2016 Jaguar XF S review by Motoring Middle East Editor, Shahzad Sheikh. Great car for sure, and a perfect successor to the previous XF, but is it a worthy big brother to the wonderful XE?

Great review! I have the privilege of owning a 2016 XF S Supercharged here in the UK. Mine even has the same two-tone interior but the exterior is in British Racing Green. I just came across this video review in my feed. In my opinion, you have been very fair although I would have probably been more enthusiastic. I remember watching a review from a US driver where he repeatedly broke out into excited giggles at the performance and handling! I too have driven different models of the XE and I owned an older XF as well. I would agree the XE is a slightly sharper handling sporting saloon that is great fun to drive. However the XE's rear seats are cramped, the boot is smaller than the XF and the XE is harder to get into. My wife and one of my friends both bumped their heads against the A pillar. For those reasons, I went for the XF. I also think the XF is quieter when cruising. There is performance to spare in the XF S: it's a fun car to drive. Handling and turn-in are much sharper than in the old XF. This is due to reduced weight, a suspension system based on the F-Type, the electronic steering system and active suspension. Using Dynamic mode: 1) Sharpens the steering 2) Firms up the suspension 3) Speeds up gear changes 4) Causes the car to hold the gear if using flappy paddles 5) Remaps the throttle to sharpen response. A combination of Dynamic plus Sport mode in the gearbox causes a Jekyll and Hyde transformation from a smooth sports saloon to a snarling beast. I love my XF S Supercharged and I enjoyed the review!
What a great looking car!!! Please note the cubby box under the central armrest is actually a good size, but in the review there was a cover in place. The cover has a square recess which is a handle for you to pull it off. Otherwise great review, keep up the good work.

Is it any roomier than the XE in the front? Seems to me it's the same width as the XE but with a bit more rear leg room.
Definitely more room in the back than the XE, and I would say a fraction more in the front. But XE was still very comfortable up front.

Is the normal XF S RWD or FWD, and is the AWD the rear wheel bias AWD?
I believe we only get the rear-wheel drive version here.
