  • Australia's prime minister suggested today that her country may yet become a republic in the future, though she praised the Queen for a lifetime of service.
Julia Gillard welcomed Her Majesty, who is on her 16th visit to Australia, as a "beloved and respected friend".
However the controversy over the Australian's failure to follow strict royal protocol rumbles on.

Ms. Gillard is a lady of vision and a mind of steel. She's great and advance-minded well way ahead of her time. Sadly, Australians didn't appreciate much on her great works : carbon tax, climate change agenda, more investment in schooling and undergrad education etc. What she did propelled all being the urgent issues on the world stage now. I really admire her. She's farsighted, candid, strong but trade-negotiable, tolerant, very
pre-empted and unafraid of being brutally criticized for showing her straightforward opinions for every quizs. Especially, she has been guarding and empowering woman's prides, since "a speech of the century : Misogyny". Don't we forget "MeToo" movement born after her tirades on Mr. Dumbman : Tony Abbott. She should have been treated better and received a standing ovation. For her knife, it's not a serious in my view because ...
    1. There were a large pool of bloodbath in Aussie politics before, so she didn't deserved being a lame duck!
    2. For the survivals of your party and country, a backstabbing of the stubborn and inefficient man for a high office is inevitable, I suppose. If it wasn't her, it would be another for sure.
She has massive potentials of administering the hard tasks. What I love her the most is she always stood for her grounds and views regardless of biases and bombarding oppositions. She just letted time prove her points that were all real!

Well, the Prime Minister is gone, but the Queen is still on power, that's the difference... Prime Ministers come and go, but the Queen is always there as symbol of continuity. Hope you Australians keep your monarchy. My country (Brazil) is a great example to you; through a coup d'état a man overthrowed our constitutional monarchy and since then my country have seen horrible times. We went through dictatorships, more coups d'état and we continue with a corrupted government. When the time comes for Australia to discuss it's form of government, I hope the people of Autralia be the ones to choose, not only who is in power. God bless Australia! God Save the Queen!
