      @NotThatBob. I disagree. He was at that age where bad decisions are made by both males and females. He really did appear to be trying to comply with showing up at AA meetings. And he had a good attitude when he woke up drunk, surrounded by the police officers at that intersection. We all do dumb stuff when we are young. I hope he never shows up in court again. He appears to be well-dressed and he was driving a Lexus. Judge Boyd gave him another chance. That says a lot in itself. She has a very strong bullshit detector.

    • @cc-tb3st

      @@libbyworkman3459 strange how so many people never make decisions that actually put them in trouble with the law or in prison. But those that do continue making the same mistake over and over and over again. It's kind of like they're dumb and can't learn. All they think about is instant gratification not future consequences. Then they never face true consequences and just keep getting released back in public over and over and over again until something bad actually does happen usually to an innocent bystander. All because the true dumb person that can't learn is allowed to continue to participate in society and get his instant gratification.

They have a lot of money to pay back, they have classes and community hours they have to serve and they are expected to hold down jobs. Young people need to seriously consider trade school! An apprenticeship will take you 4 years, more or less. It's highly technical and math heavy, so tradespeople are not uneducated and ignorant. Washing out of an apprenticeship is sad--tradespeople as journeyperson workers is the key to a high salary as your skills grow.
    College is NOT for everybody and school counselors need to quit telling young people that's the only path to success. There's no shame in working with your hands!

      My husband is/was a doctor. Got sick of Healthcare and is now in trade school to be an electrician 🙃. Aint nothing wrong with trade school. If he woulda just done that to begin with instead of being pressured to go to college for a decade we would have less debt

    If we are admitting that we cannot protect convicts from homosexual rape, then we should not be sending people to prison. It's as if rape is the punishment for crime; if so then that is literally what the sentence should be: "I' am sentencing you to 5 years of rape."

    If the judge is willing to send anyone to prison knowing what she just said, that would make the judge guilty of human trafficking, reckless endangerment, intimidation, negligence and assault. How is that not cruel and unusual punishment. The judge needs to spend her time locking up prison guards and wardens for allowing that behavior. The state should be sued for every single assault in prison. The state is the legally responsibly party.

    Dont see how deferred adjudication protects the innocent public? Seems more consideration is always for the perpetrators than the victims. If they commit a crime they commit a crime. There is no fairy dust that undoes it.

    • @BoydBuildersInc
      @BoydBuildersInc 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @@ryandiaz8415huh? In order to be eligible for deferred adjudication, the defendant first has to be found guilty of the offense. The punishment can either be prison, probation or deferred.
      So your comment about having a presumption of innocence is just childish and silly. They’ve been found guilty.
      Deferred will keep it off their record and is usually reserved for first time offenders in the hopes that it will allow them to change and continue in their development. Once a person has gone to prison and has a guilty conviction recorded, they are much more likely to continue to offend. It’s very hard to get good jobs with that on your record.
