I’ve gotten 7 mins into the video and I must say the way u are expressing so far is great. You are stating your opinion and why. Also you are doing it in a way that is not attacking at all. Good job. This is a huge improvement !! Not everyone is gonna like the same stuff.
Excellent video!! I really wanna speak out about my disability... also, I wanna do a rant/opinion on elevator modernizations and KONE elevators... And yes, I completely agree with your opinions on this topic...
Hey dude I love your personality. I’m the same way, if someone is being mean to someone else, I will defend the person who is being bullied. To the people who are insulting Julien, please stop now
RandomFortnitePlayer 68 Thank you! Definitely, I care for my friends, and if they are being attacked, generally it's not my business, but if it crosses the line, I will definitely defend them.
Nobody should be attacking anybody about any sort of opinion. Wether they agree or not with the opinion or not, it's still the person's opinion. Everybody has the right to have an opinion. That really has been a problem here in the community lately and it makes us look bad. There is a difference between a fact and opinion...
TXMN Elevators TOTALLY AGREE 100%!!! And that's why I decided to make this video. It's such a BIG problem in the community that really needs to be addressed.
After watching this video, I do agree on what you have said. As of a matter of fact, the first Schindler 3300 I rode was at first broken when I first walked up to it. And I rode it, thinking I was in some sort of tin can. After warming up to that model, and riding other 3300's, I've gained a lot of respect for that model and Schindler in general. I'm not a fan of 330A's since they're everywhere, but in reality, they are well built together and are quite reliable. As for KONE, there are some that (like you mentioned) are cheap and feel weightless. I've had that thought too, but lately I don't get that feeling anymore on those installed recently. My local Von Maur has a KONE, and it's very well maintained, feels very sturdy, and doesn't glitch at all. Like that one feels like you're in an office building rather than a parking garage. But yes newer elevators can break down, maybe something wasn't wired up correctly, or something was set at a wrong setting causing a malfunction or glitch.
Well said my friend!!! I agree with your opinion on 330A totally! And I've been on a few KONEs that feel like nice office buildings elevators as well, but that was only like 2 KONES out of the many I've ridddn, the large majority of them feel like parking deck elevators
I once rented an apartment building and they had Kone Ecodiscs. One had pads. One has none. The one with no pads is the one I don’t like. The cab looked creepy. The ride was scary. When you said Kone Elevators feel weird it feels like I was gonna get stuck. This elevator gave me bad memories. The one with pads were not bad. They had 370 Fixtures. I get scared when I ride KSS 370 Kone Elevators.
I know what you mean. I am a guy as you can tell that cleans these things. And when I get my cart out on a certain floor, I will sometimes see an elevator tech working on the doors, on top of the car and sometimes goes into the motor room. One guy did take me up to show me the motor room and I noticed that ThyssenKrupp elevators has filters that are supposed to trap the dirt from going down the shaft and settling on the guide rails. But that tech got either suspended from Otis or something for taking me up to the motor room.
GREAT EXAMPLE!!!! Were you talking about that FAIRMONT La Chateau Frontenac QC with the BEAUTIFUL OTIS TS Elevators during the video? PLUS I TOTALLY AGREED PERIOD!!!!
I totally agree with you Julien! And wow; you said a mouthful! Not only that; but I believe that this is perhaps the longest video that you did on TH-cam.
There's a KONE Ecodisc by my house that has the call buttons on the second floor wired upside down!! The down button calls it for up and there up button calls it for down!! For the love of god, how can they let that happen?!
Bashing based on opinions has definitely been a huge issue along with the community trying to act as authority figures whenever someone "doesn't follow the rules". The only thing that's the same is the fact that we are all elevator enthusiasts, but what's also a fact is that we all behave, like and dislike differently. This whole expectation of the "perfect" elevator enthusiast needs to end. I think this community would be in a much better position if we just learn to accept these differences and not boss each other around.
David Ng You're welcome! Generally, you should try to form your own opinions, but I will say, he has been on some pretty bad ones!!! LOL. I miss him and his HILARIOUS rants and F Bombs and stuff LOL.
14:50 While I was on a recently machine room tour with a ThyssenKrupp elevator guy last week, he told me how the early Kone elevators were terrible. More referring are the brakes that he told me that were cheap. I don't know about what is right now, but I have heard that it's better. Not trying to correct your opinions, I am stating what he told me. I do not really know if Kone is improving or something, I just need to ask him again since I am in contact. I am talking about the ThyssenKrupp technician at 24 Greenway Plaza.
I apologize if you're disappointed about my late arriving, but I just finished watching the entire video, and I would like to say you taught me a lot. KONE isn't a good company! They are actually ruining some Otis Series 1's that (other than a loud leveling issue) were completely fine! They had the rare chicken beep sounds, and I am mad about it! Again though, I COMPLETLEY respect anyone if they like KONE! I agree with your topic.
Now the only elevator company that seems to be doing their jobs still fine is Mitsubishi. They're not the most expensive looking, they're not the most efficient, they're not the most interesting, but they're the most reliable ones.
I haven't had any of these issues with KONE Ecodiscs but I do respect your opinion. Not everyone likes the same thing. I know almost everyone hates innovation but I honestly prefer innovation over most stuff. It kind-of keeps the "traditional" look compared to modern OTIS fixtures. Honestly OTIS techs have told me the GAL MOVFR II Door Operator is junk but I disagree with that. The GAL MOVFR II is heavily based off of the old design and it has been proven. These new linear door operators are for modern POS elevators. I like both vintage and modern elevators but I don't like Modern OTIS, That's just my opinion. For a Modern elevator, I'd rather one of the small 3rd parties like MEI or Colley Elevator install or mod stuff with Innovation. I don't like what the "big 4" have to offer. But If I had to pick my poison, I'd like a KONE Ecodisc or a Schindler 330A over most. Despite how cheap 330As are. They almost always have an epic motor.
Hello, I think you are complete right. Also this is your channel and you can do here what you want. And if anYone dislike that, he mustn't watch. So don't take it to serious. Cheerio Toni. PS: You do a good job here !!!!
I understand. I’m from Western Pennsylvania, a place where kone is extremely small. We only have like 3 EcoDisc’s, one of which I’ve filmed. Most of the Kones I ride are in different cities. I’ve always loved them and loved their European uniqueness. I have seen a few that were a little noisy, but they always seem to run smoothly, and (in my opinion), have a cool design. I just don’t like some of the things (not necessarily you) people say. Some of the people in your comments completely disrespect them. It makes me upset when I see so many people saying rude, mean things about them. It makes the elevator community look bad. I’ve watched many of their videos, and I think they are some of the most dedicated people out there. I’m also thinking about working for them someday. I will agree their elevators seem way cooler in other countries, but they don’t make bad elevators. It’s one thing to not like them, but it’s another thing to say mean and disrespectful things that makes our community look bad. I respect people’s opinions, but not their rudeness. I’m not trying to attack you Julien, I just wanted to get this out there.
AdazElevatorz It's all good!!! I respect that you think they are cool and how European some are! You are right about some people in my comments, a lot of them have opinions too, but I will admit, some have gone just a bit too far, but generally I don't mind it. But I understand, and I respect your opinion. ;)
I dislike Schindler and kone Dover. but I like generic elevators and modern elevators and vintage elevators. endura MRL and ISIS Otis. And I love your videos. and I’m sorry about people attacking you. have a nice day!!! Great video!!!
Floridian Elevators I HATE THE CONCEPT OF ENDURA MRL ELEVATORS NOW Because I realized they can KILL people in the cab and that’s terrifying and dangerous and also Otis hydro fit SAME THING. PLUS SOMEBODY DIED INSTALLING A ENDURA MRL WHAT KIND OF GARBAGE IS THAT. I have shared my opinion of ENDURA MRLS and people please don’t attack me. Thank you!
I recently rode a BRAND NEW 1200FPM Kone for 38 floors. It seems like Kone has gotten their act together, but their 2020 and older ecodiscs feel so cheap. Just try knocking on the walls!
I agree. That's your opinion about Kone! Other people can think there great. That's cool that doesn't mean you need to like them. That's there opinion and your option is you don't like Kone. Great video.
I totally agree that the majority of KONE elevators are garbage! I was on one the other day that had a front and rear door which opened on equal landings and the 2 doors would not open at the same time! If you wanted the rear door you would have to wait for the front one to open and close before it even opened like what the heck?! It's a shame all that they use is Ecodisc systems and they only do custom hydros rarely cause there hydraulics are a lot better. And I still can't get over the fact that they are only made to last 3-5 years!!!
Mattyice0812 IKR!!! It's rather pathetic and that's why they are often known as "Temporary Elevators". I'm not a fan of their hydros from before 2008 when they discontinued them as a lot of them are really slow and feel like LULAs, and feel cheap in all of the other ways Ecodisc installs are, but the custom ones and ones from the Late 1990s and Very Early 2000s aren't too bad.
Floridian Elevators What is a temporary elevator? I have heard that from different people when they rode some Kone EcoDisc MRL elevators? Does Kone really call them temporary elevators? Where did they get that term “temporary elevator“?
JimLiElevators No, KONE doesn't call them that LOL. It's a term CVE9120 and Dan Allen made as a joke since KONEs are so cheap and don't last very long.
And also the fact they also look like parking deck elevators with stainless steel cabs in nice buildings and not nice looking or premium looking at all.
I agree with you 100% most if not all kONE elevators are not very good quality for the exact reasons you stated I really prefer more old school equipment also I agree about the hotel.. Only 2 elevators for 10 floors? And no service unit? Definitely not the optimal setup plus aren't the ecodisk elevators relative slow?
Floridian Elevators & Dan T: Every modern type elevators you see today are slow with no qualities whatsoever. I just talk to maintenance guy at my school this morning, and he strongly prefers the old equipment over the new. What do you guys think about that?
That is shocking. Many techs usually hate working on old elevators, but Mike from Otis love them, and I agree, Old school equipment is MUCH better and higher quality!!!
Floridian Elevators Julien, the one I am referring to, he LOVES his Chevy truck that is 98 years old! Still working today! Although, he did change the parts, But he still loves it other than that. Also, about two elevators at my college campus broke down this past week, they were maintained by Kone. Boy, that maintenance guy I talked to complained about the elevators. 3 ThyssenKrupp Aurora elevators, 2 Schindler 300A MT elevators. Nothing vintage.
Also, the people at my school are maintenance crew, NOT elevator technicians. Maintenance crews don't know much about elevator than elevator technicians do.
The way you said this was amazing but I have to disagree because KONE lifts/elevators work amazing over here in the UK. If you watch a British KONE elevator you'll notice that KONE are far better in the UK than in the USA
I agree... Kone's controllers are dumber than dornail. Even hooking the EcoDisc to a doornail will make it work better LMAO And basically new lifts r mostly crap except for Otis, Schindler & some TKs... I don't blame u... I feel more comfortable riding old lifts than I do new lifts because the people who built the old ones designed them to last year's On second note I kinda will agree with u on the freedom of speech part. There's times where I've definitely crossed the line with immaturity & disrespecting people opinions & annoying the crap out of them in the past especially with my fake otis rants... And I'm still immature today especially with my rants of two fixtures most of the us elevator community dislikes anyway. On third note I agree with the disrespect of opinions... We should be ok to have our own opinions for example if we don't rike the Schindler 3300 or we harte the kone ecodisc because of its "rollercoaster brakes"... I think this video has taught me a lesson on respecting others opinions... And fourth of all I would like to congratulate u on voicing your opinion :) you're truly a great friend in the elevator community to us all :) And I don't feel like the elevator community is getting along with each other too well lately... As long as we ignore the trashtalk & bias we can enjoy elevator filming as much as we like FRIRND :) *I don't really like kone too much either in some places if they put a crap controller in replacement of a good controller during a mod* And the EcoDiscs acceleration is far too slow... I once saw a EcoDisc on TH-cam going 2 meter per second which took *9 seconds* to decelerate, even though on a Otis Elevonic 411 going 1400 ft per minute like the one I filmed in the borgata it only took *8 seconds* to decelerate from full speed
HC EleFilms by Technicalboy3000 Thanks for understanding and yes, It can get a little annoying when you mention Monitor TR, especially during my Canadian series where Monitor barely exists at all if at all, but I'm glad to have you as a friend, thanks for all of the kind words, and you make me laugh and make me feel happy whenever I have bad days!!!
For thyseenkrupp, Schindler, and Otis, good things about them will be stuck in 1990. Their modern elevators have gone downhill even though still well built and very reliable. I guess they realize that after 20 years most building owners go replace them so they are starting to make them lower quality. Also Kone acceleration and deceleration is good at least for Asia and Europe countries, and even the American ones don't seem to go that slow.
There was this place in Sydney that had a 70s Otis lift and a 90s Kone ecodisc. Both were very good and very awesome (the Kone buttons actually feel cheap although they work). I was pretty dissapointed that the Kone had its interiors modernized, and the button and indicator was replaced with some sort of generic, and it looked worse than the Kone ones. Also that 70s Otis was replaced with a kone lift (with 4th generation ecodisc motors, the ones that don't make brake noises). Pretty disappointed, also those new cabs used by Kone has buttons that looked more generic.
Well... We don't have KONE in Brazil anymore, they left their operations to ThyssenSÛR in 1999 and the only KONE elevator I have ever rode in my life until now is modded by Otis. It's creepy, yes, but I don't think it's terrible as the new ones, because it's from the early 1990's. I think that KONE's takeover of Montgomery really destroyed Monty's reputation, and I really liked Montgomery.
Lívio Naves Montgomery was a great company, I wish they still existed. And I will say, the ones from the Early 1990s in Foreign countries with M Series for example are actually pretty cool!!! It's mainly the New Ecodisc ones in America.
I did find a pair of glass kone ecodiscs at a underground parking garage in France they don’t run bad as well and I found kone ecodiscs on a cruise ship they run well as well despite minor shaft noises
Honestly, I like KONE Elevators, because they run very well and are very well designed. If I had to have an elevator that I absolutely don't like, probably the Schindler 3300, because it is literally just a tin can going up the shaft. The inside looks nice, but the actual structural workings of a 3300 are very cheap. 5500 is a much better model because it's higher spec. Schindler HT is boring, in my opinion. They are just very repetitive. Same thing applies to the OTIS Gen2. I absolutely don't like the Hydrofit because it's nothing special, just a hydraulic Gen2, nor do I like OTIS Mods. ThyssenKrupp/TKE is sometimes good or sometimes boring. These are just my opinions, don't take this as an offensive statement.
Just to mention I dislike fujitec just so you know I found a kone ecodisc at a parking garage in France with no problems .also I was on a cruise ship in Europe and there were kone marine elevators on the ship and they ran fine depspite minor shaft noises.
Just asking. Why do you hate fujitec? They feel really good although some just look cheap with cheap buttons. They are very reliable, just like Mitsubishi.
Floridian Elevators That is the Crockett Garage at Shops At Rivercenter. They used to be Montgomery Vector from 1985. I need to upload that video at some point.
Floridian Elevators That was the location you are referring to. The floor indicator on one side of the elevator was already dead after modernization, then the floor indicator on the other side is already messed up. When the elevator reached to P1 and P2, it only said P on it. When it reached E (5th floor), the indicator said D on it (4th floor). That I should say is by far one of my least favorite elevators in San Antonio.
JimLiElevators Oh ok. Yeah, I don't blame you for them being a least favorite... It's probably one of the most boring elevators in San Antonio anyways, being how many vintage elevators there are...
Floridian Elevators When I go to San Antonio for my birthday next month, I am FLAT-OUT skipping RiverCenter, unless I making a shortcut. But what I mean when I say that is that I’m not going to mess of the elevators ever again knowing the Montgomery Vector elevators are gone.
KONE is not that great either. Even worse, I was stuck on a 15-year-old KONE EcoDisk at Parking Terrace E in Tyson’s Corner Center when I was 6 years old... I’ve only been on 3 KONE Elevators. The first one at some parking garage in Lancaster, the second one at Tyson’s Corner Center, and the third one at Duke Energy Convention Center.
Hey julien hope all is well i understand your frustration with such models and all that but i honestly dont mind the newer ones since the islanders at UBS Arena has it with the voice and yes you have every right to speak whatever you want as per the 1st amendment again i honestly hate kone elevators with a passion but the newer models i seem to dont mind at all and i hope you understand where im going lol. Enjoy your evening buddy Regards Drew from long island
Those elevators are really meant to open their doors while leveling, I don't understand why some units don't, maybe optional to building owner and all. And this brings us to a disadvantage of Kone lifts. When they don't open before stopping, they are not efficient.
Life is so much better and back in the old days we don’t have social media and I like the old day because I can go out and do things like hanging out with family and friends and going to social group and filming elevators
I like your videos but I do not like to watch any of your KONE videos new or old because I feel like your reviews towards them are very biased because it the same thing each time. I rarely hear anything good come from you about a KONE elevator you may ride even if it was a decent one. I respect your opinion and hope you will respect mine.
Theclueguy 338 I understand....But I'm sorry, I just don't like KONE and even ones that may seem decent (to you anyways) still feel really cheap and I really don't like the ride quality they have. I made this video for a reason, and hopefully you understand, I'm sorry you feel that I'm biased, but it's all part of fandom though...
Floridian Elevators and of course i understand why you dislike a brand everyone has SOME type of thing or band that they dislike. Like i said I still will watch your videos I just wanted to voice my opinion. Thanks
Im so sorry your dealing with bots scammers and bullies i would report them asap and if its serious id get the police to investigate asap have a private csi cyber or fbi investigator or simply block the asswipe just know im here if you ever need anything or just want to chat
Very descriptive video Julien. A bit long, but you used everything you needed to back up your opinion. There was evidence for everything you said. Also, I don't think you said this in the video, but Kone didn't design the EcoDisc. It was a stolen design. That's what I don't like about Kone.
I once stayed at a Hyatt Place and they had kss 570 (I think) and the ceiling was actually shaking as it was moving and the buttons felt like they can be broken far too easily. Although I liked the look of them but the up button was already damaged in the lobby from being pressed too much. One time the doors on one of them kept refusing to shut.
I’ve gotten 7 mins into the video and I must say the way u are expressing so far is great. You are stating your opinion and why. Also you are doing it in a way that is not attacking at all. Good job. This is a huge improvement !! Not everyone is gonna like the same stuff.

I have shared my opinion of ENDURA MRLS and people please don’t attack me. Thank you!
BENO HATES GENERICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m with you I don’t like Kone either. Thankfully there aren’t any near me.
I recently rode a BRAND NEW 1200FPM Kone for 38 floors. It seems like Kone has gotten their act together, but their 2020 and older ecodiscs feel so cheap. Just try knocking on the walls!
KONE elevators are deathtraps. Any place that has KONE elevators I'd prefer to take the stairs. ThyssenKrupp elevators are a close second.
@@LondonAndSouthEastTransport DON’T SAY THAT!! :(

Floridian Elevators *scoffs abruptly* Sorry, I was confused about that. XP
I know this comment is late but i feel very sorry for you julien. I would feel the same way if i have a lot of haters.
I 100% agree with you on this, Julien. I absolutely DESPISE Kone Ecodiscs.

29:12 I also do have another feedback/question. What does it mean to be guilty on something?
JimLiElevators That you have done that bad thing yourself in the past...
Dan T Yes, those elevators were definitely pretty slow!!!
That's fair. At least you're respectful. ;)
@@FloridianElevators true
I agree... Kone's controllers are dumber than dornail. Even hooking the EcoDisc to a doornail will make it work better LMAO
And basically new lifts r mostly crap except for Otis, Schindler & some TKs... I don't blame u... I feel more comfortable riding old lifts than I do new lifts because the people who built the old ones designed them to last year's
On second note I kinda will agree with u on the freedom of speech part.
As long as we ignore the trashtalk & bias we can enjoy elevator filming as much as we like FRIRND :)
*I don't really like kone too much either in some places if they put a crap controller in replacement of a good controller during a mod*
And the EcoDiscs acceleration is far too slow...
Your bedroom looks so charming FRIRND :) I like the blue colour :)
Hornrt Disc Going Doen...
Otis and Schindler always feel safe
Honestly compared to Kone lifts they still feel safe.
I used to like Kone, but now I hate it.
With American Kones, if you jump on top one, you’ll go straight through. That’s how cheap they are lol
This is just my opinion. It really depends on if they did a good job on the buttons.
I did find a pair of glass kone ecodiscs at a underground parking garage in France they don’t run bad as well and I found kone ecodiscs on a cruise ship they run well as well despite minor shaft noises
I actually agree kones feel very weird when they run and there too loud and the motor dose look like plastic
I hate KONE? More like I love KONE! ECODISC IS BENO’S FAVORITE TYPE OF MODERN LIFTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
34:59 Wha...!?! What is a motion-less robot? I had NEVER heard of that before!!!
JimLiElevators It means when someone is an emotionless robot that they have no feelings or respect for anyone or themselves....
Why are Fujitecs THE WORST OF THE WORST?
Here is my favorite to least favorite elevator company list.

2. Schindler

10:45 Do you know which building you’re talking about with me being on a Kone with the indicator not showing?
JimLiElevators It was somewhere in San Antonio
Enjoy your evening buddy

I totally Agree. KONE Elevators to me look absolutely Ugly and look like a Chinese Knock Off of ThyssenKrupp.
What is the best elevator brand
French Kone lifts are not too bad. But the levelling is tooooooo slow !
But I'm glad you enjoy all of my other videos, that's good enough....I rarely film KONE anyways, for a reason...
Floridian Elevators and of course i understand why you dislike a brand everyone has SOME type of thing or band that they dislike. Like i said I still will watch your videos I just wanted to voice my opinion. Thanks
Theclueguy 338 Alright, well, glad you understand.
That is actually true, they stole it from a company called XiZi!
Anyways, thanks for understanding. I'm sorry the video was a bit long, but I didn't know how to make it any shorter lol

DJJack 1229 WOW. Sounds like typical cheap KONE quality to me!
How about Schindler?
He says it in the video
How about Schindler 3300’s
