courses related to my passions 6) service - by giving positive energy/info freely and consistently without expectation or attachment I attract appreciation and connections with people on that same wavelength
Here is one tough guy...who does not intimidate you by his accomplishments..but inspires you. Remember, he said he took a decade to make this happen..this is a so very human way to achieve those godly achievements! Thank you for this interview..
How the fuck have i had a mental breakdown from stress at work and suffered with the resulting anxiety and loss of self for two years. Then theres this guy putting himself through the amount of stress he does and be fine.
Tom, to answer your question about expectations of others, I think the best and only effective way is to convince who you lead that you believe that they can reach the standard you set. If your audience genuinely feels like their leader believes in them and they see the vision, there is no reason on their part that they don't meet or exceed your expectations. Best ✌
Hey Tom- If you want a future guest that possesses bulletproof discipline and is legendary in their craft, you should contact Cael Sanderson. He had a perfect NCAA record- 4 time NCAA champion and is an Olympic wrestling gold medalist. He's currently building a dynasty of a wrestling team at Penn State and has showed his ability to dominate in a leadership role. I have yet to see an interviewer pick his brain like you do. Viewers- If you want Tom to pick the brain of a proven champion, hit the thumbs up!
I listen to your podcast q morning as i jog , it's very inspiring ,I loved this iv, and Goggin's , like James ,whatever i do , i do it for my son, l loved the notion , Have a vision , but chunk it up in small pieces so that you don't feel overwhelmed and remember to succeed , even if it is in small things ,as " success breeds success"
Instead of holding others to your standards, hold people to their word. So coaching them to make promises and results that are difficult to reach, but possible and then holding them to account for their word... what they said they would produce or results THEY said they would accomplish. Then coach them. This way, they produce, you are coaching them, they improve and you do as well. Also, surround yourself with 2-3 others that hold you to your word. So the coach is also the player. Boom, done.
the guy asking the questions next to him is kinda of a dolt. look at the dude you can tell hes dieting and exercising and trying to be "healthy" but he looks gaunt. people trying to be 130 pounds soaking wet torturing themselves bags under there eyes i got news you dont look any better you look worse. theres nothing wrong with being 180 pounds. this worlds becoming filled with woman and only woman slowly
He is trying at least. I got to give you that, at first I thought the same, but do your homework and read about him. He is a self-made man. His interviews are spot on and not full of trivialities like those you see on mainstream media.
Love this guy (and all the others as well). My absolute favorite is (for David Goggins and James Lawrence) is stating that mediocrity is rewarded. So true, so tragic and entirely unacceptable!
Great Interview, the only thing that I didn't align with was him saying that his firefighter didn't take any risk, firefighters risk their life to save others
Thank you for this. So humble and such a fantastic person. Bless both of you for sharing your gifts with all of us. Much love and mad respect 🙏 #changemakers
Tank you really thank you for this. To you both. Push to the pain and do it now. Get moving. Legendary minutes for me that I will not forget. Thank you.

Make your bed, spray for cockroaches, and get after it buddy.
Well done you're awesome
That's amazing man!! So happy for you!
"The secret to success is doing a lot of little things consistently over a long period of time." Love this.
That is it bro no one becomes sucessfull without a shit load of hard work
love that quote
Such a simple truth!💎
I wrote that shit on my board.
True words
"The moment you realize the next step isn't going to kill you, and that next step is the first step to evolving, changing, growing and becoming literally the best version of yourself; that's the most beautiful thing".
New life motto right here, love it! :)
absolutely!!!
"Once you started to move and engage, you realize two things
1. It is not scary as scary as you thought it was
2. You will actually start to enjoy what you are doing"
Amen

Mental toughness is one of the most important skills to master. Thank you for sharing this!
I love how Tom always wears corresponding shirts with his interviews. Another amazing interview!!
I listen To this interview once a month. It took me from over weight and unemployed to in great shape and employed
His endurance is awesome. It's amazing how as people we can't endure simple things.
I spent 10 years in the army you learn you can push yourself further than ever thought 👌

33:40 and listen on...This part teaches so much, and the reply given was a game changer
Less than 6 minutes in and I am already inspired. So grateful for this channel.

The response to the question at 33:22 was pure gold.
totally agree!

' Do not listen to the chatter' what a guy! Fantastic video, thank you.

One of the best interviews I have watched in a very long time
While watching this channel which I watch regularly, I love the questions more than answers.

So amazing!! Absolutely love this mindset. Chipping off little things one step at a time. GO The Iron Cowboy! Thankyou Tom for starting IMPACT THEORY!! So Inspiring to keep moving forward!
Mind blowingly awesome talk and interview, thanks Tom and James!
Love the guest, love the series, love the host, love the T Shirt. More people should be watching this!
This is probably one of my favourite TH-cam channels. Probably my actual favourite 🙏🏿🙏🏿
Excellent interview! So many pearls of wisdom from this humble, hard working, positive man. ✔️👍
By far one of my favorite videos, this man is incredible, his mental toughness is awesome. Really happy to know that there are more people out there with the same discipline. We are not alone!
Master Tom! I am calling you Master because for me your videos never failed me EACH DAY; taught me every single day and inspired me. Amazing Master!
50 Ironmans in 50 days?!? How is that even possible? How the hell his heart, brain and whole body survived this amount of stress? This is truely unbelieveable.. Gigantic WOW!
Marcin Nalborczyk He's the one who lived.
Three words: ULTIMATE ADAPTATION MACHINE
He’s obviously gifted!
He wasn’t just an Ironman, he was a Titanium Warrior
Moreover, how were there 50 Ironmans in 50 days where races are usually held on weekends?
Tom, I was watching this an the thought just flowed to me..."Tom is really good at interviewing".
You are...insanely good(like Steve Jobs would say) at it actually.
Oh, and...thank you
Practical deep psychological judo. This session was like a dojo for the alter ego. Combine the James Lawrence episode with Amelia Boone and David Goggins and they can be bundled together as a "Mental Toughness" training. Thanks @tombilyey, as always, for bringing the f**kin thunder
Pretty amazing things are done by ppl like james starting with a pumped up feeling of wanting to accomplish a personal best ...well done
Tom. Incredible. What a man, to define possibilities and human potential and endurance. There was a surge of uplifting of my mind wanting to do something big. Thank you for introducing him. Great episode.
Love the emphasis on breaking through our perceived limits and its power to evolve our own natural capacities, thanks Tim and James!

He did redefined impossible. Such a great interview Tom
Wow I've never cried during your videos but.... The intro made me tear up for some reason and this guy is amazing... This made me cry
Respect to you for being able to connect that way ... & the same again for having the confidence to say it as you felt it.
Wow it made me cry too! I'm glad you felt that too 💙

I listen to your podcast q morning as i jog , it's very inspiring ,I loved this iv, and Goggin's ,
like James ,whatever i do , i do it for my son,
l loved the notion , Have a vision , but chunk it up in small pieces so that you don't feel overwhelmed and remember to succeed , even if it is in small things ,as " success breeds success"
Great video! I was in back pain from too much driving. Got into hydro massage and running. Run 2 or 3 miles a day now plus weights.
Wrestling again bringing the best out of people!! Great interview!!
I LOVED THIS INTERVIEW!!! Thanks Tom and James.
Boom, done.
I read about him a couple of days ago and was thinking about him this morning. And here we are!
Great introduction! So much respect for doing all of this with sleep deprivation, this is an amazing man.
One of my fav interviews ever! So timely. Needed to hear this today 🙌. You both rock! Thx for sharing this.
What an inspiration! Great video. Now I am more motivated then ever. Thank you.Live, Lift and Be Mindful- Bar Fight
This guy is unbelievable. Great video 👍🏻 And love the matching Iron-Shirt (Fe) selection - great attention to detail 😉
the guy asking the questions next to him is kinda of a dolt. look at the dude you can tell hes dieting and exercising and trying to be "healthy" but he looks gaunt. people trying to be 130 pounds soaking wet torturing themselves bags under there eyes i got news you dont look any better you look worse. theres nothing wrong with being 180 pounds. this worlds becoming filled with woman and only woman slowly
Great Interview, the only thing that I didn't align with was him saying that his firefighter didn't take any risk, firefighters risk their life to save others
this guy, a rock solid soul. I believe his wife must be also, to be partner to his spirit. Wow. this interview was a gift, thank you!
This is the best channel on youtube ! Keep it up the great work!
Thank you so much!
