"Oooone year Laterrrr" a Squirrel! PS no need to wait a year. I've caught 4 ground squirrels in one day with mine. Infestation cleared in a few days. Use peanut butter as bait.

You just reach in while you have the trap on a table, setting it up. That is how I do it. Most newer traps have a safety hook to hold the trap door up until you have it set up and in place. Then just remember to unlatch the safety hook and voila. You are ready to trap some bandit racoons!!

@@jamessancimino the trap I have has a detachable rear door that makes it easy to place the bait behind the pressure plate.

This is not an EZ-set trap and I am not sure what the EZ-set model number would be
    for this same size trap
I have used the Havahart EZ-set # 1083 to dispose of 300 grey squirrels since
June 2014. The *** 1-door *** EZ-Set traps save me time in 3 different ways:
    1) They are much easier and faster to set.
    2) they are also much easier to bait because you just put the bait behind the
trigger plate, instead of trying to balance the bait on top of the trigger plate.
    3) I don't have any false alarms any more because the 1083 is NEVER set off
by small birds. It takes a 1 pound animal to set off the 1083 and almost all
grey squirrels weigh at least 1 pound. That is important if you are not home
to keep checking your traps. You will never catch a squirrel, if the trap is closed
for hours with a small bird inside.
I used to use a 1030 for squirrels but since I bought 2 of the EZ set 1083 traps,
I stopped using the older model trap. Plus the 1030 is a longer trap, so I would
need to use a larger size tropical fish tank to drop the 1030 into.
Home Depot and Lowes do not stock the 1083 but I was able to get them
online for about $35 via Amazon

Actually if you consistently take them to the exact same spot in a wooded area,
very quickly scavengers like possums and fox will notice that, and they will begin to patrol that spot
on a regular basis. I've disposed of 400 grey squirrels in that manner and the last carcass
has been gone, every time I brought a new one there. It's called the cycle of life.

Why would you “dispose” of squirrels? They live on earth just like us? Were they doing something to your family? And how did you murder them? What if someone wanted to dispose of you? That’s not a way to live.

Is there a grey squirrel shortage somewhere in this country that I'm not aware of ?
Possums and foxes have to eat too, dipshit.
It's called biological diversity, look it up some time.
