wow i never thought to wear spf on my hands while using a uv lamp. thank you for that!
mine started burning i’m so glad i watched this
Same
That or they sell gloves on Amazon
That's a good idea!
@@sheenachantethat’s what I use!
Very informative.
I’m in the process of trying this out myself. I’m extremely impressed at how well you did. If you did this well then I feel like I have a chance at getting it.
For a first timer you really did awesome. Thank for the video.
Thank you! I hope it worked out for you!
Im amazed at how good this turned out to be. Im in a journey of growing my own nails stronger and have watched a ton of videos about things that can protect and possibly strengthen my own nail plate. Polygel is one of the products I want to try, and your vid greatly helped with what to expect and what to do for better results. Thanks a lot 🙏🏾
I'm so glad I can help! Good luck with growing out your nails :)
Thank you for the realistic review and thank you for the tip to use sun screen i never even thought of that! I use gel polish all the time!
For a first timer,. I personally think you actually did as good a job as some professionals I've seen,. And,. I hate to say this(sorry Abby/my friend next door 🤦🏽♀️) but my neighbor and friend had hers done in town in a nail bar and O..M..G. yeah I think until ill be staying clear of that particular bar...your nails looked beautiful considering this is not something your used to doing,. And I'll look forward to seeing more and seeing you then branch out into the arty(gems flowers shapes etc..)side as I reckon you have a penchant for false nail application. Well done 💅👌

LOL I really appreciate that! I love doing my own nails. And yess, I did recently film another tutorial on some nail art :D I'll be putting it on soon. Thanks so much!
In regards to you asking "what is this...?"
So when you use the 'slip solution' to manipulate the polygel it kind of melts the gel into being almost watery. So when smoothing out with a wet brush you get your cuticle area wet with what you think is slip sol or alcohol but is actually thinned out polygel
Not bad for your first time..seriously. I’ve been licensed for 36 years & in my opinion you did good. The only thing you may need practice is in shaping & blending. That comes with experience in using a file and or drill. Pretty nails for your first time & your choice in doing the poly gel method. BTW the stuff you peeled from your skin was the dried film left from the poly gel.
Those look like it's professionally done?! Your voice is so calming lol
Lol 😊 I try to bring the salon in my home! 😅 And thank you ❤️
I have really small nail beds too. Great job!! Thanks for sharing. You have beautiful skin tone!!
I just started this also .. Mine last at least 20 days... Real learning curve... But...I love this...I work rough with my hands... But these last.... You do need the gel remover when you want to change or remove.. No joke .apply wait scrape.. apply wait scrape... It really stays on... And the top coat.... The shine lasts the entire time they are on.... I'm loving them
Hi hope you don't mind me asking you. What product is the gel remover. Thank you for any help or advice. 😊
Have a lovely week. Stay safe 💗
💚✨
I'm glad polygel works out for you! They're definitely durable and strong compared to a lot of other types of nails. And if done right, they look so pro!
I believe people soak them in acetone for about 5-10 min and they should easily peel off. I actually saw a video on youtube where this girl used floss to remove them lol. I tried doing that when my polygels were naturally peeling off on their own (by the 3-4 week mark). And it actually worked!
Thank you for sharing. I learned some new things in addition to my first trials, so my second time will go smoother. Your finished nails look great, and the light color helps for us beginners.
You’re welcome! Good luck :)
You did such an amazing 👏 job that I am absolutely going to purchase this today for myself as it is my birthday 🎂 and I've totally wanted gel nails! You are obviously very intelligent and thank you for watching so many other videos before attempting this! You obviously did a lot of homework! Your 💅 nails look gorgeous! Oh I also have short fingers. Congratulations and thanks for a perfect 👌 video 📹! 🌱 💗 💅 🌼 💅 💗 🌿
I’m so glad that I found your video! I too have tiny nail beds.
These look gorgeous! Really awesome for your first time. I’m going to try out poly gel because I’ve known too many people who are getting skin cancer from UV lamps when getting gel nails at the salon. Poly gel also works with LED lamps, which I would suggest.
You are actually exposed to more uv when your outside for 20 min so you won’t get cancer from the uv lamps unless you never leave your house
uv and led are the same
If u find an “LED lamp” it would be the same as a UV lamp. As it would be used to cure the product, it needs the uv rays to work.
Great video; simple and well thought out for your first time!!!
Thank you! I try :)
I love your honesty & realism 😍 what a breath of fresh air!
Your hands are exactly the same shape as mine...you've inspired me to have a go...
Yours look great.
Well done. Great video 💞🙏
Thank you! I hope it worked out for you!
I've never worn makeup, styled hair, or done nails in my life. However, I am enjoying the idea of my small bitten nails actually looking feminine. Im a welder, so I'm usually working with my hands, but I can dream.
You could get some press on nails. I like to use those when I want a quick and cheap mani. They don't recommend you wear them past 7 days, so it's quick to come off too😊
you did good for it being your frst time.. I love seeing te real in ppl videos it shows we arent perfect. keep doing you boo
Thank you! I absolutely agree! 💓
They're so pretty they look so natural
Looking into doing mine at home
Tired of being over charged for crappy services
Thank you! Have you tried it out?
I really want to try this after watching your video. It was educating to me and I think I’ll try a lot from Amazon because I love acrylics but it’s way too expensive and the pink looked really good because of how natural it looked
Hey I think it doesn't hurt to try! Did you end up doing it?
@@AprilLaBelle No, I still haven't bought it. I don't know if I would make the nails even and shape them good enough😅
A true beginner’s video! Thank you 😊
Yes! You’re welcome!
Thank you for demonstrating this!
You’re welcome :)
Hi you have actually convinced me to try these. May I ask how you remove them please. Or if you have a video showing this. Thank you once again. Stay safe and well pretty lady ❤
Hi, I'll do a video on how to remove them the next time I do polygel :)
Informative tutorial for me, a novice. Seeing your experience is helpful. Thank you!
You’re welcome! :)
You do great review. I appreciate your preparation
Thank you!! 💖
You did a terrific job. They look so feminine and clean.
So happy for this tutorial! Thank you!
Yay! You're welcome!
This was very helpful and the way you do it looks so easy but the way you said it was too hard made me think if it is a good idea for me to do ❤
Glad it was helpful!
Great video🎉🎉 thank you! Just something to remember, for all the hobby nail designers out there. Everything we put in the skin goes into our bloodstream in less than 20 seconds. And also the uv lamps can cause cancer. Just a reminder to not do this too often if you wanna stay healthy 😁 Not saying other things are not more damaging, but still ❤️
Great advice!
great job the only thing that helps me is having the dual form abit bigger than my nails there are no gaps and lasts so much longer but that looks awesome
Ohhh that’s great feedback! Thank you!
Okay I appreciate the step by step I was gonna start crying cause I was struggling so much
Yes, it takes a lot of patience!
They look really nice but one question how long did they last for you?
Thank you! They last me between 2-4 weeks :)
Thank you @April this video helped me a lot.
I'm glad I could help! Good luck!
this video was so helpful and your voice wasn’t annoying to listen to unlike some other ytubers.
Thank you! :)
How do you remove these nails?
Acetone or file off
Looks so good for a first time
Thank you!
Thank you for your video!! Where can I get a nail lamp from? Any suggestions??
I searched for mine on Amazon :)
im so happy my mum got me a kit for my birthday with all the tools
Hey April, I don't see the products linked in the description :( your nails came out so cuuute!
Thank you! They’re up in the description box now! :)
Really nice job you have pretty hands to begin with and the nails look very natural... I will be following your advice
Aw thank you! You're so sweet. I always thought I have small, stubby hands lol. Let me know how it goes if you decide to try!
I added it to cart on Amazon and your video was very helpful
Thank you! Did you try it yet?
What is the name of the color you're using for your polish?
Do you need a nail drill in the end to do underneath the nail? I don’t own one is it recommend or is that optional?
Honestly i think u can just file it
It's optional. But it can help them to look more natural.
This was actually so informative ❤
I'm glad you find my video helpful :)
I just came back for the second time to watch this video and found my own comment 😂 it’s so helpful thank you!🥰
girl i am your hand twin
lol little hands, short fingers, small nails? 😆
Try masking fluid. You put it on your skin around your nails let it dry then paint your nails and peel it off carefully. I peel it off before curing and dont have any issues.
Thanks for your suggestion :)
After watch n# of tutorials that wasn’t clear to me I found you finally I did it thank your are the best explaining ❤
I’m so glad my video could help! :)
Easy to follow instructions, tnx for the video ❤
You’re welcome!
My nails keep breaking in the line between the natural nail and the poly gel and I don’t know why? Any advice?
Hello, I just came across your channel. I have a Makartt polygel kit. Somewhat just like yours. I didn't have any instructions or slip solution. The one I got was parisian in pink.
Huh, that's interesting. I got my off of Amazon. How did it work out for you?
@@AprilLaBelle I think it's expensive and it should have came with a lot more like instructions would have been great the slip solution you can buy that at Dollar store but instructions is huge for me that made me kind of upset cuz I know there's nothing about polygel and I'm new to it so I'm watching 1,000.5 billion videos on how to do it
@@wonderlandsmith4187 yes, I agree. I got my kit off of Amazon and it definitely came with instructions!
Mine didn't have any instructions or anything either
@@dianeboyet6425 what make it funny is the people that does the polygel tutorials and stuff they seem to always get instructions that's what I find kind of funny
Can I use 70% rubbing alcohol?
Yes!
You did a lovely job demonstrating, but I am so happy with my natural nails and that only takes me 30 minutes 😄
Lol stick to what you’re happy with :)
They look so good.
Thank you! :)
it's the smush over that you corrected with the brush and alcohol it sometimes leave a little polygel that sticks after curing
Thank you for letting me know! :)
You did awesome
Thank you. It took a lot of time and patience 😅
Wow very informative and can’t wait to try one day
Glad I could help!
Is it just me, because I can't find not 1 single link in the description box. 😢
Hello, they're in the description box :)
So detailed and an honest experience
I try 😊
This helped me so much watching this late but thank you
I'm glad it helped :)
Searched for an update but couldn’t find. Looks nice!
Omg they came out so cute ❤ how long do they usually last
Thank you! Mine lasted about 3, almost 4 weeks :)
Great video
Thank you!
How often do they lift, and do you just start over and apply a new nail when they do?
If done correctly, I've seen people make it last up to a month! Honestly, I just did okay for my first time and these lasted me about 3, almost 4 weeks. However when they started to lift, I just removed them with floss, but the correct way to do it is to file it down and soak them in acetone. I really haven't tried again since it took so long to do them the first time LOL. The results are really pretty though. There is a new way I've been doing my nails with GEL-X, and I'll be posting that one soon!
You did well!
Thank you! I’m trying :)
I made that mistake of not smoothing the backside out and omg it took so long to thin the under sides out haha never making that mistake again 😅
Lol oh no! It comes out so thick in the back once you cure it haha. I hope it worked out the second time around!
So important to protect your skin and people don’t remember that!
Very important!
Can the gel be used without the forms? My nails are long already and i just want to keep them from splitting and breaking.
Yes! It just takes a lot of practice in terms of placing it on, smoothing it out and figuring out the thickness of it. The forms are there to guide you through all of that. But it’s definitely doable without them.
If you want to keep your nails from splitting and breaking, you have to carefully remove the polygel when it’s time by filing them down.
How many days that poly gel nails stay ? Plz share link where u dis purzed vecoze we did find good poly gell tube
Hi! Links are in my description box. Polygel lasts me between 2-4 weeks. For others, I've heard they can last up to two months!
Wow I love you said things
Thank you!
It looks not so difficult, do you think that everyone can do this? I really want to try this. I am really interested in learning this
I think if you take your time, and as long as you don’t rush it, I think you can. It takes a lot of patience and time ☺️
Looks great😊
Thank you!
How to do the filling when your nail grows?🤔
I’ve actually never done that before :/ I tend to just start over with a new color when they’ve grow out.
Very talented girl ❤
Thank you! :)
Should I cure the base gel coat under the UV light??? 😊
Yes! You must cure each gel/polygel layer.
I did polygel nails and they fall off in just one day. They don't stick to my nails why is that? I even buff it and wipe it off with alcohol wipes
Wow, that’s really strange. Did you do a layer of base coat first and then cured each layer?
This is really good for a first try, did the removal of the nails damage the nail bed?
If you remove by filing down and then soaking off, it does not damage the natural nails. But if you peel them off when they start to get old, yes.
Does it make your nails brittle after you remove them?
Depends on how I remove them. If I use an e-file, no. If I use floss to remove them, yes!
Do you always need the light....?
For polygel/gel, yes, you would always need the lamp to cure it.
🤗 No Lamp- IF u fill dual forms with ACRYLIC!
USE "Low Odor Monomer " to create acrylic bead to fill form. ❇Low Odor Monomor - is SLOW to harden- so gives more play time to fill the dual form & place on nail.
Then wait to harden & pop off.🥂
Trick 2= Use regular monomor & fill all 10 dual forms ahead of time.
Place small acrylic bead into dual form, spread to shape.
Keeping it on thin side.
Set aside, while u fill all 10.
Prep Nails w *primer etc.
Then add new Small bead to underside of filled dual form - only on area that will adhere to nail- place on nail-
Remove dual form when dry & u got a perfect shiny acrylic nail 🥂
you did a really good job but I would never have the patience for doing that.
Lol, thank you. I think it took me the whole day!
How to remove these? And how to remove the bace coat . I managed to remove the top nail but the base coat is now on my nails 😢
Hi! I actually just gently file away any residue left on my nail. I’ll be sure to film that next time!
Thanks for that 👍🏻 what’s the best way to remove the nails
In my opinion, the best way to remove without hurting your natural nails, is to file them down. But it’s a lot to file down and a lot of work 😫
How long do they last?!?!
2 months up to but they r very easy to peel off sadly
@@callieburke4112 months???😮
Mine lasted me 3-4 weeks. Maybe if I prep my cuticles and nails better, it'll last longer!
Hi, I want to try polygel. I naturally have long nails. Do I have to cut them short? Why ?
You don’t necessarily have to cut your natural nails short. You’ll just have to make your polygel the same length or longer, so you’ll have a smooth base.
Nice
Thank you!
How long do the nails last??? Before having to do them over again???
It lasts for a month or even more if u put them on right!
2 months
Do they have this product w/o the use of UV light?
For PolyGel, I believe you need to always use LED/UV lamp to cure it.
Excellent video. I'm so impressed.
Thank you very much!
What could I be doing wrong, mine doesn't go as smooth. It smudges out and bubbles all over
😬 Oh nooo, I think maybe it just takes patience? Mine definitely felt like it took the whole day to do! What percentage alcohol are you using?
Can you link the Amazon products u used? I I didn't see it
Hi! Here's what I got from Amazon:
PolyGel Kit: a.co/d/dsqDGOs
Cuticle Pusher: a.co/d/4qQgDl2
Cuticle Trimmer (this is a 2-in-1): a.co/d/86kVD7b
Gel Lamp: a.co/d/6T8LJWI
E-file: a.co/d/6zlRUB2
What type of nail file are you using to shape & file the nail ?
Hi! I'm using this one by Revlon on my natural nails: a.co/d/agGljOE
As for the polygel, I'm using an e-file listed in my description box :)
Does this stuff last well??
Yes, they’re very strong and lasts me between 2 - 4 weeks!
i think you did an awesome job as a beginner! gives me hope that i could do it too
Thank you! Did you ever try it?
can you use water instead of alcohol ?
To disinfect, rubbing alcohol is needed. To wipe off the sticky layer after top coat, rubbing alcohol is also needed.
can I do that without uv lamp?
No. The lamp is what cures (hardens) the Polygel
Thank you for doing this video
You’re welcome! :)
Yeah I'm okay with doing my left hand but idk about my left doing my right hand 😂😂
Lol, it takes some getting used to!
can you reuse the dual form?
?
The poly gel comes off the form completely when cured. And even if there are bits that stick to the form, you can still reuse it, because you have to file your nails with the gel anyways (so doesn't need to be applied smooth and perfect).
Ty love your tutorial very honest.
You’re welcome! :)
can u link all the products you used ?
Yes, they’re now up in the description box! :)
How did people never think of using sunscreen under a UV LAMP 💀
It's a game changer :)
