I have a 1947 GM (early styled G) and the shift lever won't go into the 5-6 slot. All other gears work fine. I need to take the transmission cover off to see what the issue is. Your video will be helpful.
Magneto or distributor? Just work your way back. If no spark, check spark plug, then check different wires, and finally the mag itself. Sometimes the wires get cut and ground out in the tubing around the engine block. If you have nothing from the mag, then take the cap off and clean the points. Sometimes the mag needs completely rebuilt. Hopefully that helps.

The early bs has the tube from the governor to the intake too
1.4 noozle for jd paint but what size noozle for primer
