Wonderful machines I have rewired mine with a new cable that's twice as long and taken off the beater from the brush roller and added another brush so it now has two, I also have the twin-turbo model that has height adjustment, the suppressor does give up eventually but you will know when it does as it smells awful.
They are both great vacuum cleaners been threw my decade the Electrolux 502 upright is same age has me and the Electrolux 502s was in the early 80s when I was a toddler
Thats an earlier model, without the stripe running from to to bottom of the bag housing and from serial 0 26 means it was made in 1980 week 26. The one you brought in later in the video (the Z502S) was a later model (serial 3 07 meaning 1983 week 07) hence the increase in power and the stripe from top to bottom of the bag housing. By 1983 however, the 550 and 560 were around, so taking over from the 502S. The basic design of the 500 series dates back to the very early 70s, and that design was used for a very long time in various facelifts, until the late 80s when the 600 series took over with its onboard tools. Even after the 600 series came out the 500 series soldiered on in budget basement form a while longer so I believe as it was such a popular design.
The chances of getting that "something" from a shipped vacuum are very, very low because during the time the shipping takes, any potentiol virus on the vacum has died off, it doesn´t survive very long by it´s nature.
@@huskyvacs I can relate to that! Just got a pretty good Hoover Junior 1354 from around 1966/1967 for free and it smells awfil of old dust, tobacoo smoke, mold and I don´t know what else :D I took the whole bloody thing apart and soaked everything but the motor in washing powder solution first, then in vinegar solution. Can still smell it after 2 days!
im gutted , miele have stopped making all upright vacuum cleaners that are bagged, u cant get em from the s7 range up until the new ratings u just cant get em new
What, really?!? I´m not a big fan of these massive upright vacuums with the brush like the one in this video, but I like "normal" upright vacuums a lot. But that´s a shame that Miele has stopped the production! How long ago? Just had a look at the Miele Website and indeed there is no upright vacuum anymore, only bagless models with no cable... and who needs that.

Yes, but it’s been rebranded Covid-19. I lost my sense of smell and taste, had a brief fever and a cough that lasted a few weeks, but I didn’t miss one day of work and haven’t been ill for nearly a year now.
My goodness another vacuum cleaner apart of Electrolux history. With some tlc and a bit of elbow grease it will come out great! Wonderful job!

Another great video Roger! 👍
Love the look of these iconic classics, shame these models don't have the glowing neon power switch. Great video as always.

I think you’re immune Roger, you’re very daring with some of the machines you buy, good video as always 👍🏽
Back from the days when the buyer had to supply and fit the plug
So dyson has just released their new v15 detect stik vac. Are you gonna check it out?
It’s not available in the UK yet.
Wish these models where in the USA
My 1979 502 has a 425w motor.
