My son wore cargo pants from Hot Topic for many years. He would just have me re-dye his black pants and repair any minor wear until he moved out at 19. This was early 2000's. Hard to think about how long ago that was, he's almost 40 with a teenager himself now.
As always, the sew-the-look videos are one of my favorites. I think it could have been fun for you to tell us how much these Net-A-Porte outfits cost. I always get a kick out of that. Great job!
These are always my favorite video's. I love the cream satin pants with the monochromatic look. Maybe with a tuxedo stripe down the pants. Gala event in secret pajama's :)
Love every look but probably the first one is my fav. I think I have almost all of the patterns. My mind is whirring right now. This is exactly why I sew! Do I need more clothes? Not really, but the wonderful thoughts of sewing something new just takes over! Enough said. I’m off to peruse patterns once again. Thank you, Whitney, for another inspiring video. ❤️
I always enjoy these videos, the inspiration is contagious! However, being closer to 70 than 60, I find my inspiration pieces in the Coldwater Creek or Talbots mini catalogs, they give me plenty to work with. Big fan of LN and SA patterns, the number I have purchased is ridiculous but much cheaper than the big 4 and are always available, especially during the C era! As always, wonderful job!
The feather dress will be my Christmas party dress this year! I found a red print Italian crepe at Harts that would be perfect, and definitely doing blue feather trim! I had been looking for something special but comfortable. Thanks Whitney!
I’d like you to tell how much the ready to wear version costs, and an estimate of how much the pattern and fabric would cost. That would be really interesting!
Pattern and fabric costs are linked in the description box. All the ready to wear outfits are linked on the Inspiration Pinterest board also linked in the description box.
Thanks for the inspiration! I surprised myself at liking the first 90's look (again) but something about a Johnny collared sweater with corduroy pants is cute and so cozy. I like the dress like the Azores but don't have much use for it in the Fall/Winter. The Mitchell trousers are on my "to make" list but I'm scared of having to fit the muslin and don't have a lot of time to sew right. now. They may have to wait for the Spring.
wonderful vlog. love all your ideas. PLEASE PLEASE DO THE OSTRICH SLEEVE DRESS, I love how excited you are over all the ideas. It is really infectious and cheers everyone up immeasurably.
I live that you love dopamine dressing. Not my style but you make me want it! Thanks for the inspiration, Whitney. My favorite was #1. I might have to get that Style Arc pattern for the top. Also, loved the vest. I have the Birch pattern. I think I need the faux leather to make it up. Loves the video, Whitney!! Thank you!!❤❤❤❤
I love the last look, it’s interesting, but not my cup of tea. 😊 However I have some of those patterns, but we are coming into Summer here and could adapt them with those ideas for our very short Spring. Thank you Whitney for your tips, very much appreciated! 💐
That last dress is the best. Love the fabric! Absolutely love the fabric from mood for the azores dress. And the panels are only 4.99 for one! It seems to good to be true.
Great video, as always! Love the idea of satin pants…might need to make a black pair as a dress-up basic for the holidays. Understated but fun! Thank you for providing such great inspiration.❤
Thanks for another excellent 'sew the look' video, Whitney! I love the slouchy trouser look although I'd probably stick to my favourite True Bias Landers. I prefer the fitted-over-the-hips look. I already have a denim pair which are always being admired. I think my favourite pattern suggestion is the Pattern Scout vest. Here in the UK we call it a waistcoat but what's in a name? I like it whatever it's called.
Oh whitney! The azores dress in that fabric !! So you! I went straight to the website...fortunately for me, i dont do fabric pr pattern ordering on line (too many clothes already!). Great video, love your sense of humour😊 Liked all the looks. Also the feather trim!
Whitney, I, too made the Pattern Scout Birch vest...the FIRST for-me garment in years. Yes, I devour your videos, but rarely sew for me because of fit. I really liked the pattern, but the princess seams are a good inch away from my bustline. They are towards the side seam instead of more center body. 😢 Maybe you could show us how to fit a princess seam pattern piece to our bust before cutting?
A number of the looks are already in my wardrobe . . . unfortunately I couldn't recommend the patterns since they would probably be considered vintage at this point. (I still have my Calvin Kleins!!) I thought that it might be fun to pair the little organza jacket over a "slip dress." Also, it would be great to make it for a teenager or collage age girl over a jumpsuit, rompers etc. As always, lots of fun! Thanks for getting the ol' grey matter moving . . . :-) 🌺
Awesome video❤ but I’m conflicted…moving into warmer weather here in the southern hemisphere, I am SO over knits and trousers, I am longing for dresses, floppy hats and sandals! BUT as a person who never wears orange, I think I am having a love affair with the orange crepe wool, seriously considering a style arc pattern for the first time and looking at making the cadence dress for the first time! 🤣
I LOVE these videos. So much inspiration. Thank you! One thing, the link for the Mood fabric for the Marlo cardigan goes to the cardigan pattern instead of the fabric. But keep up the great videos. They are much appreciated. 😊
I have a waistcoat in my makes list but I would layer it over a blouse. I could make it in real leather but I’ll save that budget for a skirt, lol. I am going to use Vogue 9009, 1994. 3loose fitting, lined, sleeveless tops. View C has a similar feel to the waistcoats I was admiring on the costume channels. My mom immediately though Pirates of the Caribbean. That’s my tailoring project for this fall. Winter, I am going to make another attempt on the jacket I tried last year. It will look similar to the jacket Rose wore when she married Atticus in Downton Abby. I didn’t watch the show but the video is on yt. My fav was the turtleneck. I’m waiting to see how cool it gets here in Dallas before I decide how many winter items to make, lol.
I loved these. I did have a slight issue with the links. The fabric link for the Marlow sweater took me to the pattern again, rather than the fabric. I tried 3 times. Please check that? Thanks.

That last dress would be great for a Midwest Frocktails event!
Totally!

Creative juices are flowing now! Thank you! Thank you!! So fun.
I hope you make something beautiful!
I love these "recreating" videos! So much fun! I think my favorite was the slouchy sweater and the gorgeous orange/red pants.
That's a great one!

Totally snap those up!
Love these sew the look videos! Maybe next time include a few bag patterns? 😊
Oh yes!!
Brilliant as always! Both of the dresses you chose are amazing!
Thank you!
I need to go to Frocktails so I can have the feathers.
Agreed!
Great video, as always! Love the idea of satin pants…might need to make a black pair as a dress-up basic for the holidays. Understated but fun! Thank you for providing such great inspiration.❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderful collection of wanna makes Whitney, thank you. I am interested in those Duchess jeans and that I Am patterns dress/top, wow!
You are so welcome!
I agree, length on last dress should be maxi or above the knee!!! Your fabric is prettier 😅
Thanks!
I love your videos. Thanks for the inspiration

❤️❤️❤️
Bravo. Thank you.
❤️❤️❤️
What a fun video! So many inspiring looks! You may have a Style Arc convert :)
They have some great patterns!
I just purchased the Largo pants. I still need to purchase fabric for them. I would love them in corduroy.
I think corduroy would be perfect!
So much fun, I love all of these looks and patterns!
❤️❤️❤️
Love the looks!!
Thank you!

That's a solid idea, but you can take advantage of the light coats all winter!
@@TomKatStitchery yes, and I have one on the list. Still looking for lining for that one.
I loved these. I did have a slight issue with the links. The fabric link for the Marlow sweater took me to the pattern again, rather than the fabric. I tried 3 times. Please check that? Thanks.
I just fixed the fabric link. Sorry about that!
This is off topic, but, because I am very similar to you in coloring, might I ask what lip stick you are wearing here?😊
Sure! This is the Ilia Colorblock lipstick in the color Cinnabar!
Thanks!
