    I tried this polygel for the first time this weekend. LOVE IT! Did poppits forms on my short nails and free hand on my longer nails with just the clear. Been using acrylic for 40 years...not again.

    WOW! This is something I have expressed the need and want for, for so long after switching from acrylics to gel products only. Even the "thick/builder" gels are truly an art form a nail tech has to teach themselves; and having been on a quest to find a gel that will stay put so all 5 nails can be worked on at once has cost more than I care to admit sadly. THIS IS AMAZING! I cannot wait to try...excellent idea Gelish, cutting edge for Nail Techs everywhere! Not to mention a major reduction in service time, while still maintaining quality. :D

    Just got this system and am super excited to get started with it! Went to a class at Premier in Orlando and got the chance to listen to Danny speak about this product while Vu did the demo & made it look easy & flawless (to an experienced nail tech)and the slip is cucumber melon scent which is inviting instead of repulsive... It's awesome for a natural nail salon! Good smell and dust falls right to the table.

      Catriona Halliday while I understand your point of view I would totally dig seeing a sleek black bottle like this. One because it's not simple and too gaudy, and two because it screams sanitary. Lol. I always get worried about how sanitary some shops are and this looks like a very sanitary process.
      If I were to change one this about this packaging, I would put it in an air pump bottle, that way it is truly using all of it instead of the potential waste this squeeze tube presents!

    • @Nailsmag

      It's not alcohol and definitely doesn't smell like alcohol (it's a really light melon-like fragrance). We were told that the Slip solution mainly acts as a lubricant for the bristles of the brush and helps the brush to not stick to the surface of the PolyGel, making it easy to shape.

      Professionals are educated in the chemistry and caring for the integrity of the natural nails. We understand how important it is but the general public treats products like their benign and harmless. I see more and more nails that are destroyed by uneducated consumers because they come to me expecting me to perform a miracle on their sore, weak, over filed natural nails then complain about lifting and breakage. A fragile, weak foundation makes a poor base for even a professionally applied nail. Get educated before you assume I am not confident in my 27 years experience doing nails professionally

    Not exactly a new invention... It looks like gum-gel. It's most likely gel and acrylic powder mixed together. And the liquid is probably alcohol. Other youtubers have posted videos about this several years ago. And btw, it's easy to make it yourself. The only thing that can be considered new about this product, is that it comes in tube packaging.

      @BajaRosie 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hmmm, IMO gum gel and prinz yes is alot more sticky, almost grainy looking consistency that needs the liquid to actually soften the product. From what i understand the liquid "slip" in the gelish polygel system doesn't actually soften the gel but rather is to prevent the gel from sticking to the brush to help shape the product, as they said "there is no active ingredients in the slip" so it really is a different formula.

    • @linemarielle3647
      @linemarielle3647 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      It says in the information box that polygel is hard gel and acrylics combined..... and btw, isopropyl alcohol is an inactive ingredient... when working with gum gel, alcohol doesn't necessary just soften the product, but prevents the product from sticking to the brush. Just like the "slip" does when working with polygel. How hard the gum gel is, depends on the ratio between the hard gel and the acrylic powder. It's possible to mix it so it won't be as hard that needs the alcohol to soften it. Just to prevent it from sticking to the brush. How grainy the gum gel is, depends on how fine or coarse the acrylic powder is.

    • @BajaRosie
      @BajaRosie 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      if you read the description box again!! it says "THE BEST QUALITIES of hard gel and acrylic" not actually mixing hard gel and acrylic together, and BTW isopropyl alcohol is most certainly an active ingredient go grab your bottle and read the label.... yes alcohol can be considered both active and inactive but def not rubbing alcohol ...one can already tell the qualities of polygel already make it seem different than gum gel, the easy filing, the light-weight feeling on the nails, the flexibility, the strength etc. and being that it is patent pending product i guess we will see when it gets patented if it is just "gum gel" or a true original hybrid of both gel and acrylic systems and not just "a stolen idea from someone or gum gel"

    • @linemarielle3647
      @linemarielle3647 7 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      At nailpro's website, it says the following: "The formulation of PolyGel combines acrylic powder for strength in a gel base with photoinitators providing no odor and workability." In other words, acrylic powder in a uv-gel.

    • @ThePynkMic
      @ThePynkMic 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Line Marielle I've seen those videos. the gum gel looks like CRAP, some even make it cornstarch. also gum gel takes a lot longer to cure, and doesn't cure all the way.

  • @tracibryant5196
    @tracibryant5196 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think it looks like a neat product and i have alot of clients that switched from acrylics to gel polish and growing their own nails if soaked properly. my only concern with polygel is the removal. I don't want to cause damage to my clients nails... as little as possible anyway

    • @Nailsmag
      @Nailsmag  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We would recommend taking a course on product removal with an e-file from any manufacturers of electric nail files or gels who offer education. Many of our editors have had gels removed from the best in the industry and there is no damage to the natural nail, mainly because the e-file never touches the natural nail.

      We're not sure, but they did have a limited supply at America's Beauty Show, so they might have it at other shows.

    Don’t you need primer or base coat before applying this product?

  • @desertdiva9771
    @desertdiva9771 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good video. I like to keep up with new products. However I don't see the benefit of using this method other than lack of an odor. I can get acrylic application done much quicker. This product seems to need more patting and working than acrylic.

      Hello from Los Angeles, California! You should be able to put all of those things on top of it just like you would a regular gel or acrylic.
