      Not at all. spoils to the winners!. Just watch the game again and see how many times Stones passes were sent straight out whereas he was supposed to start the counter attacks in the second half. Now coz City won some people like to exaggerate about this one or that one!.

    Nothing went wrong, Pep just happened with his mad tactical genius. He
    Set up the team in a way that totally suffocated Madrid, after the 1st leg he said there's one or 2 tactical tweaks he'll do, and he did exactly that, the team was exactly the same as the one in Madrid, but just played a bit different, pressed higher with more intensity, let's be honest, Pep really is a genius, there's no point debating against it at this point.

    Real Madrid usually play with a confidence that always creates opportunities, so even when the stats look bad, they never panic, and they can still win. But they were rattled today. They couldn't land a single pass in that first half without being swarmed, and they didn't have an answer. That's more about how good City was though, rather than Real being bad.

    Coutois is a great keeper first of all. The reason they won last year. Not benzema or vini jr.
    Second- Madrid should have started with rudiger as cb and alaba at left back. And allowed carvajal to go a bit up the pitch and play 3 cb or even a defensive system with 4 defenders as per the need of game. Rudiger performance last match was very good and he should have started. Other than this one tactical error, there is nothing much done by RM, and city are just a better team.

    • @tratbagd4500
      @tratbagd4500 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Carvajal going up the pitch would have ended the game much sooner for city. Alaba definitely wouldn't have been able to stop Silva; he hasn't got the pace anymore nor is he physically strong to force himself on Silva like camavinga did. The truth is, there is nothing that could have been done that would have prevented city from winning. The solutions you proposed at least attempt to fix the defensive shortcomings, but Madrid were inferior all over with the exception of the goal keeper.

    • @IntoTheWeeds71
      @IntoTheWeeds71 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Agreed Rudiger should have started. I don't think it would have changed much, but he brought passion and energy in the last match which would have helped the team's confidence when they were suffering. That was missing this time.

    Easy: Playing Kroos as a CDM, which made Ancelotti lose his job the first time and also led to the 4-3 last season. The man has a Casemlro replacement on the bench, but refuses to use him. Mendy is healthy, but he still forced Cama into a LB position. The old age of Kroos, Benz, Modric doesn't help either. City despite having more of the ball ran almost 6 km more - to put that into perspective, that equals the running of 1 extra player. You can't get away with that laziness at this level.

      RM sold. Odegaard, Antonio Blanco, Achraf Hakimi. Chose to keep relegated. Arribas, Rodriguez, Miguel Guitterez.... All just to keep playing the same set of people for 10yrs?. At some stage very real reality dons on you.
      A midfield of Camavingha, Blanco and Valverde.

    May be an unpopular opinion, but there is a difference between a manager focused on short-term success and the one who prioritizes long-term development and establishes sustainable standards for the team. Ancelotti, not a master tactician, relies on his exceptional players to individually influence the game, whereas Pep always approaches matches with a well-thought-out strategy. While I respect the quality of players at Real Madrid , I believe that the club should consider hiring a master tactician who can anticipate future challenges and implement long-term plans.

    As for RM, I think it's high time we thank Ancelotti, Benzema, Modric, Kroos, and Carvajal for all what they did for the team but it's time for new blood, I really wish they would bring in De Zerbi.

      Exactly. Tactically Ancelotti set them up to fail with Kroos as a CDM, which also got him fired last time. However City ran close to 124 km, whilst Real ran 114 km, despite City having more of the ball. This equates to City essentially having one extra, hard working player on the pitch. Ancelotti has to take the blame here.

    Man City v Ref Madrid 4-0 SF 2023 is even better than Barca v Man Utd final 2011.
    In terms of ...
    • the quality of the victorious team
    • the quality of the opponents
    • the level of how Man City play
    City didn't allow Ref Madrid to make 3 passes.
    So humilating!
    I also Nedum spots on too.
    I did see what the stats said that in the first 15 minutes, while City had +100 passes, Ref Madrid's total passes was just 11 (not 13)! - just like the number of their player on the field.
    Remember those Madrid fan boys who were sure their team was through, please WAKE UP!
    It's about how your play on the pitch instead of just having a wet dream
