    Thanks, DonnaLee -- I watched several related "how-to" videos, even by professional repair techs, and yours is by far the best: you really cut to the chase and make the instructions very clear for amateurs like myself. I replaced the fuse in my dryer last night and now it works!!! Thanks so much!!!

    I find it impressive that you actually took the whole dryer apart in you search, and made it work. If I had to put it together again I would probably had done it wrong several times before succeeding, if at all. RESPECT!! 😆So thanks for pointing in the right direction.

    O.M.G.. You're definitely a blessing. May God continue to bless you as you bless others.. I searched and I found you and the fixxx...It was definitely the hidden fuse. You help my mom save plenty of money..

    Awesome tutorial. Clear, concise. Jumps right to it! No long preamble or tangents. Not if this is the problem but I’m gonna try it before I pull the whole dryer apart. 🙏🏼

    Thanks!
    But my problem was the idler wheel arm switch (also called the belt switch or interlock switch) it is down on the bottom of the side next to the motor; this switch is depressed by the arm that holds the wheel that puts tension on the belt.
    Turns out, it is frequently the reason why a dryer won’t start.
    The paper that shows the schematics is very helpful to show all the switches and fuses or thermistors that need to be tested. This schematic is supposed to stay with the dryer up behind the cover where the controls are.

    Touching the fuse with hands will do nothing. They are not like halogen light bulbs. Touch them all you want. Key thing to check it fuse amp rating which will be noted on the fuse end. Make sure you get an equivalent rated one. Good job fixing your own stuff!

    Thanks I didn't know where the fuse was, I thought it was the start button, but when you touch the switch with the meter wands it shows numbers but goes down to 0.01 so if numbers show is that a bad switch or a good one?

    Donna, I check the fuse it was burnt on one end of the fuse holder, it broke off that thing you push the red wire up on the jacket that holds the long fuse like yours, where can I get the fuse holder and the fuse too? Can you help me find out if the fuse holder has a pacific name for it?

    • @donnaleetellsall
      @donnaleetellsall  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Go back to the video and look in the description Box. The link to where you get the right size fuse is listed.
      This is the link for the fuse holder. Its the last and only one i can find. Ge WE1X21955 Dryer Fuse Holder www.amazon.com/dp/B01M2BI103/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdb_imm_V36V6XNMVXM5CGB3KTQ2?_encoding=UTF8

    Why did it blow though?

    • @donnaleetellsall
      @donnaleetellsall  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It blow because of a power surge. The fuse is there to protect the dryer from being damage from that power surge.

    How do you remove the fuse?? You skipped that??

    • @donnaleetellsall
      @donnaleetellsall  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching my vidoe. Answer.
      1st unplug the dryer. Wear rubber glove while you are removing fuse.
      2nd get a flat-head screwdriver or a butter knife with a plastic/rubber handle. Any object that has a skinny tip to fit behind the fuse with a rubber handle.
      3rd. You are going to slide/put that object behind the back of the fuse and slowly put pressure on each side of the fuse to pop it out of the space it's in.
      4th. (Most Importantly) when you replace the new fuse, please use a rubber glove because u don't want you body to gound out the fuse (short out the fuse).
